HISTORY—
Having an interest in how the world works, Magnus taught himself the way of Alchemy using the various books found in the libraries of Caerel. This lead him to eventually start experiments of his own, forcing him to learn other arts such as Herbalism, Geology, Physics, and Engineering. One day during one of his experiments a nasty explosion occurred, burning his left hand and presumably his face, considering after that day he always wore a mask he commissioned from one of the best craftsmen on the island.

One day as he was gathering objects from the ocean to make a new compound he thought up, he ran into a young dragonling named Light. Magnus thought that was odd since dragons were closely monitored. None the less the dragon had a curiosity about what the different colored vials he carried were, and after a short demonstration, the two were inseparable, more so because Light hung around quite a bit. Though Magnus came to appreciate the company and the two became friends/bonded soon after.

Hey, I'm one of the people who's only kinda familiar with comic book lore, but I know Magic exists in the DC universe, so is Magic ok to use in this RP? If so, what kind of limitations or rules does this universe have for magic?

Well cartoons are out, thats for sure. Probably none tbh as long as it isn't higher level reality bending.

But you'd better hope its after crisis, apparently anything before that is off limits.

Exactly, and thats why I'm confused. Hes basically saying no to the silver era of comics, which is why I'm trying to get a clarification on what kind of cutoff date he wants. I make silly fun characters, not serious boring drama bombs which are made every day, and without a point of reference its sorta hard to do that.

That 'appears' was meant in the literal sense. I have been honest with you the whole time. My honest feelings are that I dislike the fact Light is a cartoon in the real world and is literally meant to be 'silly'. And my problem is your using a comic book universe and your saying 'silly' isn't allowed. Have you read comic books at all mate? Some of the craziest things happen in there. And thats what I'm confused on, its like your trying to use a DC-alike universe instead of a DC universe. The same universe where Superman had to get back pastries from I think the Weather Wizard while teaming up with I think the cheeto mascot. I can try to find it again, but there are lots of comics with cartoon characters mixed with DC.

Course if your using the New 52 and thats it, then your pretty grounded, in which case, you might wanna state that.
