I think this all just boils down to fear that my char will be far too disruptive without even seeing her in action. Or something like that.

I remember you trying to submit a character with this toonforce mechanic in another RP before and it was completely shunted and bashed on there, showing that it is garnering the same type of reactions here as well. While I personally don't fancy the idea, I also can't judge it and will need to see it in action. It could be interesting to see. However, most people feel as though your character may be too overpowered and break the realistic feel that is trying to be established for the RP. Perhaps tone down on some of the abilities and choose the more practical toon like abilities.

For example, there is an actual Mutant in the marvel universe named Tommy. She is a morlock with a very cartoony appearance with the ability to become flat and 2-D. It's cartoony, but they made her power work realistically within the universe. If you do the same thing here, it might not be as much of an issue for everyone. It might help. :)

Nah it'll still be a problem from the sound of things. Its some irrational fear I see now so it wont change things much. If their issue was power origin, I could easily fix that, but its not that at all, but an irrational fear of a less violent deadpool. Those two seems to be the only ones having problems with it too. everyone else is fine with it.

Especially if I had to put her with a marvel hero personallity, she'd be more like Iron Man or Hawkeye (or if DC, I think Harley, but wayyy smarter), just a little worse when it comes to identifying serious situations on the outside since, in her vision. "No one is ever serious, otherwise everyone would be dead."

Light was a bit confused at what Heather was saying. "I said Mr. Cyborg. Are you a guy inside that shell?" Light said, sticking her tongue out playfully. "No, I'm talking about that guy." Light said, pointing at Soldier X.

A newcomer entered the room, introducing themselves as Garbage, which Light though was an... interesting name. More so she couldn't help laughing a bit when they introduced themselves. Sure they were a cloths designer by what they were saying, but they could've came up with a better name. Tanya, someone who Light didn't know every well, offered her a welcoming hand. Archer then approached the group, eager for the paintball match, much like Vivian who tossed Light a flag and declared her team the victors more or less.

"I'll take whoever wants to join my team. If its too one sided, you all could play 'hunt the monster' with me as the monster too I guess instead." Light said at Vivan's declaration. "I'm not good at paintball. I forget, can I jsut walk through the paint balls and take the hits, or am I out if I get shot?" Light said, scratching ehr head.

I kind of see where you guys are all coming from with this.

I can understand the point Dead and Frozen are making, there are certain cases where a character like this can ruin things, or more of an overall feel, a character cracking jokes, doing dumb sorts of things or just generally being comic relief at the wrong times, or constantly, can be irritating and generally not too fun to role play with.

At the same time, I don't really think we've seen enough (or at least, I haven't seen enough) about or surrounding Light to really make a judgement over whether or not the character is like that. Personally, i've seen more comedic characters role played in this sort of environment really well, if the character has the capacity to step up and put on at least a serious face when it matters, then in my opinion it generally works, and so far I haven't seen anything to say Light can't do that.

I sort of misunderstood before what you guys were arguing about so, my bad there, but I respect all your guys views here, I think it'd be a shame to hold a character back or deny them on an assumption of bad things to come or bad intention, but ultimately if you guys just don't want to rp with that sort of character just in case, that's totally well-founded as well.

I'm just going to wait for Intel's decision though, I just like adding my two cents.

Pretty much. She works in any setting. But from what I'm getting they're thinking of super grimdark, instead of say, Batman TAS gothic dark which is a much better darkish medium. There is a reason why Batman is much more well known and liked than Watchmen, for example. And ofc Harley came from TAS and is a fan favorite, and TAS made... (I forget the actor's name) almost the definitive joker voice. Same with Batmans actor.

Jeezus fuck guys can you all please calm your tits? I'm on my phone now and I can't bring reason to this just yet. But please do me a favor and look beyond just 1 character or just 1 trait. We have all kinds of characters here.

Here, I'm gonna bring a solution to the table. How about @Archmage MC makes a serious character and allows Light to play as secondary comic reluef, but can post as primary serious character during serious scenes?

Eh. I'm not good with total brooding grimdark characters with no other traits but brooding and dark like these two seem to think a serious character is. That type of character is just too one dimensional. I'd lose interest pretty fast if I was forced to have to use one of those. IMO a serious character is a character thats well fleshed out and feels like a character or person, even if a bit warped. I mean, Hulk, Iron man, Hawkeye, Capt, even Deadpool are serious characters but have lots of comedy to them. Would you deny they're serious?

I feel like the general mood of the RP is reflective of your mood as a GM. You don't seem to have a notion for where you want it to go, and you seem to easily get upset with how its progressing. I think your own lack of confidence is flowing over into the RP, and not everyone is able to do the massive collabs, so they feel left out.

It just sounds like you can't handle some equilibrium. Dark stuff needs comedy to contrast the dark and enhance it, otherwise you just get super boring things. Imagine Batman TAS for example, or Adventure time, or Steven Universe. They have their dark and their comedic. Sure the latter two are more lighthearted, but if we do batman TAS for example, they still had comedy all the time. Mostly joker stuff, but it was still comedy. Heck, did you see all the innuendos that Harley was involved in?

Have you been in lots of RPS where someone did a comedic character and didn't keep it in the confines or tone of the RP? It can be done and done well, but you'll never see if it you don't give people a chance :P.

Light is a 1.8 meter tall white humanoid figure. Her head is a large spherical shape with no nose, very large black and orange eyes(Demon lense type), short blue hair, fin like ears, and a very very skinny neck. She has a noticeable hourglass shape to her due to her hips and chest. She has skinny biceps with large forearms and hands with spike-like fingers. Her legs end in sharp points where her feet should be.

She wears a white dress with blue trim and a blue tanktop, the dress having an 'M' cut pattern in the front to reveal her legs and looking more like a labcoat than a frilly dress. It should be noted that these are technically part of her body, especially the dress bottom.

Light has the powers, physics, ext... of a toon as well as its weaknesses.

Toon Regeneration: Its said that its nearly impossible to kill a toon, and thats true in the case of Light. While she still takes damage as normal and can be knocked out like normal, she can regenerate from any aliment, including being vaporized, her mind shattered or erased, her spirit taken out of her body, ext... She regenerates by 'popping' back to her normal state after a bit of taking no damage, sometimes having bandages or something on her that indicates what she was last hit by. While she can regenerate from pretty much any state, more extreme states or supernatural states take her more time to regenerate from. States that cause her to transform but deal no damage take her an exceptionally long time to regenerate from.

Toon Physics: Physics affect Light differently since she is a cartoon. This means...

• Light's body 'stretches', usually in moments of rapid acceleration or if she is being pulled on from two sides. Her normal movements look cartoony as well. Her body can stretch and grow to hit something, but she can't stretch more than 1/5th of a meter in this way.
• If Light walks off a high point, such as a cliff, but is unaware that she is walking off of an edge, she will continue to walk on air as if it was ground. When she realizes she is no longer on solid ground, she will fall like normal.
• While falling, Light can stop when approaching the ground to readjust where she will land, before continuing to fall at the rate she was falling before she stopped.
• Injuries affect her differently than normal. For example, being caught up in an explosive causes her to appear ash covered before possibly breaking apart into a pile of ash, or being crushed causing her to become a pancake, ext...
• Light can't bleed.
• If Light is hit by a sharp object or a hot object on her backside, she'll be propelled away from the object, usually on fire if it was a hot object.
• If Light places her finger inside the barrel of a gun, she will cause the gun to misfire.
• Eating very spicy things will let Light breath fire, while also running around wildly looking for water.
• If stuck in hostile environments for long periods, Light will adapt to the environment and be able to function in it like normal.
• For some reason, her eyeballs are far, far more durable than the rest of her body.
• Light can pick up enchanted/DNA objects that other people usually wouldn't be allowed to pick up. However she will not gain the benefit from said objects unless she herself would fit the criteria for the enchantment/lock.
• Light can parkour on walls for extended periods before falling.
• Light has full control over her body pieces if she is chopped up. Sometimes she will form into tiny versions of herself is she is smashed or shattered, reforming after a bit of time running around.
• Light herself is extremely resistant to reality changing attacks.
• Its very obvious to those around her when Light is dizzy, confused, knocked out, stunned, has an idea, ext.. due to various things appearing over her head depending on the state.
• Things get confusing if Light is chased into a hallway with many doors...
• If chasing something that is taking off from the ground, Light can step on the air for a time in order to chase them, but will eventually fall.
• Can dress up in a disguise to fool the weak minded.
• You REALLY don't wanna eat her unless you want her walking around inside your head freely.
• A Shadow of Impending Doom appears below Light when an object is falling on her.
• Light leaves an imprint of herself if she impacts the ground from a high height. Ditto if she runs through a wall.
• Light can adapt to extreme environments after while.
• Among other nuances I might have forgotten.

Toon Strength: Light can exhibit enormous strength for her small frame. This strength is tied to her emotions, and if shes sad, she loses a massive amount of strength.

Toon Speed: Light exhibits short bursts of speed, using it to either dodge attacks or run at decent speeds. While she can dodge bullets with no problems with this, actual running speed Light is notably faster, but not anywhere near speedster territory (not that much faster than a top speed car). She can only dodge a few attacks every so often, and only if shes aware of the attacks. Outside of this, Light isn't very fast at all.
If Light is in a state of quantom flux (She isn't viewed by any party), Light gains incredible speed until she is seen by something. Light can't gain this part of the ability for a short period after being seen.

ACME Magic Satchel: Light can store and pull various objects from her dress. Stored objects she can call upon at will, however objects she pulls from her dress without storing them first are completely random, are often cartoony or have a horrendous backfire effect, have an ACME logo, and as the name suggests, usually (But not always) explode in her face if held too long, even non lethal things such as pies! Storing a random object doesn't allow her to call it at will, and she can only pull a few random objects every 10 minutes, the cooldown reduced by her putting back said random objects. Light can't store living objects.

Portable Hole: Light can pull a black circular hole from her dress, allowing her to teleport to anywhere within her sightlines upon placing and entering it. The entrance and exit holes can be placed on anything, including air or space, but there is a noticable delay of her coming out of the exit hole if its not located on a surface. Only Light and objects stored in her Magic Satchel can go inside or exit her holes.

Toon Touch/Reality Siphon: Being a toon, Light reacts to normal reality strangely and tends to bring things to her state of reality. When touching something, it is unable to receive energy from outside sources. This gives her touch some sort of 'creepy' feeling. Additionally if shes in constant contact with something for extremely extended periods it will start to go through the stages of turning into a toon with no beneficial powers, and eventually fade from reality altogether (A massive amount of time. Probably a few weeks.), maybe going to a different dimension entirely? If Light stops touching the object at any point, it will regain its reality over a short period. Until an object has fully regained their reality, they can't receive energy from outside sources. This power is always on and Light has no control over its intensity.

It should also be noted that while Light herself is more of a fun loving fighter that tends to annoy rather than destroy her opponents, if she is made extremely angry, she may decide to give her opponent A Bad Time. You really don't wanna make her that angry. Seriously.

| Limitations |

• Light takes extra damage from attacks.
• Light is weak to gas, poison, ext type attacks, and it doesn't take much of a substance to have an effect on her.
• Light has an exceptionally difficult time breaking herself free of anything that binds her movement. Being encased in ice, tied down, stuck in a net, ext... Duct Tape is especially bad. Most of the time Light needs outside aid to get out of this stuff.
• A vast majority of her powers are tied to her emotional state, and most of them don't work well if she is feeling sad or depressed.
• Light plays with her opponents instead of fights them seriously unless extremely angry. If she is annoyed with someone she'll start showing Genre Savvy type of playful fighting however.
• Light is very gullible due to her silly/playful/lazy persona, especially if she doesn't know or think poorly of someone. Shes not easy to directly turn on her friends though. She is also easy to talk down from a fight unless she is giving someone "A Bad Time."
• Light often tries to be friends with her opponents if she thinks she can.
• Light is unable to use Energy based weapons due to Cartoon physics, and ballistic based weapons have less power and speed if used by her. Bombs still have their full power, but a drastically reduced blast radius.
• Objects falling tend to home in slightly on Light, showing their Shadows of Impending Doom under her. Likewise occasionally Light will be hit by a falling anvil, safe, or piano out of nowhere.
• Light is unlucky, especially if the result will cause slapstick.

| Personality |
Light is a carefree, playful, lax, honest sort of person. She tends to view everything as a game and as such, usually has a poor grasp on long standing consequences. She also tends to try to be friends with anyone she finds interesting and isn't much in the habit of making enemies with people unless they wrong her first. If playing a prank on someone, she tends to 'catch' them before it goes too far, IE. If she trips you, she'll catch you before you hit the ground. Due to her obscene regeneration, Light doesn't see self danger in most situations, unless they are ropes, whips, or other bondage stuff, which she is afraid of.

While coming off as goofy, snarky, or mischievous, under her playful persona is an incredibly intelligent person who will give you A Bad Time if you make her angry. Course shes sorta lazy in that regard, so it takes a lot to get her to that point. Even so, she is very Genre Savvy and fully understands that she is very durable and you probably not so much.

Light isn't a fan of talking about her past, especially before she made the Void her home. All she tends to say is that it was a dreary barbaric place where things weren't very nice and that she didn't have parents or much of a childhood. Then one day an eldridge abomination was unleashed by some dumb idiots and ate her world. This flung her into the Void, but she doesn't talk much about that in detail either.

After that she gets much more cheery and tells about what its like being in the Void, a place where you can see the myriad of physical worlds, interact with the spirits that came from them, and often hear very interesting stories about life in the worlds they came from or other fun stuff. She then tends to go off and list some of the adventures shes had in different worlds, opting to be very vague about it as to not accidentally cause harm to any friends she may have there.

And of course this new world she found herself in, with all the superpowered beings and everything, was her next adventure. She was easy to convince to join the superhero program, as she often thought being a hero was more fun than the villain anyway. More freedom, less bondage, and more friends! Fairly simple reasons to be sure, but strong non the less. Plus, she isn't too keen to have what happened in her first world to come to pass again...

The thing is that as both a vampire and werewolf, Fenris would have a veritable smorgasbord of powers, which would sit very poorly with your three-power limit.

The way I could think of making it work would to be grouping various abilities under a single power, such as "werewolf physiology."

I mean, I think hes ok with my character, and her power is "toonforce" which has a massive subsidary of powers and weaknesses behind it. You could just use 2 slots, one for "Lycanthrophy" and one for "Vampirism" and just define the powers of each in a sub catagory if you so choose.

I know I have to because Toonforce isn't well documented.
