Hey, which hero would fit really well as an archeologist in the vein of Indiana jones?

Actually that sounds like a fun game. Figuring out which hero best fits in to replace the main protagonist in films.

I know Black Widow would be a fun Bond replacement. xD OMG just imagine her getting the guy at the end of every film. xD

Seeing how unhinged Penelope was, seeing Phoebe and Tsura talk about their parents alongside Jasper more or less dropping his anger alongside his flames, Light sighed. Getting up a bit to look at Phoebe and Tsura, she pointed at them. "Why are you saying all this stuff about what your parents might do? You have powers and brains, take more confidence in yourselves and what you can do." Light then crossed her arms and huffed very audibly. "I really don't get this using parents for a threat thing." she mumbled.

Not too concerned about Penelope, who has shown very little competence so far, Light said. "I will say this whole situation is like a TV show unfolding in front of my eyes! Saturday morning cartoon villain childishly captures heroes and tries to convert them to their side with equally as corny dialog from the heroes! What will happen next?" Light said in a fake dramatic fashion, doing equally as dramatic gestures and posing.

Has anyone played Civ 6? I hear the AI in that one is worse than Civ 5 once you go past prince difficulty.

@Archmage MC dc has never used power dempering except through the use of magic which is still extremely rare. I think you really don't know much about dc

No I'm 100% sure there was some DCAU episode where the heroes had to infiltrate the villain prison to get some info from one of the villains. I know that because Killer Frost was one of the baddies of that episode. They wore collars that removed their powers.

I'm pretty sure it was a filler episode though.

Light has already revealed her weakness to duct tape, PLus Light is very weak to knockout gas. (And Light is basically just going to lounge about the plane at this point, Penelope hasn't done anything to bother her since the ting up bit was an illusion and Light isn't very aggressive unless you give her a good reason to be.) And I dunno about Tsura. Magnents maybe? Let me think about that one. Or just trap her in a container with no windows. Her powers don't stop that from what I can tell.

But she's aware that her mind control isn't as strong as it could be. The lock-in helps protect her ship as it does prevent them escaping.

Is Hydra or AIM in this world? Could have a super ship with lasers and stuff on it from those guys to repel the rescue team or something and additionally have some stunning things onboard or something too.

First of all.

The power suppression was developed in this roleplay when it was under a different GM. But I thought it was a good idea to not destroy the school.

Secondly I'm not going to make it easy for the captives to escape. If you can figure out a different way to prevent this escape tell me and I'll take it into consideration.

Thirdly, it's necessary for this. But I will take into consideration any ideas. You do not need to bring up the storyline of the comics and the ideas of them to say it's bad writing. While this is, yes, based on Dc and Marvel, we aren't strictly staying to any sort of story they had. After all, some of the characters parents might not be alive in the comics but are alive here.

No I'm saying your a great writer and don't need to use the "I'm at a brick wall" sorta devices because your too good for them.

Pretty easy to fix. Mind control stops active abilities, each captive has their own weaknesses, Penelope got some files from the Academy on her captive's weaknesses and can exploit those. Maybe unintentionally too if that fits her character better.

Didn't know that was from an older RP though with a different GM. Makes more sense knowing that.

Honestly I'm sure you can write well and don't need to rely on a power nullifier mcguffin that even the sources are trying to retcon away and what basically equates to bad writing when used.

Honestly power dampening without it making sense like via a mcguffin device, is just awful writing and shouldn't even be a thing. even DC and Marvel, who made such things, are trying to distance themselves from them as they know they make fans angry when they're used due to the bad writing they cause. Though DC uses it far more often than Marvel as they tend to have the less talented writers. Not always, but usually.

Besides theres no reason for Caits to even need to use such a thing when the characters in this RP have clearly defined weaknesses and whatnot to take advantage of xD.
