The original Ryloth, before Lucas stepped in and screwed up the planet, was disturbingly dark. West End Games, which named and designed the Twi'lek people for the first Star Wars Role Playing Game created a whole ecology around the Twi'Lek and it was them being underground dwellers, raiding and feeding on one another in pure darkness and that bestial nature of the Twi'lek that I loved.

Did you all know that the Twi'lek originally only came in green? Bib Fortuna was an albino and an outcast due to his mutation. The purple, blue and other colours were added later in various comic books. They also changed the entire structure of the planet at some point, turning it from a tidally locked world to a desert planet. This, was a bit frustrating since the West End Games guys put a lot of thought into the Twi'lek. They determined that the Twi'lek lack of hair, the ear cones and the lekku would indicate a subterranean evolution. A sensible supposition. In a sense, Twi'lek were like "naked mole rats". Being subterranean hair was not useful and never evolved but their lekku served as a delicate instrument in detecting the movement of other beings in the darkness.

Brief History: Aala was born on Ryloth and a more vicious and less hospitable place you'd be hard pressed to locate. Ryloth is a tidally locked world, only the most affluent of its people live on the slender strip of arable land between the scorching sun's rays on one side of the planet and the frozen wastes on the other. Even that small area is only capable of supporting life through the usage of weather altering technologies that keep the super storms that would result from the hot and cold air masses from opposite sides of the planet colliding.

Most Twi'leks, Aala included, live underground and prey upon each other and live their entire lives without seeing sunlight. The lekku pick up minute vibrations and help guide the Twi'lek through the darkness. Aala was the daughter of the clan chief but she was sold for a hand blaster, a device costing little more than a few hundred credits when she herself was valued in the thousands. A good trade for the smugglers that purchased her.

She then spent some time on a transport amongst many other slaves, moving at a mere x12 light speed where she and her fellow slaves dealt with some sort of creature aboard the slave ship. Unarmed, it was only by luring it into an airlock and ejecting it into hyperspace that she and her fellow slaves survived.

Weeks later at the auction she was purchased and subsequently given instructions by a mysterious party. She was informed that if she made good spying on Palta the Hutt she would be well recompensed and allowed to go free before being returned to auction and purchased by the great Hutt. Now, all she needs is some damaging information, damning enough to destroy the Hutt.

Considering this is a sandbox I think my interest will depend on submitted characters. Especially since I don't know if we're doing movie Jedi or novel/comic jedi with force fields and blaster bolts coming out if the eyes.

Biography: Lucy was born in a whorehouse, an accident, one of many that end up as a result of the services offered there. Her mother, weakened by syphilis, died in childbirth. She was raised by the women there in a communal fashion, working at doing the dishes, sweeping the floors and the like until she was of age to be brought into the trade herself. She once dreamed that she was the daughter of a wealthy prince and that he would some day rescue her. Those days are long behind her. Now she just hopes she'll find herself a nice suitor before her charms fade. Luckily, she's still young and has some years left before that becomes a problem.
