Never heard of that one. Is it Eberrese? I know those of Abeir-Toril, Ansalon and Oerth and Athas has no deities to speak of.
Or... I could gift him with his own personal nymph all his own!
*grins* Oh no, Assallya is a sweet innocent dove and would never harm the hair upon an innocent. She's a lovely young witch that helps beleaguered lovers into fulfilling their vows to one another...

Of course... those kids happen to belong to two rival noble houses ...and a third faction has hired her to "kidnap" the adoring couple so that the two houses would blame each other and go to war but no, she hasn't harmed anyone.
Assallya contemplated. This Darkmoon had unwittingly unveiled a lot of information. Some of it seemed a bit far fetched but was within the realm of possibility. More importantly, if such were true there was an incredible wealth of treasure on hand that she might be able to avail herself of. There were so many possibilities. Maybe she could enslave the woman and have this Esmeralda teach her all she knew. Alternatively, she could make a grab for control of the inn. She'd run a brothel with some success in the past. What was an inn compared with that?

"Becoming a queen comes with many burdens," Assallya commented, "Much of the power gained does not make up for that lost. Your freedom, for example, is the first sacrifice."
Her ring! Assallya found herself momentarily surprised but she was well schooled in maintaining a calm demeanor. One couldn't pull off a confidence game if one was easily rattled and she was incredibly adept at the art of the bluff. Still, she was shocked the woman knew of her magical ring. She had secreted it away, turned it invisible and placed it upon one of her toes so as to maximize any chance it would be overlooked. She had, on occasion, run afoul of assassins and thieves and doing such had ensured they didn't loot the ring from her before it finished its work.

"The ranger, pretty as he is, is a ranger," Assallya replied to the girl, "I prefer soft silk sheets to rutting like an animal in the dirt. No, when I sleep upon a wolf it will be as a rug, not some ranger's companion. Now that sorceress... or the cavalier. They do appear more- cultured."

Not that she didn't think the ranger was handsome, nor that she wouldn't lie with him should they travelled together. Noble heroes were more apt to protect and possibly lay their life down for a woman they'd developed an affection for after all.

Taking a sip of the proffered wine, Assallya let the liquid wash her tongue, appraising it's quality before swallowing. Apparently, since the woman knew her name and of her device there was only one possibility. She had aroused someone's interest. Someone had been watching her previously or performed incredibly intricate magic. Even a Legend Lore spell was incapable of discerning something like the location of her hidden ring.

"You have my name dear lady," she added, "but I not yours."
An elf that hates nature and knows nothing of nymphs beyond what is read in books. Gotta love it.
Assallya didn't know what to make of the small inn and she was deciding what to do when she caught sight of the trio headed in their direction. It took her a long moment to recognize the figures approaching. At first she thought they were elves, the skin, the kilted eyes, the tapered ears and the mystical nature of them. It was with horror she came to realize what they were. Nymphs. To even behold one was to become blind and a single kiss from one was to experience a bliss so profound that the heart could not survive being without it. They were creatures of the Fae, cousins to the elvishkind. Why some of them chose to make their home in the world of men instead of the lands of the Fae was beyond the ken of man... and then there was the blindness!

-and yet, she was still able to see...

Overcoming a sense of initial shock, the blue eyed sorceress broke her lingering gaze with the deadly nymphs. Then, sheepishly, brought her gaze up to meet them. A nymph could suppress her power but Assallya didn't want to deal with the results of one of them slipping and losing their grip on the ability.

She wasn't very comfortable with the giant tree either. That stepped out afterwards, in the wake of the three girls. The tall lanky thing lumbered out of the forests and, according to the nymphs, offered to carry her within. Who was she to argue with that? As much as she despised trees and forests it certainly beat attempting to climb down from the top of the tall wagon.

"Thank you Traben," she said as he lifted her into the treant's arms.
*giggles* My last post stated "one". It's meant to move along footpaths. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if I mentioned two in the past.
One thing I learned while researching "arc fire", my own electricity person, is that comic book electricity people are bloody impossible. Electricity is always drawn towards negatively charged objects, most often of which is the ground. Unless carried by a gas, a tether or a laser beam electricity always turns towards the ground or large chunks of metal.

Then again, Superman and other bricks can't lift half of the things they do. You can't lift a building or a supertanker. They'd collapse under their own weight! Thus, all bricks must be telekinetic? A good example is hulk trying to stop a train with his bare hands. The limiting factor is the friction caused by the surface area of his feet on the ground. I did the math years ago (and I'm ashamed I can't do it anymore) and it was several kilometers. Needless to say, here's hoping the bridge isn't out.
It's a writing thing. I do plenty of research and then I play the bastard and try to poke holes in my own works. Once you've made yourself cry you know you're good at critiquing yourself.
