My first and most important question. How is this an x-man?
Kichirou, Ichiko Road to the Village

Ichiko turned at the sound of a voice. A young man with a mop of unkempt black hair was behind her a distance clad in a black kimono sporting grey accents. Her first thought was ninja for the colouring would blend nicely into the dark of night but the presence of daisho, the twin pairing of Katana and Wakizashi at his hip made the claim samurai or ronin for only those that ruled where allowed the honoured distinction of carrying those particular weapons. That meant a high birth.

Pausing, the lovely woman allowed the young man to catch up but took the precaution of changing the grip on the parasol's handle, preparing to draw the long straight blade hidden within. One never knew with ronin, some had long ago abandoned honour but this one did not yet have the haggard appearance befitting a ronin. Turning, she let herself be seen as she was seeing him and began idly turning her parasol.

As he approached she sensed something of the young man, something more than an abundance of qi. What that was she could not be certain. He could be anything, from a kitsune to a kensai, but she couldn't be specific. Whatever abilities the man possessed they were, for the moment, hidden to her. She considered readying an Ofudo scroll in defense but such could be determined as quite rude and if the boy was a local lord she did not wish to insult him. Samurai could be benevolent but they could also be cruel, even going so far as to test their blades on the innocent to determine their sharpness.

Bowing deferentially, Ichiko greeted the traveller.

"Greetings Honorable Samurai," she began, "I am Ichiko. May I be of service lord?"
Interested- and you might want to include a field in the Character Sheet asking the question, what crime they were "pardoned" of and if they are actually guilty of the crime accused.

I rather suspect, given how criminals in prison gossip, and the guards like to tease and create nicknames for prisoners, that everyone is likely to know the crimes committed by their neighbours.
Ichiko, on one of the many roads headed towards the town

Ichiko paused at the crossroads. Crossroads were magical places, roads carried the qi of men from province to province, from town to town. Many spirits supped quietly upon such energy invisibly or while none were watching. Currently, the crossroads were empty. This was hardly surprising since many spirits cowered from the presence of an Onmyoji. They feared being bound, banished or possibly even killed. An Onmyoji dwelled in the realm of spirits, most protected the world of man from the malevolent. Rarely they protected the world of spirits from man. Some, unfortunately, were as bad as the worst oni.

The blonde woman's long tresses rolled down over one shoulder and she twirled the parasol she held in her small hands. She was wrapped in a susohiki kimono, the crimson fabric carefully detailed with golden flowers. Kneeling, one long slender leg slipping out from beneath the kimono's skirt she reached into a small bag and upended it, casting several long lacquered sticks to the dust. Green eyes examined the pattern the sticks made and after several moments she gathered up the sticks. The sticks had told her where she was next needed.

Setting herself on the indicated road she placed one sandaled foot before the other, two finger's width tall wooden struts keeping her bare feet from the dust of the road. She was curious as to where fortune was leading her this time.
That's fairly common lately. The movie houses now do that so that they can gauge audience reactions and possibly make some last minute edits to the movie before dropping it in their own backyard. In the past, it was Canada. Canada would get all the movies two weeks before the United States.

I hadn't expected a tie-in before the movie but there was a rumour going around that the episode would introduce Captain America. Not that the movie needs it from the reviews I've read!
Doesn't premier until Friday here in the wilds of beer, bacon, and alpha flight.

I'm watching agents as we speak, wondering if they'll be any relevance to the movie.
Assallya didn't particularly relish the idea of the pseudo-dragon or faerie dragon or whatever it was perched upon her shoulder but she had to admit the little drake was being very careful not to extend his claws. That was a good sign. At the same time, she didn't really like the idea of serving anyone, not after being a slave to her Pasha for several decades. Then again, she wasn't likely to succeed at casting anything at the little creature. He'd feel the enchantment building in her, feel the arcane syllables resonating in her lungs through his claws before they were given voice. Further, she doubted when he huffed and puffed it would be fairie dust.

Moving slowly, letting the small dragon see her every movement, the blonde elf moved to scratch at the little blue dragon's white beard with one ebony painted fingernail. Hopefully he wouldn't grow too fond of her tresses. Dragons and their kin simply couldn't resist the allure of burnished gold and her hair had that luminescent quality.

"Sounds like a lot of work," Assallya answered him, "stealing is much easier."

It was an honest truth. After all, why lie to the little thing? She'd been caught peering through the keyhole after all. She would also normally add that murdering also was a fair bit easier but rather assumed the pseudo-dragon would not approve of her saying such a thing.

"What sort of power are we talking about?"
I bumped the interest check by the way. It had fallen off the first page.
Let's see, what do we need? A bounty hunter? A necromancer priestess? An archer?
