Everything I believe in boils down to one simple idea. I don’t hurt people. If I find myself in a position where everyone is counting on me, and I make a choice that causes someone else more pain? I’m failing myself by failing them. My choices are bigger than me. Even to people who have no idea who I am.

I don’t make promises in positions like this often, because I know there are usually people who can take care of the problems themselves. In this situation, where I might be the only one? It’s worth everything. If it wasn’t, I might as well be worth nothing.
