Sounds good! I think human form with mundane, cat form when singing at all, other powers/other shapeshifting only when sung deliberately to activate (like singing about being a bodybuilder then becoming one etc). I think that should work.

So being avatar doesn't now allow pets to be used, but need to be avatar and singing still.

And also don't believe that to be a bad idea, sounds good :)

Only character idea I have currently is similar to Coupe, so hopefully no one will mind a bladed assassin joining the crew haha. Either that, or I could go I could with a Power Rangers transformation power? I'll need some time to think on it

Thanks Auragreedia! With the singing-powers correlation, it's kinda like the shapeshifting changes last quite a while after singing, but Kit would eventually shift back. Whether that's the avatar (cat) form, or normal (human) form, would depend on the lore of how you'd want the unmasking to work. I originally planned for the base to be cat form when creating the character but then realised that you may have had something else in mind with the lore of the world.

For the other two parts of Kit's powers, it would last as long as the song would. Singing pauses can exist, but if Kit can't keep going then neither can the powers (minus shapeshifting ofc).

Long story short for the awakening, Kit's viewers convince Kit to remove the mask, so they did. The very next moment Kit sung on that stream the house power blew out and Kit found themself in a different body. A cat humanoid one.

Lemme know if there's anything else you'd like to know :D

I think for the shapeshifting effects, Kit would probably just morph back into their human state! The cat form can just be their default shapeshift form, if that makes any sense. Maybe for shorter transformation durations, they shift back into cat form? I'll leave it up to you

And thank you, that clears it up a bit! I'm assuming they'll have to sing (mostly) to maintain her avatar state instead of one verse and done kinda thing?
Also sorry if I got your character's name (and gender, I keep defaulting to fem pronouns on accident, also my bad) wrong, my brain somehow misread their name;; my bad

I'll see what I can do for their awakening scene! I'm thinking of starting off everyone mostly separate until a merge point, but if that sounds like a bad idea or if you'd like something different, let me know

@Jamz For Kat, I was just wondering if her powers/avatar state rely on her singing the whole way through or is like a "she sings a heavy verse, then she's transformed indefinitely" kinda deal? I like the character, just a bit confused on how the avatar trigger works exactly in tandem with her music

Also love what you did with her powers, I was reading through it earlier and I was like "ohhh, I see what you're doing here!" It might just be my interpretation, but I figured that her shapeshifter/illusion powers played into her double life as a rapper and her normal family life and thought it was pretty cool

Features & Foibles
L is a strange, secretive guy with a love for sweets. He has plenty of strange habits and poor social skills (sits strangely with his feet on the seat, though he claims it boosts his mental processes; bites his fingernails, eats with his mouth open) due to his secretive and shut-in nature. Despite this, he is relatively polite and compassionate, though he prefers to work alone most of the time. Very monotonous and can come off as uncaring.

Backstory Laid Bare
Before being pulled from his universe, L was in the middle of the Kira case. Specifically, he was working with Light Yagami and the rest of the taskforce to locate the third Kira. L had hand-cuffed himself to Light to monitor his actions due to the suspicion of him being Kira, though Light's suddenly personality change had rendered this mostly meaningless. He was pulled from his universe a day before cornering the third Kira alongside the rest of the taskforce.

Necrogenesis: A Not-So-Typical Zombie Outbreak [SHUTTERED]

Tony stands awkwardly in the line, hands in his short pockets as he aimlessly looks around. He's in a graphic t-shirt, a pair of sunglasses propped up on his head and not over his eyes--he thought it made him look cool. One hand is firmly on his luggage. He doesn't register the older man talking to him at first, too busy tuning out the news, but he's quick to make something up. "Oh, yeah. Probably the heat." He scans the old guy a bit, mainly staring at his sun hat before making eye contact again. "It'll probably get better on the ship, as long as it's not also made of glass."

He puts his sunglasses down, the sun beginning to agitate his eyes, and wipes some sweat from his brow. "Honestly, I'm just hoping the AC in there is good."

Thank god the line was starting to pick up, his legs were starting to ache.
