Chapter One: The Calm Before The Storm

The frame of the velvet-lined chair creaked slightly as Rath leaned back, his feet resting on the edge of his desk as he read over some documents. It was one of the more tedious parts of being a high-class devil but it had to be done. A disorganized and uninformed household just wasn't acceptable under his leadership. It was simply terrifying imagining all of the paperwork Alice was forced to deal with. Her brother better suck up to her big time for putting this burden on her especially when she had yet to claim all of her pieces.

A streak of sunlight cut in through the curtains, another reminder that it was the start of another day. He laid the stack of papers down on the desk towards the middle, before stretching his arms out and removing his legs from the desk to sit in a normal position. With Alice's attention split between two points, He would need to keep an extra eye out for threats. A stray devil had already decided to move in, perhaps an omen, but Alice and her household would be more than capable. What he feared was that this stray devil was only the first of many dangers that are going to try and capitalize on the weakened defenses of this territory.

For that reason, Rath was actively searching for suitable candidates to complete his set of evil pieces. His right elbow rested on the desk as he laid his head onto his hand, the opposite one picking up one of his bishop pieces and twirling it between his fingers in an agitated fashion. There was talk of even some Devil Houses that wanted to take advantage of the disappearance of the two love birds, a rumor that Rath managed to catch while back at a party hosted by his family. The very thought pissed him off. He and Alice were destined to be rivals until the end of time and he wouldn't let a single soul interfere with that.

Devilish Determination (A Highschool DxD RP)

The merging of the two households, Piarit and Corrumpi, has the underworld in a stir including Rath of the heir to the prestigious Drevarri family of devils. Soon the territories of Seattle and London would fall under one name but until then Alice, of House Piarit, is in charge of both of them as her brother's honeymoon has left no one with a clue of their whereabouts. Many wonder whether or not Alice can handle this on her own, and that includes Rath. Despite being rivals since childhood, the two have established an unique friendship and understanding.

Both of their households have yet to be filled which is only inviting outside threats to move in. Unwilling to let his friend and second home fall, he is in an hurry to find the remaining members of his set. A feeling grows larger everyday in his gut of a danger that has yet to surface. In any case, the merging between the two families is the perfect moment to get ahead of Alice and prove his superiority once and for all.

Appearance:
Rath stand at an average 6' 1" but his size is increased by the muscles that constant training has provided. His typical attire is normally casual formal wear but he can be found wearing athletic-style clothes when he exercises or trains. A cocky or coy look is usually what Rath's has, framed by a mess of lovely red hair. His gray-blue eyes have a striking quality to them

Furi - A young fairy dragon that provides Rath with different buffs and access to self-healing

Notable Magic:
- Circles of Hell: A magic attack capable of incredible destruction, Rath releases his raw magical energy in several waves in which escape is near impossible.
- Collapse: The land around Rath becomes unstable and forms large fissures
- Wrath of the Damned: His strength is amplified by the amount of damage taken
- Void Scar: A tear between realms that nullifies magic attacks
- Fortress – A simple but powerful defensive magic which creates a dome of protection around the caster.

Bio:
Rath is the next heir to the House of Dravarri, a devil family with considerable weight and prestige. He is also the only son out of four siblings, meaning he has three younger sisters who cause nothing but headaches for him. He grew up alongside Alice and a natural rivalry grew between them along with a great friendship. This rivalry persists today, where Rath manages the occult club at the college where Alice is also stationed. Rath is hardly serious unless the situation warrants it and tries to make tense situations or arguments less hostile when he can.

Desmond did not share the slight enthusiasm Baradiel showcased, whether real or faked, and simply replied in his typcial serious way "I need to grab Ikaruga first." He darted back into his room, and came shortly back out with a katana sheathed in a silver-decorated sheathe attached to his hip "Ready." He stepped onto the teleportation rune, right palm resting on the top of the sword's hilt. A small nod was sent Alphonse's way as they vanished from the Seattle HQ and reappeared in the London HQ.

Once there, Desmond stood in place for a few seconds to get his bearings. Crimson eyes looked around the office with interest though he didn't appear to be that impressed. Luxuries were something he learned to live largely without "Lady Alice should be staying here." Desmond spoke taking a few steps around the room, Alice deserved only the best in his opinion.

He thumbed the top of the hilt idly, tension clearly present in the way his body was stiff. It didn't sit well with him to be so far away from Alice, even if he had access to teleportation. At this far distance away, protecting her would prove difficult should she require him. "Let's get this patrol over quickly." With Ikaruga, his mother's blade, at his side he would make fast work of any threat they found. The blade had taken down many fallen angels under his mother's swordsmanship, and developed an almost sentient thirst for their blood it felt like.
