My issue with GMing is once the novelty of the new idea wears off, I have no idea what to do next, and everyone is looking at me to progress the narrative.

I still haven’t watched TLOK. It’s on my long list of shows and movies to binge.

Bio

Gay, he/him, Autistic

I’m Crimson Flame and I’m addicted to RPing. But sometimes ADHD kicks in, and it takes me longer to reply to things than it should. If I’m taking too long to respond, feel free to say something. Just don’t be rude about it.

There are a bunch of RPs I like. Pokémon, Digimon, Fantasy, Superhero, it would take too long to list them all. I’m not a fan of Horror or Apocalypse settings though.

I have a particular type of character I like making. Look through my Character Sheet thread, and see if you notice what a lot of my characters have in common.

Zach barely registered Starfire’s voice at first. His ears were still ringing from the impact, from Toyman’s shouting, the sight of Thor dropping out of the sky. For one second he just stood there, frozen. Then Starfire said his name. That did it.

“Oh… yeah. Yep. I got him. Totally got him,” Zach blurted, already jogging toward the crater Thor had made. The bravado in his voice sounded fake even to him, but he kept talking anyway. Talking helped him not panic.

Thor looked… not dead. Which was a very low bar, but Zach was clinging to it. “Okay, okay, step one, don’t panic. Step two, remember literally anything useful about magic beyond party tricks,” he muttered as he dropped to one knee beside him. Zach swallowed hard. “You are absolutely not allowed to die on my first night doing hero-adjacent things,” he told Thor, voice quieter now. “That would be… phenomenally bad PR.”

He hovered a shaky hand over Thor’s chest, then pointed the wand carefully.

[color=darkviolet]“elbats...” A pause. Then more confidently: “elbats yats...”

Violet light spilled from the tip. It settled over Thor like a faint aura, sinking into him in slow pulses. Zach didn’t fully know what the spell was doing. Stabilize, stay, hold together, that was the intent, and magic seemed to care a lot about intent.

Thor’s breathing evened slightly.

Zach exhaled a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. “Okay. Good. That’s good. We like breathing. Breathing is festive.”

But there was still the matter of murder Santa to deal with. “Still a supervillain with explosives. Forgot that part for half a second.” He stood, planted his feet, and aimed the wand skyward. “Snoitcartsid etaerc!”

The air above the park fractured into flashes of violet lightning. Not real bolts, not Thor-level divine weather, but convincing enough. They crackled loudly, bending light so Toyman would see movement everywhere at once. At the same time, faint duplicates of Thor, glowing, upright, very much not cratered.. flickered into existence at the edges of the sky. Illusions again. Imperfect, slightly translucent, but in the chaos of night combat? Good enough to force hesitation.

Zach swayed when the spell locked in. “Okay… wow… multitasking magic? Extremely overrated,” he panted, steadying himself with a hand on his knee.

He glanced back at Thor, making sure he was still ok. “Alright,” Zach muttered. “Everyone stay alive. Especially me. I am way too pretty to become a tragic origin story… Also my parents would kill me. Which feels redundant.”

@LG I saw you visited my profile.

Lucian blinked in mild shock at the lineup of teams, then again at the munny pouches. For a second he just stared, then hurried forward and picked one up carefully. “Th-thank you,” he said, bowing a little out of habit before catching himself and straightening up. “We won’t waste it. I promise.”

When Aerith and Yuffie left, he looked down at the pouch in his hands, fingers tightening around the drawstring. The weight of it made everything feel more real. He glanced over at Morgan, then at the others, taking in the room one more time. “So… guess this is it,” he said quietly, with a small nervous smile on his face. “Different worlds, different paths. But we’ll come back. All of us. And we’ll bring everyone home.” He tried to sound inspiring and hopeful, but even he wasn’t sure…

Lucian woke to the smell of food drifting through the hotel, warm and familiar. For a moment, he stayed still, staring at the ceiling, letting himself pretend, that he was back on Destiny Islands. That it was another normal morning. That did not last long…

When he reached the cafeteria and saw Donald and Daisy cooking, something in him softened immediately “Oh… you didn’t have to do all this,” he said quietly, though the small smile on his face gave him away. “It smells amazing. Thank you.”

He hovered awkwardly near the counter before heard Daisy talk about Alias leaving Wonderland, about Olympus. Lucian froze for a second. “Olympus…?” he repeated softly. Relief and worry mixed together. Alias was alive. That mattered more than anything. He let out a breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding. “That’s good. That means he’s okay. Or… okay enough to keep going.” Lucian took one last steadying breath and nodded to himself. “Okay,” he murmured softly. “We’ll meet him there.”
I want to keep using Spotlight, but I’m not the best GM either… 😬
And I sent my character in. Hopefully he gets in.
