RISING UP TO THE CHALLENGE OF OUR RIVALS!

Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

Hello Everyone!

I'm a huge fan of Pokemon, and already have some experience in running Pokemon based RPs. The one I'm thinking about doing now is more on the classical side of things. I will post for NPCs and decide what Pokemon pop up in the wild (things of that nature).

Here are some details:

--- This RP will include Pokemon from every generation thus far.
--- I spent a lot of time developing a map. Check it out below.

--- To start this adventure, I need two people to join. In this case, I want these two people to already have experience posting with each other. You two will be 'rivals'. You are not allowed to post again until AFTER your rival posts (or a certain amount of time passes). You will both start at town number 1 (to be named later).

--- Looking at the map, you may notice that it can be divided into seven main areas, three areas on the mainland and four island based areas surrounding. In each of these areas, there will be one gym. So there are seven gyms. These gym leaders have Pokemon based on Generation not type. These areas will primarily have Pokemon from their own generation, but they may also have Pokemon from other generations as well.

--- I will post after every user post. I will use some advanced hidden dice mechanics to decide things such as wild Pokemon encounters and trainer challenges. When you/we are battling or you're trying to catch a Pokemon, we will use this site's simple dice mechanic so that you can plainly see the results.

--- In this RP, we are going to be ignoring things such as move sets and stats for PvNPC encounters. There are only two things that matter in a Pokemon battle against an NPC: typing and level. Everything else is up to chance through the dice roll system. Be reasonable with your posts though. Don't say, "Pikachu use bubble beam!" And a level 5 Pikachu shouldn't be using Thunder. Reference Bulbapedia if you need help.

--- If you wish to battle against your rival however, the two of you can sort that out in Pokemon Showdown. Again, be realistic when choosing your move sets; reference Bulbapedia.

--- There will be healing items, Pokeballs, and a few other special items as well. You can acquire most battle/hold items however you see fit. Maybe you find them in a random crate or a person gifts you one. They are only used in Pokemon Showdown anyways.

So if you have any questions, or already have a buddy that you want to sign up with, let me know! Thanks!!!

@Balthazar007
I think I went a little hard on her...

Meh, maybe. But it had to be done.

I do have one critique though, from a writing standpoint: You switched between present tense and past tense very frequently. It made it a little hard to read.
I'm not asking you to edit anything. Just be aware of that in future posts please.

Alright everyone! Check the 0th OOC post for the updated character roster.
(Moved from Characters tab. I made a boo boo.)

@CHammer's character Aquilina has not been active since her initial posting IC, and @CHammer has not been online at all in 13 days. This is the first user/character to meet the requirement of 'INACTIVE'

Seeing as my character was the last character to act, I cannot take advantage of this right away. However, @BespeckledCeph, your character was already headed in that direction. Please get a post up as soon as possible. In that post, you have rare permission to god mod Aquilina. According to the rules, she must now be defeated by a demon and her allegiance will switch. Since it will be your character that defeats her, she will become your pawn.

If @CHammer were to post in this RP before @BespeckledCeph gets his IC post written, then Aquilina will be saved. So come on @BespeckledCeph, the demons are counting on you. Swoop in and smite her quickly.

If this goes our way (i.e. @CHammer doesn't post and @BespeckledCeph does take over that character), then the entire tide of war will shift in favor of the demons. This means that everyone else will have to post as if the demons have made a hard push. You will want to fall back or risk loosing a lot of angel and human foot soldiers in order to stand your ground.

Nicholas (Nick) Dalton

Mission: Lost Necklace
Central City& Clearbrook Town

Nick's Pokemon were stuffed to the brim, but while they were eating, he noticed some hungry eyes watching through the window.

Before heading outside, he put all of his Pokemon away in their Pokeballs. As he walked out, the wild Liteo hopped behind a mail box. It's tail still stuck out in plain view though. Nick smiled to himself before yelling out, "Hey there, you behind the mailbox. I know you're there. Are you hungry?" He then pulled out a bit of Pokemon food that he managed to hide away from Little Guy's (Munchlax) bottomless stomach.

The food still had a fresh baked smell to it. This smell caused Liteo to stick his nose out from behind the mailbox, but it came out no further.

Nick sensed the Liteo's hesitation and didn't want to press the issue. "It's okay Liteo, I understand. You're scared." Nick then leaned over to a nearby bench and set the food down on its seat. "There you go Liteo, that's all for you."

Nick smiled to himself and began to walk off. That's when his Pokedex rang with a notification. This was Nick's first notification besides a phone call, 'What could it be?' he wondered. He opened the Pokedex to see a brand new notification from the Helping Hand Guild. It was a new mission! He hadn't been a part of the guild for longer than an hour and it was already paying off! He saw that the mission was ranked 'C'. After a little research, he realized that meant he could accept it! Without a second thought, he claimed the mission.

As he read the description, he began to realize what he'd just signed up for. To complete the mission, he would have to go north, to the Clearbrook mountain ski resort! A part of him wanted to cancel the mission immediately, but the image of a crying girl kept popping into his head. Without thinking about it any further, Nick began running to the train station. Maybe he could catch a late train?

He was lucky to find a train heading north, but it was about to leave the station. He began sprinting through the station, but was stopped by a security guard. "Hey! I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to put that Liteo in his Pokeball before getting on the train. We're at max capacity with late night tourists leaving the city." Nick hadn't even noticed the Liteo. It had continued following him after eating the food.

"Hold on one second." Nick said to the guard. The guard looked annoyed. 'Didn't this kid know that he couldn't stop the train?' Nick crouched down to talk to the Liteo in a hurried voice. "Hey there little dude. I got to go. I'm sorry, but can't follow me." He about stood up to go board the train, but the Liteo roared out his disapproval. "Look I'm sorry but... well... there is one way you can go with me I guess." Nick pulled out his empty Pokeball and held it out to the Liteo. "Is this what you want?" The Liteo roared out in happiness. Nick understood and threw the Pokeball, it immediately stopped shaking.

The security guard was stunned, "Wow, did you just catch that Pokemon, just like that?"

Nick walked over and picked up the Pokeball, a little stunned as well, "Yeah, I guess I did." The train then blew its whistle. It was about to take off! He ran as fast as his legs could go and barely managed to step into the train just before its last door closed. Without another second, it was off. Within an hour, he would be at the Clearbrook train station.

The air was so much colder out here in Clearbrook, and the stars shone bright. But this wasn't time for sight seeing. He had to get to the ski resort. There was only one problem. He'd never been here before. He didn't know where it was. His instincts told him to go to the one place he might find people still awake, the Poke Center.

It wasn't nearly as busy as the Central City Poke Center, but there was still staff members and one other trainer. The trainer was a young girl who was talking to an Pokemon that was presumably hers. The Pokemon looked like a Vulpix, a Pokemon he'd heard about back in Central City. 'But weren't they supposed to be a red furred fire-type Pokemon?'

"Hi!" Nick said as he walked up quickly, careful not to run up and scare her away. "Um, my name is Nick, and I'm looking for the ski resort around here. I'm on a mission to find something up there. Do you know where it is?" The mission would have to come first, but maybe if he played his cards right, he could ask about the strange looking Vulpix soon enough.

I just posted a (very) rough prototype map of the world we've built thus far. I'll make it look better soon.

You can find it at the top of the 0th IC post.

It's ugly right now, but does show where places are in relation to one another.
@Balthazar007
Anything in Central that would peak my oc's interest?

Yes. I could picture your character adventuring northward to get to the Atana Mountain Range. The deep caves in Atana have both Dragon & Fairy type Pokemon. You Central City and Clearbrook are both on the way there. So you can either bump into me in Central before I get to Clearbrook. OR you can bump into @Artymis's character and my own when we meet in Clearbrook.

So, what do you say? Are you on board? Should I count on you being my third party member for this mission?

I'll have the mission posted in a moment.

And I'll be posting a "map" of our region so far as well. I've drawn it up already but still need to add some color. It's a prototype map, so don't be surprised when it looks rough in places. Lol
Are we going to do it in a collab variety or through normal posts?

I'll make the Mission tomorrow morning. Nick will accept it and then head up north to the Clearbrook area. Everything will take place through regular IC posting. We'll just need to be sure to add the same title on our posts to show that we're working together. Any OOC collaboration can be handled here in the OOC section. You can get your individual post up before I start on the mission. Did that answer your question? I wasn't quite sure what you were asking.

Sorry, been busy moving things into a new house.

It's okay. I hope you are liking the new place.

In other news:

I've been working on the map of our region. I'll post that tomorrow as well.
<Snipped quote by Balthazar007>

Makes sense. Regardless, I'll head to Atana. Not that I wouldn't normally take the interaction, but Tommy needs some "alone" time right now.

Hey, it makes sense. I can only have two other people join me in a D-Rank Mission. @Artymis seems on board, and I still got two other possibilities in @Zanavy, and @Darkmoon Angel. Even just a two person mission is fine by me, so we're all set.
