It doesn't alter physical defense, the fire 'armor' is more of just adding fire damage to his physical blows or to people hitting him/near him, in addition to obscuring his figure a bit. In certain situations it might help resistant certain damages like a small spray of water but otherwise it isn't exactly used for pure defensive purposes.
Already have a swordsman? Damn...I may have to construct a different role then.
Personality: Gawain is on the surface, a quiet yet polite guy. He holds the door open for strangers, asks how someone's day has been, and avoids causing problems with most people. However, the scars left from his past makes him seldom to get too attached to others. His chivalrous nature is a mere shallow persona of a cold and lonely soul carrying with him the weight of a dream that was not his. Afraid of loss or betrayal, Gawain's loyalty is formed for the sake of honor and service, not by friendship or bonds.
The Sigurd family was one of pride and honor. Since the formation of the world government, the Sigurd family was one of many infamous to serve the celestial dragons as knights. The service of Sigurd family was simple, and had its perks despite its bound subservience to the royal families. Loyalty was rewarded with less cruelty then mere commoners, after all. Sigurd was the only male-born of his parents. Destined to carry the family torch, his father trained him in every shape he could to be a Sigurd Knight. Ideals of Chivalry and honor, how to sport proper armor, and passing down the family's weapon of choice; how to fight with a lance without a horse. The Sigurd family was nothing special to the Celestial Dragons, after all they were just one of many families that served them, however the family did have a secret that they hid in the comfort of their home's basement. At some point, one of the Sigurd ancestors had possessed a devil fruit. Due to a taboo of the fruit being some sort of curse, it is regarded as a strange and secretive treasure. It was feared by his family that the terrible powers within the fruit could drive one mad, and if it were to be discarded, a similar fate would be cast anyway. The fruit was locked in a chest, surveyed by the generations as traditioned.
At the age of 12, nearing his 13th birthday, Gawain was being prepared to take the role of a knight. With an ideology drilled in his head, the pride was overwhelming. At that time however, it was discovered of the family's secret fruit. Punishing the family for safeguarding the powerful devil fruit, they were sentenced to execution. Discovering this, his father in desperation, made the once soon-to-be knight to eat the devil fruit and escape into the sea. A close family friend had prepared a small boat for Gawain to escape him, carrying with him his father's armor and lance.
They didn't get far.
With boat totaled by marine weaponry, it was presumed that the crew had died, either by injury or drowning. This was mostly true, except for Gawain. Miraculously staying afloat on a piece of driftwood, Gawain remained lost at sea for three days. The sea water made him ill and almost immobile due to eating the devil fruit, and death grew closer from hunger at very second. On the third day the conscienceless knight, still clad in armor, was brought to shore by a small town island. There he was recovered, and was raised by a single man named Jack.
Jack was a carefree kind-of guy. He wanted to be a pirate, but he was already middle-age and weak with little experience on the sea. He had no combat training, few money to spare for food let alone any weapon or boat, and most other folk there had no similar dream. However that Didn't stop Jack from dreaming. Every day, after fishing and farming on small plots for spare change, Jack would tell Gawain all the fantastic stories he heard out in the oceans beyond. All the wonders and perils of adventure that awaits, how much he wanted to see them.
That dream however, was never reached. 8 years after becoming a father figure to Gawain, Jack suffered a terrible illness. There was no good doctor on the island to treat him, nor was there any time to go to any island that had a doctor. For the next few weeks, Gawain sat by Jack in his death bed. Jack would continue to tell stories to Gawain, some fabricated, others legends and rumors. But all of those stories pointed to the sea, the life of a pirate. Gawain promised Jack he'd carry out that dream for him. Those were the last words they would ever share.
Gawain left the island on a small boat, with the inheritance from Jack and the saved up money from his various works of labor. Bidding the town farewell, Gawain was ready to forgo his families disgraced honor to become a pirate, in the newfound addition to Carry out Jack's dream.
Draco-Draco Fruit: A Mythical Zoan fruit of powerful potential, Gawain passively has a tough hide and a seemingly undefined resistance to intense heat and fire. He has a good sense of smell with his tongue as another side bonus to his ability, as well as a pair glowing crimson eyes that can pierce the night's darkness.
Gawain's Draco Draco Fruit allows him to transform into a dragon, however he seems only to be able to go into human-beast form, as his previous attempts to go full beast had simply lead him to fail and pass out. The half-form stands at 15 feet in height, muscular, and keeled with blue scales. The reptilian form has iron-like skin, great brute strength, and an impervious hide to flame and heat. However while in his half-beast state he has access to some minor fire-affiliated abilities as well. The form however, has vulnerable scales under the chest, and is susceptible to ice and cold conditions.
Fire abilities: Flame-Breathe (Self explanatory, he breathes fire.) Fire skin (His scales can become coated brilliant flames, shrouding his figure in intense fire.)
This large lance is an unusual weapon. Unlike typical sword fighters Gawain fights with his lance in a more brutish fashion, varying between thrusts and blunt swings.
Kilgarrah, once a monster, is reborn as a prideful 'savior' of humanity. He sees himself as an ancient and powerful relic of earth's past, his race all but forgotten to time. His drive now is to show the modern era the primordial powers of ancient history, especially what he sees as 'filthy' creatures that invade earth from other realms. He can relate to mutants, as he himself could be considered one long ago, but aliens he sees as truly disgusting creatures. Despite his current alignment with humans, his pride makes him reluctant to ally with other GDF Kaiju, except those who are human and fight in machines.
History
Kilgarrah was one of many dragons that roamed in times before humans had evolved from primates. These ancient beasts were the embodiment of magic and fire, but despite their infamous power few ever grew to be considered Kaiju's. Kilgarrah himself wasn't always as large as he is today, it wasn't until that a thirst for power did Kilgarrah's size began to exceed most of his peers. Around the same time Civilization was on the rise with castles and villages, did Kilgarrah roam the earth in search of power. Obtaining the knowledge of arcane discovered by mortals, slaying other dragons to absorb his kin's power, and other monstrous methods were his actions to thirst the thrill for dominance. This path to destruction had awakened his monstrous behavior, as did many others of his kin. Dragons had became a scourge to humanity far more then the occasional predator. Villages and kingdoms were burned to the ground, women and children devoured, and knights and kings crushed by these monsters. Though dragon slayers became more common, Kilgarrah had obtained a great deal of power in magic, having mastered four elements; Earth, Fire, Water, and Dark. The dragon still sought more by trying to discover the power of light itself. Futile due to his inability to conquer his sins, his wrath eventually lead him to be sealed by a wizard who'd name he never learned. Imprisoned in earth and stone, the dragon slumbered beneath the earth's crust with damaged pride and a crushed dream. As ages past, the dragon's prison taught him patience, quelled his rage. He had all but forgotten his thirst for power and dominion.
While underground however, Kilgarrah grew and grew, both in mind and body. He wasn't unaware of his newfound size until he finally awoken. The rise of Kaiju and their destructive power, in addition to the weariness of time, had weakened his seal. So broken was his seal Kilgarrah was able to awaken and ascend from the earth. When he rose to the ground, with most of his wicked nature now absolved, he rose in a new form, a master of the light.
Though he still retains shadows of his sins in his personality, Kilgarrah is no longer bent on destruction and mayhem. Time had warped his once thought of revenge for being sealed into respect for humanity for being able to bring down such a beast as himself. If humans were able to stop him, why do they deserve to be slaughtered by new monsters that walked the worth?
Kilgarrah is a dragon who has fire and magic flowing through his veins. Through his sorcery, in addition to casting powerful spells, he can transform himself into an alternate state of being, taking one of five elements and mastering it. Kilgarrah's most unique ability is the ability to shape shift into several different dragon forms. Though there is no limit to how often he can transform, the period it takes to switch between forms or to revert to his base form is 2 minutes, leaving him vulnerable at that time.
All forms have an indefinite heat resistance and cannot be burned (This immunity only applies to fire and heat alone, other damages that come from attacks like explosive, physical, and other forces are still able to damage him in any form.), as well as being vulnerable to cold temperatures (Cryogenic weaponry, ice magic, cold temperatures. Such factors can lower Kilgarrah's stamina (Being cold-blooded), counter attack certain abilities (I.E. Fire), and risk of hypothermia or freezing solid. Frozen scales are also brittle and easier to break.) Kilgarrah can regenerate overtime, but the regeneration factor is a month-process making it ineffective in combat scenarios.

@Lmpkio I thought about that and I thought it would be easier to scale it with the letter grade ranking, but yeah an approximate size would work better.
@Lmpkio Well here's my character concept. If there is any balancing issues let me know as I'm willing to fix any problems.

@Lmpkio So I've been pondering this over for a while on a dragon kaiju. My current idea that I'm brewing up now is of a dragon that can shapeshift into several different forms, each with its own abilities and weaknesses. Aside from this oddity, I've inevitable made most of its abilities magic-centric, a theme that is seldom used in the godzilla franchise. I'm already a bit deep in writing the character (As I've been detailing much of the pros and cons of the abilities already), so before I go any further I'd like to get your approval/thoughts on the matter, both in if the multiple form stance is acceptable and the magic factor. (Specifically the magic is more originated in ancient times to avoid magic being frequent in modern era.)
Edit: Or alternatively, a human that can summon kaiju-level dragons (one at a time, obviously, that would be insane otherwise.) In a similar magic oriented idea.
Kilgarrah is a mostly-dragon descendant with regal white, plated scales and soft amber under scales. He has an overall holy appearance due to the Seraphim hybridization. His eyes beam a sharp yellow holy light, he also has illuminated scales that produce a white light, but they are not as bright as his eyes and as thus, can only be noticed in the dark. His front horn resembles a large axe-like blade, while he has a half-dozen horns on the back of his skull. He has four wings which have a sort of blend between draconic and angelic design. Rows of spines run down from the back of his head, beneath the back-facing horns, and down to the tip of his long tail, which is sharpened like a blade in a triangle-shape.
Kilgarrah is a descendant who thinks of himself as a warrior of light and justice. He loves the thrill of danger and fighting monsters, making allies, and the sort. Though just and kind to who he can respect, he has a short fuse, especially to those that dishonor him, and it isn't uncommon for him to go into a fit of rage. There are moments where he may loose his grace in a berserk beastial frenzy. He is also very prideful both of his power and of his blood. His ego causes him to underestimate situations as does he overestimate his abilities. With his sense of pride and honor, though he likes the idea of traveling groups, when it comes to fights he prefers to stick to a one on one or otherwise equal fighting scenario to his already poor judgement. If an ally fights a dangerous foe, he lets his ally fight by himself and merely spectates. If an ally aids him in battle even if he needs it, he'll go out of his way to punish that ally even in the middle of combat.
Kilgarrah had spent his younger years in the mountains, testing both his physical strength and manifestation on the surrounding terrain and soon-to-be prey. His methods mostly involved more specific use of spells after briefly studying magic, which in turn while giving him little variety or overall knowledge of magic, for what few spells he had used to train with he now uses to great effect. His other method was an attempt of sword play, after being inspired from watching more human-like descendants clash blades. Unfortunately his form cannot wield weapons with such finesse, but he has learned to (albeit clumsily) wield his make-shift sword in either a claw or his mouth.
Kilgarrah buffs his fire-breath with divine energy, shooting a ray of burning white light in a straight line that is both a longer ranged and overall hotter variation of his standard breath weapon.
Smiting Axe:
Kilgarrah buffs his horn with white energy, extending its range by 10 meters and adding the already metal-sharp horn with extreme heat. The buff can also be alternatively used on his sword. The spell lasts until Kilgarrah uses it for a single attack.
He carries with him a makeshift sword he handcrafted with the aid of his fire breath. The sword is made of iron, with a 2 meter long handle and a 9 meter long blade. The massive weapon's hilt has engravings to help grip with his claws and/or teeth.
Kilgarrah was born to two unknown parents of a Seraphim and a Dragon. At birth, the descendant crawled around and at first survived by consuming trash and leftovers in the town of Pearl, avoiding detection while he was still small from the residence as to avoid giving off the impression of a stray feral dragon. In his lonesome childhood, it was there Kilgarrah watched the citizens below, learning the language overtime and watching people come and go. What inspired him however, was when a local town hero saved the village from a feral dragon that had attempted to attack the town's border. So impressed with the swordsmanship and honor the man received, the descendant now found a purpose in life. To be a hero, to pick up a sword and slay the demons that plague his fellow descendants. Once he decided he was grown enough, he set off to the wilderness and began to practice his talents. For 60 years he traveled the world avoiding civilization as best he could. He didn't want to interact with anyone until he knew he was ready to face the world with strength and pride. He was a dragon, and a Seraphim, the bloods of gods after all.
Kilgarrah is derived from Arthorian mythos of a legendary (and supposedly the greatest of all) dragon.
