What Are You Listening To?

For those of you having a bad night.

Do you listen to music while writing?

Depends on what I'm writing. If I'm writing a very specific scene with a very specific atmosphere, I may settle on certain songs to help my brain lock into that. But most of the time when I'm listening to music and writing, I'm actually trying to calm and relax myself down so I let out a solid stream.

Most music I listen to for inspiration or just help my mood settle in tends to be before I start writing so I can start shifting through ides and concepts I like in a more casual manner.

I'm back from a thousand years of being frozen in ice and looking to just hang out with folks. Make a few casual RP's, maybe even see if we can decide if we're good online chill pit partner potential.

AKA friends.

Because I haven't role played in so long, I might have to ask folks who are more geared up and ready to mobilize to tolerate me trying to get back into the flow and style of writing again. I prefer casual RP's but I can make longer posts. I actually used to make 4 to 6 paragraphs posts as a rule but I find that, after I reached that point, the pressure and obligation of having to perform to a certain level just started strangling the fun and relaxing nature of role playing for me. It's one of the reasons I stopped.

I'm in my 30's.

I have a long history of RP. In warcraft 3, WOW, Space Station 13, multiple forums and probably some other shit I can't remember. I'm down to experiment with different ideas.

In terms of adult content. That is to say, I mean, come on, we both know what I mean by adult content.I ain't talking about saying fuck and shooting people brains out. I tend to veer away from it. It's not an deal breaker, but I find that I need to really sort of get a relationship of some sort - dosen't mean romantic - before I am comfortable even thinking about doing that with someone. So, if you're searching for a casual thing like that. Sorry, but I may not move fast enough for your liking.

I prefer to play as one character. Although I'm ok with DM'ing NPC's,events or other characters about. I also regularly prefer playing as Males or weird things, or things that gender can't really fit a slot. I'm not against playing women either, but I got to really vibe with it at my own pace for me to make that choice.

I'm fine with killing, racism, bullying, abuse, intrigue, noble bright, characters getting killed off and most likely anything else you can cook up. I don't hold nor expect people to show me topics in a "Respectful" light. Life and events are rarely respectful and points exists within a story whims, not above it. If you want to play as a mentally ill character who, has that idea translate to them being axe happy even though most mentally ill people are not prone to going on rampages. That's ok with me. You decide how your character story goes with such topics. Just don't force sexual pairing up on me or take control of my guy.

Never show me AI. I don't like it. I understand some people are into it. I ain't. I'm not interested in fighting anyone about it. Just please respect my boundaries and keep it away from me, both in written and art forms.

In terms of post length. You do you. But I vibe if you can spit out a paragraph or more and keep it it under 5 paragraphs on average. Average is the key word. No hard rules.

My likes

Look Outside is a fucking great game and I Love it almost as much as I love Silent Hill 2. I loved homestuck back in the day and while I haven't paid attention to the new or offshoots lore after the main comic ended, you can be sure I'm down to nerd out about things like classpects and character hero quests side of things. I'm also a fan of anything lovectaftian.

I like movies, namely, I'm getting into Straight to Video or forgotten and older horror movies. I like horror as a rule and I have read a little bit of Junji Ito's work. I'm not super into manga and anime but trying to get back into it and got a whole list of manga I've been meaning to read that I haven't gotten around to yet. I enjoy card tricks - although I'm a bit clumsy at them - and, guess what, I like clowns and jesters too. I also enjoy the paranormal and while not highly educated, know tid bits and hearsay and own Multiple Tarot decks.

Now My RP vibes

These are just some of my ideas and not a wall to block you off. If you want to propose something, feel free to do so. I'm open to most of ANYTHING. My one pet peeve is true, realistic slice of life. Although I can tolerate - and enjoy - slice of life in doses or with interesting mix ups to its function or nature.

All of these RP's are meant to be relatively short. In that, there is a set end. I like my RP's have endings rather than be indefinite, but tht dosen't mean we can't sequel them. These are just ideas to test the water and see if we vibe writing wise as test run.

Jungle Chaos: Action and Dark. 80's power fantasy.

The year is 1975 and the UFC and Renewed Regime of Ruckza has been at war for the last 7 years. The reason for the war is so confused and misguided that everyone has a different telling for why it all started. Hate and fear has kept the war going, and it seems that at some point the UFC has come to the decision that hate and fear aren't enough anymore. Thanks to a growing political pressure, the new chairmen of the UFC has hastily come to a peace contract that demands the immediate evacuation and retreat of all prime military bases and assets in the country.

Thanks to a storm complicating our way back, we have been left in the jungle after a rapid retreat. Leaving us alone in foreign lands. Was this done out of incompetency? Have we been sacrificed? And most importantly, have OUR reasons to fight ended now that we remain here. Only one thing we know for sure, the forces of RR are still very much armed and bitter about the lives the remaining UFC soldiers left behind took.

(( SO. In essence. This is a classic muscular soldiers in enemy jungle having to make it on their own and shoot copious amounts of ammo. But I wrote it in a way in that it can go full action, political intrigue down the line, or a more dark thriller sort of mood. I'm fine us being either gender for this ))

Wizard and the Warrior: Classic set up. Just a good adventure fantasy.

The lands of sep is a barren waste that stretches on maddeningly. Once upon a time, myths say, this was a bountiful and enchanted place but a dark spell fell upon it. One that wiped all life from its back and twisted it with thousands of intruding and strange creatures. Riddle giving bridges, murmuring and spiteful lakes, invisible monsters that stalk the land. Sep is the land of magic, but it's not friendly. My Wizard lives in a tower in the grounds of Sep and your character, be it warrior,rogue, bard or whatever else seeks his aid and employ to travel its roads.

((THis is a bit of a short, episodic RP where our characters are traveling together and just seeing whacky things and trying to survive, and hopefully get rich or powerful as a byproduct. I'd prefer it if I'm the only pure magic character for the dynamic but I'm willing to hear out character ideas if you think they'll make a fun duo arrangement ))

Monsters: Fantasy.

We are monsters living within the darkest, deepest depths of a grand and unknowable dungeon. The nature of our monsterhood is not limited and can be very powerful or very low level, with any means of absurd powers and logic to our nature. We only have the singular goal of wanting to escape the dungeon, but the strict rules and hierarchy stop us ascending to the surface levels without being sent back, by others of our kind, magic and strange traps. We have to overcome a series of challenges that keep us contained before we can run amok on the surface world.

((This one is a bit of a buddy villain story. Like the wizard and the warrior, it's a series of events with a set end idea of view and meant to be a relatively short RP that we could probably complete in 5 to 6 challenges or events. But if we vibe and decide we're really having fun, we can work out if we want to go further plot))

If you want to broach a fandom with me, I'll hear it out. But a lot of big anime fandoms or vampire live shows I'm not super into.

I didn't even know. I gotta keep my eye on that. Byond limited server power limits SS13 a real lot. Could make finding good servers a lot easier if that goes well and they don't cock it up somehow.

Ooh I've always wanted to try Space Station 13 RP. Welcome to RPG!

It's totally easy to get into tech wise, you just got to install the BYOND server software.

In my experience though. If you want a good RP time, try to hone into a RP server of some type that got more than 8 and less than 25. That tends to be the sweet spot. Less than that and it seems to drill into a small group that rarely see each other OR more than that, and it quickly descend into chaos where you can't find a way to stand out and really, make your character matter.

Possible though for both cases. Not a solid rule. Just unironically beware the clown. Not because the clown is a japer, but because the dude in control of a clown is eight times out of ten a dick head, not RP'ing and meta-ing and being smug about it. There's a reason most sec just home in and normally beat him to death as soon as.
