@Dynamo Frokane What are animes to begin with? They tell fantastical tales which captivate us, the audience, into sitting through them and watching with anticipation. Now what is good in a story to captivate us? Well that differs from person to person but for me, I find some of those key factors in SAO.

1. Death or Life - By adding this, suddenly everything becomes more intense. And this fact is used multiple times through the anime, shown by gruesome and tragical events. By far, these events leave the most heavy emotional impact on the viewer. Especially when it combines with a plot twist. One minute ago they are enjoying happy friendship and throwing jokes, the next they are ambushed and slaughtered. And the emotional impact this leaves is also shown by the characters themselves.

2. Love - I don't like this a lot but it is a strong theme in the anime. The things they do and limits they cross to save each other (Asuna - Kirito) trespasses even the fabric of reality(or virtual reality to be exact).

7. I literally remember nothing from the second part, with the elves and tree hugging weed lovers and shit, expect the Asuna x tentacle part. Literally the only thing I rememeber.

8. Don't watch this kid anime crap. Watch Hai to Gensou no Grimgar a.k.a Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better in every aspect while the main themes are the same but everything is conveyed waaaaaaaaaaaay more realistically.

One major thing which people write in their personality section pertaining to their character is... let me give an example:
"If you approach him she will give you a death glare" or "If you try to help him, his pride won't let him and he will refuse you harshly"
I mean, bhich pls, why type that? Let us experience IC. By showing us this, it's like allowing us to meta game to your character's good side.

I did that in one RP, once I separated it, it turned out to be 7 short paragraphs. Everything changes with perspective.

@DragonKingUk I find it very hard to imagine adding another sibling to the church secrecy history part. First of all it has to be a twin if it came from the same mother. But sure you can play one, although tell me what you have in mind first, about his/her bio.

Maybe they could have a telepathic link so she knows what he is thinking and vice versa.

@The One He will be using signs but the basic ones that even a doofus could understand. Maybe I could add minor telepathic powers to his ability list which convey a hint to his intentions.
Well he won't be one for conversations LOL, he will mostly listen.

@Inkarnate Writing ability and player competence can be equally measured by reading the bio. A good roleplayer also includes some personality traits in the bio. And one short paragraph, according to me, should be MORE than enough to measure someone's characterization ability. I mean, better 1 sentence with the key aspects of the character than 3 paragraphs being only fluff while less than a sentence actually adds something essential to the character.

@ScreenAcne Are there slaves in the kingdom? If so, using slaves for pleasure is like using objects so it shouldn't be considered a violation of oaths. And what if the oath doesn't include the "having an affair" part when the husband says it but it includes it when the bride says it? Can the groom bang his house servants or have affairs freely?

And what is a Gariang?

On another note, I just utterly DESPISE the GM/Co-Gms who require at least* 2 paragraphs of personality. I mean what the fck man? You want us to write real life event simulations and describe how we handle them? If we wanna show the personality of our characters we do it IC.
And the best part is, these types of people are the ones who say nothing, probably forgot, when the role-player gets out of their character's personality depiction as written in their CS.

Male / 13 / Harpocrates- God of silence, secrets and confidentiality

Personality:
Engel is silent, silent to the point of being mute. He was born this way and while many may consider it a curse, it is actually a blessing. Maybe not for the person itself but it makes others around him open to him while Engel listens. Isn't that what people need most of the time? Someone to listen to them with no judgment? Someone to soak all their sorrows, frustrations, doubts, secrets, and in the end, to reply with a silent smile.

Bio:
Engel was born to a mute nun in Germany. When she was sleeping a huge light resonated from her belly which seemed to grow at exponential rates during the next couple of months. The nun was only 19 at the time and lived a secluded life within the confines of the church environment. That and that multiple other nuns saw the brightness emerging from the chambers, accompanied by her sudden pregnancy led them to believe that it could only be a miracle. A couple of months later she would give birth to what would be described by the people present as the most beautiful baby they had ever laid eyes upon. And for the first time Agneta, as was the nun's name, felt blessed. See, her condition didn't come from some birth defect or mutation, it came from a traumatic and scarring event that transpired in her past. And for this miracle to be happening to her, no mortal on earth could describe her feelings. The child was raised in secrecy within the confines of the church. Everyone grew to love him and feel calm beside him. When he turned 10 and until his departure at the age of 13, nuns, priests and even the head priest started coming to him to confess. Some wanted guidance, others wanted forgiveness and his response was the same, with a smile he approached them, took their hands in his and leaned in for a hug. In that moment he absorbed all their self judgment, self doubt, released their sorrows and discarded their anger leaving them to be clear minded and put their spirit at ease.

One night, when he had turned 13 a power approached him and gave him a purpose, a purpose for the power that he has and for the existence that he is. "Saying" his goodbyes only to his mother, who although understanding that her child had to go, was reluctant and despaired none the less. With trembling fingers and tears streaming down her eyes she took the silver necklace around her neck, opened it once more to see her picture on one side and her baby boy's on the other and gave it to Engel. With a final hug, which seemed and felt like ages for both of them, he turned to leave. Upon setting foot outside a white peregrine falcon emerged from the clouds above. With the silver lighting of the moon being reflected on it's back, it really looked like a second miracle. Circling the boy in a spiral while diving for him, it made contact with his back where it merged with him, giving birth to a beautiful pure white pair of wings. The transition was painful but no sound emerged from him. At last fused together, the boy took flight into the night sky, his angelic wings making no noise as they soared through the sky. For anyone who was looking at him at the time, it could as well have been a dream.

He stopped aging when he was 9. It could be a blessing, it could be a curse. But everything that has happened to him, Engel knows it has a purpose.

Power and Abilities:
People instinctively feel calm when near him. They feel that they can trust this child with anything that troubles their mind. They can trust him that he won't judge, they can trust him that he won't tell.

Silence of the Body - The boy has the power to render a target completely soundless. Nothing they do, nothing that touches them produces a sound. This can be cast over a large area so that no sound is heard emanating from that place.

Silence of the Spirit - The boy can silence the spirit. By doing so he can effectively separate the connection that something/someone has with the Deities. Be it an item or summoned creature he can nullify the item's properties or expel the summoned creatures who depend on their patron God to roam the Earth. If the creature has the power to sustain itself for the duration of the time that Engel channels his power then
the power has no effect besides weakening the creature. It can also be used on demi-gods/titans/primordial gods to severs their link with their patron God. Nullifying any ability or excess strength that they have. But doing this is very taxing for the boy who is also vulnerable during the channeling.

Pet Personality:
She has become a part of Engel now, even when they are in separate forms. She is silent and only Engel can hear her but besides that he can also understand and communicate with her. When they are separate she will do everything to protect the child, his guardian.

'Misthophoroi' - A Sci-Fi Mercenary RP

When I started creating the character, I had these concepts in mind dragon/fire breathing/sentient
Dragon - hence the appearance you see and I added metal to look cool... also to enhance their weakness to heat, being a superconductor.
Fire breathing - I started reading about stars a lot so I went with the power coming from the process of fusion which also serves as his weakness
Sentient - the most interesting story that came to mind was a kingdom of dragons, not boring democracy. A kingdom with unhappy citizens which led to a rebellion. The rebels were a group of terrorists, as seen by all, but most members believed in the cause. The leaders though were real terrorists, unhappy with the governing body and instead of wanting change they just wanted the ones on charge to suffer. The planet was already in danger of being destroyed and on the day where everyone was supposed to evacuate it, they sabotaged all the ships, trapping everyone on the planet. A war commenced lasting for weeks, the time still to little to repair the damage so everyone ended up dying. Everyone expect the ones I mentioned that did so by other means. I found this story very interesting so I incorporated it.

Yes, so I built this character on the assumption that I would take the role of a leader. So my character will not be working with you but your characters will be working for him. While travelling as a claw for hire he was paying and hiring crew people himself. They were given missions, missions of searching for the individuals he mentioned, to search for people who know the individuals he wants and so on. Fits the whole why be a mercenary thing. He is still in the lead unless someone has already taken the role.

And why come there? Maybe he heard of someone who knows someone who knows about the dragon princess. He has been following ghost trails ever since he left his planet. Better than nothing. And this searching for someone excuse fits with ANY story.

Secondly, he was part of a force who dealt with these dangerous don't-wanna-die dragons and by "dealt" I mean face head first. Even in battle he was in the front line so I don't know where you got the ninja vibe. He is too big to be one, too heavy and his metal armor would suggest some affinity to combat on the battlefield like any armored warrior.

While true that the metal armor seems like over kill, but let me ask you this, does everyone fight with swords? I believe that at least a few people use energy weapons and the sort. Energy=heat. So even if the hit doesn't physically harm him, it raises his temperature, causes him to inject more cooler substance on his organism. And that's another thing, the cooling system on his body. Even if his body is made of strong metal, place a few well aimed shots at the system, damage it so it can't be used, a few more shots on his body and see him overheat. Maybe I should've written this somewhere, thought I did, but the reason the ones who refused to die were hunted down was because at the end of their life cycle, once there was nothing more inside of them to power the fusion, they would violently explode, damaging all near them. Staying in hot places for too long sped up the process, in other terms sped the aging. The cooling system is all that freezes his "aging". So take out the cooling system, put a some well placed shots with a powerful energy/laser blaster and see him explode.

And the tail being a blowtorch...
I ask you, which is more effective, a strong deep quick knife stab, or standing close to the enemy with a blowtorch in hand keeping it in their skin and wait until it has lethal effect. It is mostly used to cut metal structures/doors. And as I said, it uses the power of his inner fusion. Overheating= stronger power, not overheating weak power. Also Overheating= close to kaboom.

Is that everything?
