@Haru Nyan Oh... were you gonna join this one or another one? XD Getting mixed messages here lol
Also @Morose@Din@Pundii@FantasyChic and other alumni, you guys are free to come check this out and return. I'm starting this for realzies once I get a good playerbase going :)
@Archmage MC*Has flashbacks of the conflict it created in the old RP* Yeah I'm pretty familiar with her. lol
I had an idea, a compromise, so to say. How about we make her look real and give her toon powers, such as that of characters in Seltzer and Friedberg movies (I was on a marathon of some of their movies just now, had to take a few showers afterwards). That way she would be properly 'metahuman' as well as a 'cartoon' without having the weird jarring effect of having a freaking cartoon character walk amongst lots of relatively realistic characters in a semi-serious RP. lol Does that sound cool?
And even after like... 5 months she still hasn't gotten any play? Jesus that must suck!
For the past who knows how many months I've been working on improving my brainchild known only as the Powerbound Universe, which has spawned from the creation and death of this RP. Here, I plan on reviving it with vast amounts of improvements. Such improvements include a smaller group (5-6 players max), a Discord chat group for improved communication in between me and my players, a stronger opening to keep people interested, and a much more richer universe that allows much more potential. The universe here is a little different and a bit more in-depth than the previous RP lets on, and I'll explain it here.
This takes place in an alternate Earth, sometime in the 2020s. Here, beings known only as 'Metahumans' exist, that consist of superhumans that have received blessings from gods of good, or curses from gods of evil. These men and women exist among us and walk amongst us, either using their powers for good or powers of evil. While many of these beings went into hiding since the 1600s, they resurfaced during and after World War II, whether they be victims/adversaries of or participants in the Nazi Regime. Since then the political climate has changed drastically around the world, and is different to what we are familiar with. Several nations that don't exist in the eyes of the world today are prosperous independent nations in this universe (Scotland, Kurdistan), and several nations often overlooked in the political sphere are under the control of various metahuman tyrants/groups (Colombia, Azerbijan). As a result of the threats such metahumans pose against humanity, there is one group that stands in the way to protect them, and that is the Powerbound Alliance.
The Powerbound Alliance is a large group of metahumans, whether they be blessed or cursed, who are working together to bring good and eliminate evil to wherever it's needed, around the world. The Powerbound Alliance was established at the eve of World War II with the mission to prevent events, like the Nazi Atrocities, from ever happening again. Over time, the group has established several bases of operations all around the world, the two most notable places being that of Costa Rica and Kurdistan, where the Powerbound Alliance has helped both nations in early days and has deep ties with the current governments of said nations. The Powerbound Alliance also has various schools around the world in order to educate, recruit and protect metahumans, and to help guide them along the right path.
The school that this RP takes place in is a large university within the mountains of Oregon, with a small town and abandoned city (caused by the destruction from metahuman battles past) on either sides of the mountain. The university has many areas and rooms to go to, which allows a lot of opportunity for some high-school/college drama, as well as some nice action scenes as well. I will work out the details as I get there, but everything regarding it would be fictional and I'll draw up the maps for such. Also, while this does take place in the US, English-Speaking students from other nations are acceptable as characters as well, and later on in the RP, there will be other settings introduced.
The main plot of the RP is that the Powerbound Alliance is trying to educate and teach various metahuman students onto the right path, and help give them a place within their ranks that would both make the inductees happy, as well as make them productive members of the alliance. The Powerbound's main goals are to remove evil and create good in the world, and they have two subgroups that do those exact things.
The STC (Special Tasks Coalition) is the Powerbound's military arm, and consists of metahumans and normal humans from all around the world, and their primary job is to help goverments of good eliminate people of evil, or to eliminate governments of evil to help the people of good. Essentially, they are the 'remove evil' part, and consist of the more violent heroes and anti-heroes that have no qualms of hurting or killing other evil people.
The HWC (Heroes Without Capes) is the Powerbound's charity arm, and consists of the heroes that want to do good but without harming a soul. They go to disaster areas all around the world, and help people in need, whether it would be constructing homes, feeding the starving or helping with local agriculture/infrastructure. Most of the metahumans with supporting powers often join this branch, and they operate all around the world. They are the 'create good' part, and are often the ones who get some of the press, as no one other than the factions that work with the STC know the STC exists.
While the Powerbound has these two factions acting all around the globe, there seems to be a problem on their hands. A high-ranking member within the STC has gone rogue and disappeared without a trace, and not even the rest of the STC could find her. While the STC is hard at work trying to help the Peshmerga fight local metahuman terrorist groups in Kurdistan, and the HWM having their hands full assisting the people in Costa Rica and the rest of Latin America, the head of the school in Oregon decided to create a task force out of a class of his students to help locate that rogue member.
TL;DR: A bunch of high-school/college aged kids with superpowers go to a School for the Gifted in the US, and while going through various subplots and all kinds of stuff, after a while of training, learning and growing, they are tasked to find a rogue member of the Powerbound's military arm before catastrophe strikes.
Let me know what you think! :D I can change some details of this RP, and I can answer any questions any of you may have! Also, this is a very high-casual RP, and it is ripe with opportunities for character development and character interaction, as well as lore, worldbuilding and so much more! :D Again, I'll set up a discord chat for this so people could exchange ideas.
Also villain characters are allowed but I need clear communication with their players so it won't end up interfering with the main plot or whatnot. lol

| Personality | First and foremost, Gabby has autism, or more specifically, asperger's syndrome. While it isn't something that really defines her, or something she lets define her, it's something that really has shaped her life, choices and lifestyles as well. As a result of constant alienation, ostracision and bullying in her life, she's rejected the idea of being amongst groups, and has become more paranoid regarding other people, and has become far more insecure than she normally has been. However, this doesn't mean that she shuts out people completely, with animals and people that she trusts and holds close to her heart, she is incredibly grateful for and often shows her love, affection and appreciation for. While she does somewhat understand the concept of empathy, she doesn't exactly know when to shut up, and often times she often thinks other people think like her. As a result, whenever she is with someone she likes or trusts, she often lets them into her life and tries to get them into the things she does as well. In regards to Kirk, however, her dog, she has a strong connection to her puppy. She doesn't see Kirk as a pet, but more of family member, or a little brother of some weird sort. She also enjoys the idea that she's in a story or a movie, and often times she might call out things that happen, or might see things that happen in this very RP coming from a mile away. She's also terrible when it comes to sarcasm, and is terrible at reading microexpressions or tone, however, she knows how to make a few jokes here and there.
| Abilities | Gabby is a rather unique case here, in which she possesses two powers, one of them being perfect sound imitation and the other being an "animal whisperer" of sorts. With her ability to replicate sound perfectly, she could replicate just about any sound she would like, including animal calls, as well as the voices of other people she hears. With this, it enhances her ability to bond with other animals, as well as speak to them on some level. One of the secondary powers that come with this is the ability to hear frequencies that human ears can't hear, and make noises that others cannot pick up. With her connection with animals, her ability to use sound beyond the range of human ears, as well as various body languages, she's able to read animals better than most experts can, and it comes natural to her. She also has a strong bond with her little puppy Kirk as well, to the point where she could actually speak perfect English to Kirk and Kirk would understand her (on the level of basic concepts anyway). She also uses this to "tame" animals (essentially render them non-hostile to herself and other animals in her "pack").
| Limitations | Gabby can only make one sound at a time, and she can only make it as loud as any human could with their own voice. She cannot make a combination of sounds, as her brain is incapable of multitasking. Her ears are also more sensitive as a result of her better hearing (not to mention her autism), and thus it could easily be used against her. Her connections with animals doesn't really have much of a limitation, but she cannot summon animals from miles away. She can only summon animals that hear her cries.
| Place Of Origin | Toledo, Ohio
| Family | Johnny Dickerson - Father, master of Mimicry abilities Zula - Mother, animal whisperer
| History | Gabby was born and raised in the "Little Detroit" of Ohio, known only as Toledo, under two South African parents who moved there during the Apartheid era. There, she crew up living a mostly peaceful live with a slow growth and buildup, where she attended special schools where she saw many therapists that helped her develop some of her social skills. She was born a few years after her neurotypical sister, Danielle, was born, and while her mother and father put a lot of attention on developing and helping Gabby's sister to grow up and to become a successful woman, Gabby was left somewhat in the shadow of her sister as she spent most of her time in schools for autistic children. While her parents didn't do much for her and took pride in mainly Danny's accomplishments, Gabby decided to go along her own path and do her own thing as her parents never gave her the attention that she deserved. She grew up with the affinity for music, and on her own time she started to sing along to various different songs she liked. Over time, she developed the talent to replicate voices and sounds at a young age, and her parents marketed that to relatives and friends everywhere. However, Gabby didn't like the idea of being shown off by her parents even though they seemed to favor Danny much more than she, and stopped doing it when her parents would ask her to. This only increased her division with them as they often got angry with her when she disobeyed.
When Gabby turned six years old, her parents got a dog for Danny as a birthday present, but her parents didn't mind Gabby playing with it either. While Danny didn't do much with the puppy, Gabby established a strong connection with it, and discovered that she could make connections with animals. She soon experimented with this ability on squirrels, birds and mice, and it turned out that she could actually command them to do what she liked after establishing an understanding with them for a while. However, she never told her parents, nor Danny, about this, and kept it to herself (but using it to her advantage to play pranks on various bullies and terrible teachers in school). Later on in life, however, when both she and Danny became teenagers, Danny started to spend more time with her sister to get to know her (as they were somewhat distant since birth). Both Danny and Gabby were great academically, and while Gabby struggled to fit into the social scene, Danny did her best to help her sister out. To this day, Gabby continues a strong relationship with her sister, and they visit each other often.
When Gabby turned 18, however, Danny eventually revealed Gabby's powers to her parents, to which they were both surprised. While Danny assumed that her parents would give her more attention and actually get her what she needed, their parents actually wanted to market Gabby and actually try to get her into the singing career. Danny, however, knew that this wasn't what Gabby wanted, and it would make Gabby incredibly miserable. At that point, both Gabby and Danny lost all respect for their parents and moved away together, where Gabby lived with her sister for a while as Danny continued schooling. Since their parents still wanted Danny to succeed, they continued to pay for her schooling and helped her financially. At that point, Danny decided that it wasn't the best idea for Gabby to be sitting around at the house all day, cleaning it up and maintaining it, and decided that Gabby deserved to be just as successful as she was. After lots and lots of searching, Danny found Mayweather school, and sent Gabby there, on the promise that it will actually be good for her and help her out. To this day, Gabby remains in Mayweather, establishing regular contact with Danny, with Danny visiting from time to time (in secret of course). While Gabby has stayed to herself most of the time, she did pretty well academically, and enjoyed her time being alone with the dog that Danny gave her as a parting gift, Kirk. When asked for an Alias, however, she decided to call herself "Shepherd" due to her ability to influence animals, as well as her being a fan of the Mass Effect series, of course.
| Extra | Gabby is in possession of a cute little pupper named Kirk, who's an incredibly smart dog can sense bad situations, bad things and bad people when Gabby can't. Gabby has formed such a bond with Kirk that both of them are nearly inseperable, and Kirk almost acts as Gabby's second pair of eyes, ears and a nose, one often helps her find things she loses, or in some other cases, helps her find hidden treasure. But yeah, Kirk is totes adorbz
This is her older sister, Danielle Dickerson, who is currently studying to be a Green Energy Engineer at the New York University. She maintains regular contact with Gabby and tries to look out after her the best she could. Her FC is Vanessa Lee Chester.
Also, as a sidenote, I based Gabby incredibly off of myself, an Aspie, in a way, as well as friends I had who also had Asperger's syndrome. Not to mention that the nostalgia behind the primary theme, I knew that song for 18 years. 17 years for Ex Factor.
@Buddha Ooohh, she can most definitely pay. A week ago she and her team recently acquired millions of dollars worth of bribe money from a New York Senator that they extorted from. Drained his offshore account dry. They are simply using the money now to pay for resources but they have enough to hire out.
@Buddha@lovely complex Believe it or not I was one of the older original writers that left the RP too but I came back and came back strong! :D Also welcome to the RP, dude! Nice to have you with us. ^_^
Woah, crap! I gotta get on my stuff quick! lol! Nice job for everyone involved... I think DWS got a nice revival <3 So happy to be a part of this thing! :D
Also question, is the Fear Fest mandatory? Gabby might not want to attend. XD Carmen and Liana will try to brave through it, and try their best to not hurt anyone in the process.
@lovely complex You got it, and it's all good. I know the pain. XD Nearly passed out myself lol
But yeah, here's Carmen's summary. If you need anything added, removed, or want me to change the gif, please let me know! I will gladly do so.
Carmen Chavana (22) - Hero - "Phoenix"
Do no harm but take no shit is one of Carmen's main goals when it comes to navigating this clusterfuck known only as Mayweather. She joined Mayweather after the fire as part of a spiritual journey to better herself and her powers before going off to fight in an international force, to help them destroy evil and bring good to a nation torn apart by oppression and war. Carmen's past wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, as Carmen was a convicted murderer, and has committed numerous acts of thievery, robbery, extortion and embezzlement with her crew that now goes by the name of the "Hudson Syndicate". However, her hopes of an easy and smooth transition to the side of good was dashed once she was introduced to the drama of Mayweather vs. Delphina, and to this day, she rejects the idea of camps and labels, and would rather the two groups get over each other and actually do something productive and helpful. After feeling alienated, and having felt no progress in her course of going to Mayweather, she left for a brief amount of time, pulled some heists, and ran into Witching Hour. After the events of Witching Hour, Carmen decided to get her shit together, finish what she started and bring an end to bullshit (the feud, drama, the fire case, the run-in with the Harts, and just about anything else that's incredibly stupid) once and for all. She also brought Liana, a sexy assassin with a fetish for murdering murderers, with her to act as her sidekick/assistant. Together, Carmen hopes to actually get shit done.
