It was the day of Liam's exhibition match with Leon. Liam went down to the Dragon's Den and collected Goodra and Smaug the Charizard before heading to the Pokémon Center where his mother and father were waiting with Sherlock, Liam's shiny Alakazam. He had the two that he was bringing with him healed up real quick before his departure. Liam had a touching good-bye with his parents as well as Florance, the Blissey who was essentially his nanny growing up. His parents wished him luck, which was a sentiment that Florance and Sherlock wished for him as well. While on his mini-vacation, Liam had a couple more battles in the World Coronation, pushing his rank up to 2500.
Liam's mother, the Blackthorn Nurse Joy gave him a kiss on the forehead, his father and Florance each gave Liam a hug good-bye and Sherlock used Teleport to take Liam to the Goldenrod Airport where he would be boarding a flight with Shiranui to go to Wyndon.
"Good Luck," Sherlock said to his trainer telepathically before teleporting away.
Liam checked the Rotomdex and saw that there was still a few hours before the plane left, so he had time to kill. His phone buzzed and mentioned there was a trainer nearby that was participating in the World Coronation. He checked and saw it was Whitney.
"Hello, Champion Coleman," Whitney said with a smile. She readied a Pokéball in her hand.
Liam told her to hold on one moment while he transferred a Pokémon in. with the press of a few buttons on his Rotomdex, a Luxury Ball was transported to him, he then pressed "Accept" on the battle request.
A Rotom-controlled drone flew down and announced that the battle would be an official World Coronation Battle, and each trainer would use a single Pokémon and too send them out immediately.
"Clefablle!" Whitney called sending out the Fairy-Type with a smug look on her face.
"Dragalge! It's time to shine!" Liam called and tossed the ball the same time Whitney called out hers.
"I've never seen that before," Whitney said.
"Draglge, Toxic!" Liam called. the blob on poison launched toward the Fairy, badly poisoning it.
"Metronome!" Whitney called, getting Hone Claws in the process. Clefable's attack and accuracy increased.

The damage from Toxic activated the Clefable's Sitrus Berry.
"Venoshock!" Liam called. The attack landed for increased damage since Clefable was already poisoned.
"Use Psychic!" Whitney ordered. The attack was super effective on Dragalge, but it wasn't enough as the Toxic finished Clefable off.
"Clefable is unable to battle, Draglge wins! This means the victory goes to Liam Coleman of Blackthorn City! the Rotom drone announced. "As of right now, there is a change in the standings!" The Drone flew off as Liam watched his number go from 2500 to 2488. Whitney watched hers go down to 2500 and Liam heard her begin to sniffle.
"Don't start crying Whitney," Liam said. "You did good,"
Whitney got to her feet and sniffled one more time before thanking Liam for the battle and leaving to go back to her gym. She was already on her way back from healing at the Pokémon Center after a challenger had come through.
With that Liam sent a message to Shiranui telling him that he was at the airport waiting for him.

I hadn't. I had been preoccupied with a preorder I had and a communication breakdown there had been between myself and the person I'm buying from. I already have a Sceptile, and I'm already planning on catching a Dreepy, so it does not really matter much to me if it's any of the three options (one, the other, both)
a week from today or a week from when it started (ie tomorrow)?
So, how long does everyone feel I should wait for perspective new people before starting?

B: Even if you had that authority you could not bar me with me being the Johto Champion, C: There's only two of you, and last but not least D: 'City' and 'three' don't rhyme".
Liam folded his arms. "Now, with all of that said, We could hold battles for the World Coronation Battle if you wanted." Liam quickly dispatched one who used a Koffing with Goodra.
