True, but this is a large Empire. You're going to get different religions and the one the King decides on can be very important to how he is going to rule/ How the people will respond to him.

So we have at least four different religions and world views under the same rulership... Actually, that isn't a bad thing. Makes things interesting since people will also be pushing their ideology alongside everything else to gain influence with the new King.

Ninja'ed: Tartarus isn't Atheistic so much as they believe in empowering oneself rather then blindly following another who might not have your best interest in mind.

Considering that Tartarus scholars are raised in an environment where assassination and political backstabbing for personal gain is a normal way of life with a strong history of magic, religion isn't their thing. They are very left hand path in their views; Why worship god when you can become god?

Fixed that a bit. Turns out being at peace for so long results in a lot of the more flashy, combat magic to be lost to time. The magic users of Tartarus are a shadow of what they once were, but its still there.

Known for: Sindri Myr's fast raise to the position of Advisor of the Province of Tartarus is almost unheard of, even with Tartarus's... reputation for political advancement. He also shows a great deal of promise when it comes to the magical arts, through how much of that is just an illusion is hard to say.

Dirty little secret: Both the worst and best kept secret in the kingdom is the fact that Sindri has removed several people from positions of power in order to achieve his current position as Adviser to the eleven year old King Elendin; Be it via political machinations or outright assassination. There is no one alive that can prove that he did it through. Until otherwise any such claims of wrong doing are little more then slander to his character.

Skills: Sindri possess a silver tongue, a keen political mind and a natural talent for magic that has been properly nurtured and trained. He is also rather talented at slight of hand and is surprising gifted with a knife.

Tartarus

Name of the Province: Tartarus

Name of your liege: High Witch Robin

Position: Positioned along the boarder of the Southern Wastes, claiming some of it as well despite the lack of anything of worth to the naked eye.

Specialty: The people of Tartarus are known for two things; Their magical abilities and their scholars. Despite the draconian nature of a Tartarus educational collage, those who earn their education and survive the competition of their peers are highly sort after by other parts of the Empire for their abilities.

History: Tartarus has always been naturally a resource poor area, largely desert with a limited number of areas that provided water and food that were quite often fought over. With mining difficult at best and the limited wood supplies highly important, weapons were rather limited... expect for one. Very early on, the various tribes of the area discovered and made use of magic in lull of more conventional weaponry.

The 'Mage Wars' as they were known to history lasted until the leader of one of the lesser magical tribes discovered a way to magically create water sources, therefore creating more land that could be settled. Using this discovery, this leader managed to unite all the other magical tribes and rose to become the first High Witch of the newly formed kingdom of Tartarus.

When Emperiat was on the march and had successfully conquered a number of different kingdoms, Tartarus was one of the only kingdoms to offer to become a vassal of the raising power without a fight rather then try to hold out against the inevitable, resulting in Tartarus being one of the first former nations of the Empire to have an advisor at the king's ear from the get go.

Time and peace as resulted in many of the combat spells that formed Tartarus to be forgotten, resulting in the magic users of today being a shadow of what they once were.

While other provinces might have adored King Andèris, Tartarus was more neutral to him. He was a good king sure, but far to strong willed for them to have a controlling interest in the affairs of the Empire. His newly raisen son King Elendin however provides a golden opportunity and Tartarus has sent the best man for the job to make sure that it is taken.
