I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.
Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss
Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)
Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.
Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.
RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.
As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.
RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.
And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.
Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.
Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.
Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...
Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.
Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.
@Mahz I would like to be able to set the width of a column of cells. Ideally to a percentage of the available space.
In the past I had a character sheet that featured two twins, and I wanted both twin to take up exactly half of the screen so that you could compare them side by side. It was kind of a nightmare to get working, and I eventually ended up having to use multiple tables and carefully using the column widening method Roach pointed out.
Column width seems to be loosely based on the size of the biggest word (Which is why Roach's stretch method for images works) and number of words in a cell, but it's tricky to figure out how to balance it to get a specific column size.
Edit: If you want to know how I'd like it to work, I think I'd like it so that you determine the size of the top cell to get the column to be the right size. Though it would not be the end of the world if I had to manually tell every cell what size I wanted it to be. something like "Cell=XX%" would be great.
I think the list Roach made pretty well sums up what I could reasonably ask for.
Being able to adjust the Automatic Column Width is probably what I'm most looking folward to, as even on desktop it's kind of a pain to adjust cells so that they show images at max size or dedicate the right amount of space for text. I didn't see that specific feature mentioned in the above list.
Edit: Specifically for text alignment. I did see the ones for images.
While Mac had hoped that they would come face to face with the Mad Hatter himself, it seemed that he was not the next threat. It was as unfortunate as it was expected. She would have thought he’d risk his own life before letting one of the queen’s precious eggs come to harm. Let alone the creature birthing them. But pointing out flaws in the motives of a mad man was how fools wasted their time. He was brainwashed by the queen and likely behaved in a way that she agreed with. It was possible she valued him more than the eggs or creature. If he had made them, then he would indeed be the more valuable asset.
Justine screaming Caroline’s name reminded Mac that there was other shit that needed doing.
It was getting a little tedious. Every step forward was met with some conflict that, while ultimately not that dangerous on its own, wasted precious time. They couldn’t keep playing the Hatter’s game, and it was about time Mac started thinking outside the box. In fact, Mac was so good at this type of thinking that she could think her way to different planes of existence.
Mac ran forward. Ashley activated her tractor beam to slow Caroline’s descent. She looked to the giant chicken’s feet to get a sense for where it was.
”I’ll be back with chicken strips and a friend. You guys beat the eggs into batter!”
And with that, Mac dove into the chicken and wrapped her arms around it. Ashley followed suit. Then they vanished from sight.
…
…
…
To cook a cockatrice right, you really needed to be in the overcity.
Mac didn’t care exactly where she was. She tumbled between the overgrown chicken’s legs and stood up. Ashley vanished. Her invisibility spell deactivated. She brandished her claws. The times she had revealed herself to the outside world were few and far between. It was such a foreign sensation, not being cloaked by magic. Mac was strong enough magically that she could keep up such enchantments, but it always meant that she had to hold back during her fights. Gravity magic was expensive for what it was, and even using it as seldom as she had ate into her reserves. There was no reason to restrain herself out here, especially since she had no backup.
She turned to face the giant chicken, but not before magically affixing a pair of shades to its face. It shouldn’t matter if the bird could see through the shades or not. Ultimately, Mac could not meet its gaze. Though she briefly examined the bird with her third eye to confirm her suspicion before relying on her gimmick.
”Alright feather face. Show me what you’re made of!”
With any luck, the other would be able to carry on without her.
Chloe was prepared to be part of another nothingburger of a post before she stumbled upon the fricking queen of all things.
Oh yea, and everyone else was there too.
"...What?”
Chloe knew more than anyone else about the surge of power one felt holding a life in their hands. Even if it turned to ash in the end, she recalled how good it felt to help Penny when Alicia could only watch dumbfounded. She was kind of a bitch back then, huh? To be fair, it felt empowering to grant Violet her freedom too. Magical Dream Princess probably enjoyed teaching Chloe how to be cute so that she could get a proper girlfriend. As fun as it was to reflect on her past, this really wasn’t the time for it.
Though there was something kind of off about this situation. From what Chloe had been told about the situation, the queen was some sort of powergaming, god modding person that just kind of knew everything. If that was really the case… Was Chloe missing something here? In such a delicate situation, it did not seem wise to try and attack the queen while she was distracted. Such a thing was more or less impossible if the rumors were to be believed. Chloe didn’t believe them, but she also didn’t believe that she needed to attack the queen from behind in order to defeat her.
Chloe galloped from around the queen and her steed stood by Lily’s side. "Hey Lily, I found Alex!” She pointed. "He’s over there.” She smiled and giggled. "I’m pretty sure he’s safe. I mean imagine killing the princess’s gigolo to send a message. Magical boys don’t exactly grow on trees, let alone ones that are fit to breed with royalty. I mean, I wouldn’t pick him myself, but you know. If that’s the kind of thing Alice wants, it would be downright shameful to threaten to kill him.” She shrugged her shoulders. "Anyway, I think the real problem here is that Alice isn’t capable of thinking for herself.” She looked at everyone, intentionally avoiding Connie and Mia’s gaze to preserve any concealment they might be enjoying. She really didn’t believe in the queen’s power. "I mean horrors really, really like their servants. They don’t relinquish them easily. Make one wrong move and you’ll be given a not-so-swift punishment. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you the specifics?” She eyed the queen.
Chloe didn’t just blow her cover to drop “truth bombs” and open herself up as a target. Her troops would be attacking the area any moment now, and the resulting confusion should be, well, entertaining. Falling flaming skeletons were always entertaining.
Just reporting in to say the new forumception is looking pretty good and I have no complaints with it on mobile regardless of phone orientation. Posting again if anyone else wants to look at it.

Hey! HEY! This forum was all my idea! This is a great way to show people outside of CC what we are all about. That, and getting all you cute girls in one place so that I cat with you all day long is good too!

Strawberry and banana flavored ice cream is my favorite!
The only issue I could see for my typical use cases would be if a table contained too many columns. It would absolutely be spilling off the right side of the screen if I had too many. It's unfortunate that there's no way to tell table columns to appear on a new line in the event of limited screen space. I may have to carry out some of my own tests at a later date to see how far I can push tables without using weird code.
EDIT: Though if we're talking about custom code for tables, maybe being able to add "column breaks" or telling column's to take up a certain percentage of the screen would be useful. Like "Cell=20%" would make sure that particular cell would take up 20% of the screen. Maybe have "Cell<20%" and "Cell>20%" to allow the cell to shrink or grow beyond that threshold?
All of the buttons have a little tool tip that shows up on hover, but the color picker does not. It's a small thing, and I thought you'd like to add a tool tip in for consistency. It's certainly not something I'd consider essential to "fix."
The little reply shortcut buttons that add BBC code to highlighted test are pretty nifty, even if I personally do most of my writing in a word processor most of the time. The font color tool is missing its tool tip on hover.
@Mahz It looks like old tables made before the update still have a horizontal scroll. Though it looks like new ones no longer have it. Is that possible?
Also, it looks like the text in @Exit's newest example is flowing off the side of the page with no way to read it. If I turn my phone sideways I can read it all just fine, however. I do not use my phone often for forum viewing, but this feels like a good compromise to me.
I'll have to re-upload some of my older projects to see how they look.
It had been a day or two since Rei decided to show everyone what she was made of. Or had it only been one day? Either way, it seemed like a good time to call a meeting and figure out a way to deal with the Gems. They hadn't done much after the one attack, but who knew when they were going to strike again? Or was this the idea? They had the dark girls wondering where the next attack would come from, and that fear was going to keep them rooted in place for a time. If that was their master plan, than mission successful. Even Rei seemed to be bothered by the Gems. Meanwhile Ashbringer's increasingly large party and growing power might be a larger problem that Rei was underestimating. Then there was Tsubomi, the mysterious robot angel, and whatever else Rei decided to use to flex on everyone with. Oh yes, there were plenty of problems in the future. Then there were all the secrets that were being held from her that she knew existed but couldn't uncover. What was Shuuko's deal? What was Tsubomi's deal? Why did Nyxia really like Roche now?
But Suki was not bothered by all the potential misery in her future. Haruna wanted to tell her something in private. The thought of someone willingly confiding anything in Suki was enough to make her blush, but trying to work out what could possibly be for her ears only set her heart aflutter. Tsubomi seemed like the better candidate to tell a secret to. Was it something about another club member? Maybe Haruna wished to leave the closet? Suki dared not even dream of it, but was it possible that Haruna wanted to tell Suki that she had a crush on her? That scandalous thought had Suki squealing from her seat in the club room, but she understood that was in the realm of fantasy. She'd take being Haruna's friend, however.
Also, she was very likely a magical girl. Haruna really didn't hold back on that swing yesterday. Tsubomi and Suki were enjoying it as casually as they could, but Haruna was going for quadruple backflips and sticking the landing. That was the one good thing about Suki and Tsubomi's nature. Nobody would ever expect them of being magical girls because of how frail and slow they appeared.
But while Suki could spend the rest of the evening picturing what Haruna's magical girl form looked like, it was probably best to prepare for another meeting.
Suki had several maps out on the table, all from the local area. She had pushed some pins into the maps and was in the process of wrapping a red string between all of them. There would be no hiding today, and maybe Rei would show up later.
“I'm glad I dropped Willow off at the babysitters.”
— Rei Ishiko
Rei was absolutely, positively, not going to show up today.
She had given Roche and Kiyo more than enough homework to keep them out of trouble for a few days. The new light girl was being strangely bashful around the dark girls, but it was sure to produce some interesting situations. Really though, it would be best to see if that hunt had any effect on them moving forward before deciding her next move. Let them have their secret meetings and reflect.
Rei Ishiko did not hide from anyone, but she was pleased that she was able to get out of the school without getting spotted by anyone. Now she just had to vanish into the night.

Not long after the catchup meeting started did the rest of the espers show up. After Ashley gave her excuse for being late, Mika groaned. "That’s such a weird thing to say.”
Fritzi looked between Ashley and Marrie. "It’s fine.” The eccentric doctor smiled. "The two of you pulled a literal all nighter to get things going. You even managed to enlist the help of additional freelancers to get the building bugged. I’m impressed. And I think all the intelligence you collected is going to be useful here. It doesn’t sound like we have much to worry about.” Perhaps the reason why it was “Marrie’s data” was because she was the one passing out the maps and notifying everyone of possible vulnerabilities in her software. "Actually, I wasn’t sure if you were going to handle the camera feeds or not. You seem to get along with Orion, so why don’t you follow her to the dragon? There’s plenty of warm bodies down here.”
”Some of us even have cold bodies!” The resident zombie started her chainsaw.
Luna pursed her lips. ”Just remember to wear your helmet. It might save you from splitting your head in half.”
”Oooooh! Good idea!”
Meanwhile, Billy sat back down in his hotrod with Ciri raring to go. "Ciri? If ya hadn’t asked me that question, I’d already be takin’ this pig downtown.” The engine rumbled to life. "But if ya hurry to your bike, we can take the weretiger’s to brown town!” As if sensing Ciri’s desire to fight, the shadow turned into a horse beneath her again. While the motorcycles revved, it dragged its hoof across the pavement.
The motorcycles were revving up while the other espers prepared to board Boteg. As pissed off as the dragon had been on that day, he looked timid and shy. The tip of his tail wagged like a dog that really didn’t want their master to see what they destroyed in the other room. Raven, Binky, and the Miko twins were already on board. Ashley and Marrie were preparing to get on, with Mika trailing behind them.
However, Mika stopped and raised her arm, blocking Amanda’s advance.
"I don’t think you’re coming with us.”
The girl wasn’t that much younger than Mika, but looked just as dour. A single tear formed in the corner of her eye. ”I know he’s up there. I won’t get to face him.”
"Who?”
”Timekeeper.” She sniffed. ”H-he hurt me. I want to hurt him back.” The young monster’s voice cracked.
"Huh.” Mika had never really thought too hard about the monster family unit. Most were just mindless creatures, and the intelligent ones tended to work in deceit. She knew who Amanda was, but this was the first time she had been in her presence. "He hurt me too.”
”Did he really hurt you?”
Mika looked over her shoulder. The Mavericks were still making a show of revving their engines, and the dragon wasn’t quite saddled up yet. "He killed my mom.” She looked at Amanda. "He ruins everything he touches, so I have to kill him before he can hurt anyone else.”
”He’ll hurt you again.”
"It’s okay.” Mika looked at her arms. "My mom died on her fourth operation in this place. This is also my fourth operation. I know she’s better than me, so this is where my life will end. That’s why I have to take him down with me.”
”...What?”
"Don’t worry, I’ve got this. This is your first operation, right? You can survive this.” Mika shooed Amanda away before turning around to board the dragon.
As for Fritzi, what was she going to do? It looked like she was going to stay behind and help the Mavericks out.
Two guards in front of the Golden Trove watched the street. They were both weretigers, but were keeping a low profile by remaining in their human forms. There wasn’t a lot of traffic on the road today, and there wasn’t a lot of foot traffic either.
”Man this shit is boring.” One said. ”It’s too bad something isn’t happening. We’re supposed to get attacked right?”
”At some point.”
”I hope they bring a lot of espers. Last I heard Gemini wasn’t doing too good. There aren’t any noteworthy freelancer’s left, and Maverick Alternative is a non-entity.”
”I wouldn’t expect much from the attack. Gemini’s got that secret agent thing going, and there’s no way the team up was anything more than a rumor. They fuckin’ hate each other.”
”You’re probably right. But part of me really wants that distant motorcycle rally to be them coming here right now.”
”...”
”...”
”It’s getting louder, isn’t it?”
”It is.”
As the Mavericks pulled up to the Golden Trove, several more guards stepped out of the building. The five of them were struggling to draw their weapons as the opposition rolled on in.
The camera feeds were showing a lot of action. Tony, Black Sabbath, Viper, and a slew of others could be seen rushing down the halls of the Golden Trove. There wasn’t much surveillance on the top floor of the hotel, but it seemed like it was as empty as it was going to be.
Boteg touched down on the roof. It was practically begging to be landed on. It was a smooth concrete surface without much to look at. The only thing up here were two giant AC units and the roof access. It seemed they had a moment to strategize before going deeper.
”What’s behind the door, Cerberus?” Binky dismounted the dragon.
Mika shook her head. "I’ve never been to the Golden Trove. But I can confirm that Timekeeper is waiting for us.”
Finn and Klava stood in what appeared to be a metal hanger. They were both seated at a small table with the fully upgraded mecha standing before them. Klava was mostly ignoring it as she finished her meal.
“Mmmm, this food really slaps. It's just a shame the ambiance sucks.” Klava pushed her plate aside before dabbing the corners of her mouth with a napkin. “Whatcha thinking about? You've been kind of quiet.”
"Oh! Uhm," Finn snapped out of his thoughts, glancing back up at Klava. "It's nothing, just...trying to make sense of everything that's led up to this, I guess." He shrugged. His eyes then drew towards his mecha. So far, his only magnum opus. It was almost a shame it might get busted up so soon.
"...You think things are just going to keep getting worse, regardless what's going to happen?" Finn softly asked her.
Klava shrugged her shoulders. “Dunno. I don't think about the future too much. Why, is there something in particular that you're worried about?”
"Guess I'm still scared that I'll still get the short end of the stick." The boy admitted. "That nothing will ever really change about me, no matter what I do."
As Finn finished speaking, a butler came to clear his place. "Do you believe that you are what needs to change, Fable?" Sofron continued to make eye contact with the boy as he collected Klava's dishes. "Are you familiar with the story of Pinocchio? He wanted to become a real boy, and so he did through his actions. He provided for his father and worked hard, but I daresay he was even more a puppet than a boy at that point."
Finn's brows rose when Sofron put in his two cents into the conversation. With an analogy to...Pinocchio?
"I...never read the original story, but wasn't the whole point of it to be an honest and good person, and all that?" He had to ask. Yeah, no one really said Finn was one in the first place, but for some god-forsaken reason he kept trying to be like an idiot. "I don't even bear much love to my own father."
"Good, because the point of Pinocchio was, actually, not to be a good boy. The point was that Italy was starting to industrialize, and they needed obedient little puppets to work mindlessly for their bosses. It was a propaganda piece to help mold children into their ideal workforce. Virtues such as being good, hard working, or revering a parental figure are all designed to ensnare and use you."
Finn's brows rose again. Huh. He genuinely didn't know that. Neat.
Klava leaned into her palm. “I think that's old guy speech for 'don't be a slave to what other people want.' Instead do what you want, because if you don't, you'll just be a puppet.”
Wasn't he already a puppet?
Finn hummed in thought. "I see." He looked between Klava and Sofron, then nodded. "Right, yeah, you make a good point. Sorry for being so tense."
“It's understandable, you're fighting old friends.” Klava stood up. “But we chose this path, so we might as well walk it.”
Sofron's eyes moved up to the machine. "I've never seen anything quite like it. Magi have made similar contraptions, but a machine that's designed to enhance an esper's abilities? That's not something these old eyes have ever seen." He placed a hand on Finn's shoulder. "You are quite the inventor, Fable. You should have nothing to worry about."
The boy's expression seemed to lighten up at the unexpected praise. When was the last time someone did that for him? Honestly?
"Th-Thank you sir." He mumbled in return, a small smile forming on his face. "It just...comes naturally, I-I suppose."
Though before the conversation continued, two figures had appeared from a shadow in the corner, after a few hours of doing some recon. Penumbra; Elise stepped out, Ramona silently following behind. "Gems and Mavericks are gathering, they're gonna be hitting the Trove soon. Everyone know the plan?" She relayed, stopping next to Klava.
"No, but I'm pretty good at improvising."
Sofron mouthed "smart ass" before pinching the bridge of his nose. "Of course."
"If a devil visits you in your cell, and you’re the only one who sees them, are they really there?”
— Bookman
The demon tipped his head. "Eavesdropping? A strange accusation from someone trying to gain access to government documents.” He lowered the dark tome, and a pedestal appeared beneath it. "But you're not wholly incorrect. Gemini has removed most of our spies from their organisation. We only knew you had been captured. As for how we know so much about you, well, the Hand has taken particular interest in your quest.” Bookman groaned when he realised he was giving away free information. It wasn’t a mistake he was going to make again. "Let us not dally further. I will be presenting you with contracts, telling you what they expect of you, and what you will get for signing them. You will be rewarded upon signing, but you will be expected to fulfill the contracts to the best of your ability. Should you break a contract, all of your magic will be taken away. Some contracts have a duration, others will last the rest of your life, so consider that when you go to sign them. Before we begin, one of these contracts will deal with getting you out. But let’s save that one for last. I will have a little bonus for you should you sign all the contracts. There aren’t many to go over, but it’s not like you’re headed anywhere, right?”
With a wave of his hand, a fancy wooden table rose out of the floor. It was close enough to the bed that she could use it as a seat if she so chose.
"I have some sensitive information regarding the Hand’s interest in you, as well as a host of other topics ranging from Oros to the very fabric of our reality.” As he spoke, a fresh page on the tome began to write out the details of the contract. A quill with a long black feather kept up with the demon’s voice. "I would share all of it with you, but we must know that you are serious about your quest. Do you really wish to rid the esper world of all its factions? If so, you will be given a series of missions to weaken the factions in Pax Septimus. Three in total. Gemini, Maverick Alternative, and Oros will all be involved in one of these missions. They are the three most powerful factions in Pax Septimus, and we are fully expecting you to assist with fighting the Hand once you leave here. So there will be no required mission against them. These missions will be explained at a later time, and you will be given ample resources to complete them. Refusing to perform them will be seen as breaking the contract. We understand that you have formed connections with certain espers, and you will not be required to harm them should you choose not to.”
The demon held out his hand. "You may shake my hand if you find these terms acceptable.”
