Getting a WIP up to give an idea of what I'm going for before I start on the bio, just so I don't finish up the character and then get rejected for something I didn't notice. Not really satisfied with what's already there, might add some more once I get the full sheet up. He'd probably fall into low-low tier or medium-low tier, I'm guessing.
The Question
Superhero Name: The Question Civilian Name: Oscar Ellison Origin City and Hometown: Hub City Sex: Male Race: Caucasian Height: 5'8 Weight: 140 pounds Age: 27 Birth Date: March 15th, 1992 -------- Costumed Appearance: First and foremost, rather than a skin-like mask that is applied to his face, Oscar wears a cloth mask under a brown fedora, which obscures all of his facial features but doesn't obstruct his vision. His costume consists of a light gray trench coat, under which is a brown suit with a white undershirt and black tie. Oscar wears brown leather gloves, and black elevator shoes which boost his height by two inches. Picture for reference. Civilian Appearance: Oscar is a seemingly average, unassuming man most often seen wearing a white dress shirt, a black tie and beige khakis. His eyes are baggy from night after night with little to no sleep, and perpetual stubble clings to his face due to the cheap razors he uses. He has brown hair in a close-cropped cut, and dull, icy blue eyes. Picture for reference. Icon: A question mark (?). Costumed Personality: The Question is an enigma, to put it simply. Speaking both laconically and sparsely, he is perhaps the very definition of a stoic crusader for justice. However, when he gets to talking, he really gets to talking, with filibusters on his various conspiracy theories ranging from the typical ('The moon landing hoax', 'Roswell UFO incident', etc.) to the odd ('Topically applied fluoride renders your teeth detectable by spy satellite') to the downright idiotic ('Aglets have an unknown, yet sinister, purpose'). Civilian Personality: Oscar is much better at hiding his unstable side. He is polite and cordial, never talking back to his superiors or anyone else for that matter, and seems to be a walking doormat. Beneath this friendly facade is an estranged man suffering from insomnia, with a very strong sense of justice and a black and white morality that would seem borderline insane to others. This inability to get a good night's sleep and his sense of justice is what drove him to become a vigilante. Super abilities: -Skills: Oscar is a skilled investigator, able to spot small details and make deductions if given the proper clues. He is also skilled in espionage, be it disguises or stealth, and is a proficient combatant, utilizing a mix of boxing and street fighting in addition to using the environment to his advantage. -Powers: N/A -Gadgets: N/A -Weapons: Brass knuckles worn under his gloves. Otherwise, anything he can get his hands on. Civilian Occupation: Financial advisor at Hub City General Hospital. It's a fancy way of saying he's an accountant. --------- Character History/Origin: TBA
Optional Information: TBA ---------- Nemesis: N/A (at least for now) Allies: N/A (again, at least for now) Team: N/A (rule of three: at least for now)
@Blackstripe Yeah, was planning on having him be a hero for a year or so already. And your character lives in Hub City? Well, looks like we might see one of the oddest team-ups ever in this RP: Captain Marvel and The Question. Er, a team-up of their analogues that is.
Forgot to mention in the interest check, but November 3rd is actually my birthday, haha.
Anyway, will do an analogue for either The Question or Green Arrow, though I'll more than likely go with the Question unless someone else wants him. I'll get the CS up tonight or tomorrow.
@Crossfire "Should be getting there in about two hours, but that's assuming we don't run into a band of wackjob pirates, mercs, etcetera that want our heads on a silver platter." Ace replies, then grins at Alessio. "And tell the missus I said good morning." As Alessio walks away, Ace turns back to Seth, "Don't worry about me and the Cap reminiscing about old times, once you've been with us for a while longer you'll have a shitload of stories to tell yourself. Er, more than you already tell of course."
(Sorry for the late replies, just haven't been sure what to write for this.)
Character Type - Canon Inspired Name - Mark Milford Alias - Daredevil (II) Age - 24 Social Class - Downtown Alignment - Anti-hero Archetype - Enhanced Human Powers and Skills -Enhanced Senses: Like the first Daredevil, Mark has enhanced senses, which can alert him to danger and abnormalities. However, unlike the original Daredevil, he is not blind and as such also has enhanced vision which allows him to spot small details. Advanced Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Mark is skilled in street fighting due to his origin within the Downtown area, where you're extremely likely to run into danger. He is not trained in any martial arts, though he knows fast and efficient ways to take down opponents. Free Runner: Mark grew up running along the rooftops and alleys of the Downtown area, and as such is trained in free running and parkour. He has an almost natural instinct when it comes to running to or from danger, which keeps him from tumbling to his death to the streets below. Weaknesses -Glass Jaw: Mark isn't the toughest guy around. Though he is good at dodging attacks, taking them head-on is not his strong suit. Though he can usually take hits from normal people, melee weapons will hurt him pretty bad. Going up against someone with super strength? Forget about it. Arch Enemy - None, though that might change. Appearance -Mark stands at 5'11 and has a subtle build, with muscles that aren't apparent until you find yourself face down in a pool of your own teeth and blood. He has dark hair and eyes, and usually finds the time to shave, though occasionally he doesn't which leads to a 5 o'clock shadow. He usually has a bruise or two on his face from his vigilante activities as well. As Daredevil, Mark wears a red and black body suit and a black helmet. The bodysuit is padded with Kevlar and the helmet is made of metal, leading to a protective if slightly encumbering outfit. BRIEF Bio - Mark Milford was born in the Downtown area of Nueva York to a young couple. His mother worked the night shift at a diner, and his father was a street thug. For the first few years of Mark's life, all was well, until one fateful day his father was gunned down by rival gang members. Mark, not knowing of his father's life as a criminal at his young age, thought it was an unprovoked attack and sought to avenge his father's death. Mark had hoped to set out and find his father's killer as soon as he turned 18, though at 17 his mother grew ill and he needed to care for her. This kept him from doing so for several years, as he didn't want to go out and get himself killed while his mother still needed him to care for her. At the age of 22, Mark's mother passed away in her sleep. Mark, now living on his own in a rundown apartment, set out to find his father's murderers. After a few months of tracking down every lead he had, during which time he put together a simple black suit and mask to hide his identity during his outings, Mark found his father's killers. He found out that day that bodies can bend in odd ways when you drop them from a thirty story building. Though Mark originally intended to stop after that, his exposure to the darker side of the dark side of Nueva York estranged him from normal life. He could no longer sleep well at night knowing there were still criminals out there who preyed upon the weak and innocent. Instead, he chose to continue his vigilante activities, adopting the alias 'Daredevil' after an urban myth he heard about as a child. And so, The Man Without Fear was reborn. Notes - Mark uses two batons as weapons, in contrast to the original Daredevil's modified billy club. Mark has been operating as Daredevil for a little under a year. However, he has only had the costume in the picture above for a month and people have only ever taken to calling him Daredevil since a certain incident detailed below.
Daredevil, The Man Without Fear
In...
RETURN OF THE DEVIL!
Cold. It's fricking cold. Whilst standing on a rooftop, awaiting the group of drug dealers that were supposed to be meeting in this apartment complex tonight, Daredevil suddenly realized that this new suit was a lot less insulated than his last one. Sure, this new suit provides more protection and will make people recognize him as Daredevil, but at least his old suit kept him warm when he went out to fight crime. "That settles it, I'm wearing my old costume under this suit from now on..." Daredevil muttered, his breath visible in the frigid air. Whilst rubbing his hands together to warm them up, he spotted the guys he was looking for. Four in all, entering the abandoned building for their meeting. "Showtime, Mark." Entering the building and finding the guys was easy enough. A fire escape was there, and Daredevil, using his enhanced hearing, deduced that the men were on the second floor. It was simple enough to climb down and enter through a window. Keeping low and using his hearing to guide him, Daredevil managed to find the disused apartment they were hiding out in. "You chose the wrong night to get together, boys." Daredevil declared, striding into the room with confidence. The four men jumped up from the table they were sitting at, all scrambling to get away from the vigilante. A dark grin broke out across Daredevil's face, "Don't worry. It'll be over quick in just a second. Not gonna guarantee it'll be painless, though." One of the thugs snapped out of his terrified stupor, pulling a pistol on the vigilante. In response, Daredevil ran forward, hoping to eliminate the thug before he could fire. A sharp CRACK! as the bullet flew from the pistol dashed the bit of hope in Daredevil's heart, and he bit back a scream as the bullet hit his kevlar-padded chest. Damn, that stung. Thankfully, he was right in front of the thug now. All he needed to do was grab the guy's arm and bend... KRRRK! There it is. The rest, who were unarmed, were easy enough to dispatch after that. Just a few whacks on the head with Daredevil's batons were enough to take them out. Before eliminating the last one, he cornered the man, and grinned that same dark, cruel grin. "I want you to tell your friends about me. Tell them that as long as I'm around that they should be afraid. Until you all get it into your thick skulls that I'll never stop, none of you are safe." "W-who the hell are you!?" The dealer shouts in fear. A dark snicker escapes the vigilante's mouth, "My name is Daredevil. Do you understand?" A jerky nod from the terrified thug, followed by a dry THUD as the baton did its job. Daredevil makes his way to the roof once more, traversing the Downtown area by rooftop in search of more crime. A scream pierces the quiet of the night. Another grin. 'I might be a devil, but the Lord is too generous to me...'
