"No. This is somewhere to be. This is all you have, but it's still something. Streets and sodium lights. The sky, the world. You're still alive."

Gonna try to get a post up in respond to ineffable tomorrow. Actually...
@ineffable, want to write a collab in the PiratePad? Might be a lot easier.

Oh, and in addition, I'll finally be getting a post up in Marvel 2099 tomorrow as well.
@Raptra
Affirmative, still on board.
@ineffable
... You do realize that Question wears a mask that makes it look like he has no face, so she wouldn't have been able to see the look he gave her, right?
Eh, who cares, I'll get a post up ASAP.
Dying to see Power Man and Iron Fist team up. Gonna get a post up for DD taking down those guys shipping drugs in a bit.

EPISODE 9: MAGNETIC NIGHTMARE

'Hm... Polaris, Polarity Man... Likely a link there. Partners? Brothers? Lovers? All three? Must investigate further.' The faceless conspiracy theorist thought to himself as Green Lantern carried them all from Metropolis to Chicago, save for Polarity Man who took his mecha. 'Yes, of course. He's separated from the group, making it easier for his partner/brother/lover to take us all out in one swoop. You really are an ethereal bastard, Trainor. Suppose I shall meet my end once we get to Chicago. Shit.' And with those thoughts, Question closed his eyes and awaited their arrival and his demise.

By the time they got to their destination and Green Lantern began to give out orders, Question concluded that he was, in fact, wrong, and that he and the others would live. 'Doesn't mean I don't need to continue keeping an eye on Lieutenant Trainor. Probably in league with the Illuminati. Must investigate further.' He was cut out of his thoughts as Green Lantern explained that he was going to rescue the remaining scientists and guards alongside Apollex (@ineffable). He did a quick scan of the token female.

'Powers: healing, unsure if only applies to allies or both herself and allies. Able to stop time long enough to heal her partners, at the cost of part of herself. Judging by eyes, still optimistic, still naive, still good and pure. Unlikely to turn evil, but still need contingency plan in case she does. Will think of one later.' Finishing his mental analysis of his teammate, he turned to her. "Come. Civilians to be saved." Without another word, he rushed into the building, quickly checking over his shoulder to ensure she was following.

As he munched on the sugar cube, he noticed the Lady in Red's pupils dilate as he did so, more than likely in want of whatever he was munching on. Without a second thought, he pulled out another sugar cube, tossing it her way. "Figured you wanted one. Not going to judge. Keeps me going, might keep you going as well." She continued to talk, saying how she was a native and grew up in the Wedge. He grunted, "Grew up in Wedge as well. Was an orphan, too. Saw worst of world as a child. Part of what motivates me now."

The Lady in Red hesitated for a bit after he asked if she had questions, more than likely in shock of the fact that an urban legend, a myth meant to keep criminals up at night, was speaking to her. He couldn't blame her. Had this happened to him, he would've fainted by now. Finally, she asked her questions. He had to bite back a laugh. Yes, he had gotten beaten up before. What mistakes did he make? He would have to write an essay to list them all off, though it all linked back to three things: hastiness, narcissism, and carelessness.

"Got beaten up before. First night, went after an entire gang. Was lucky to escape with my life. Beat me to a pulp, left me in ditch. Managed to force myself to walk to hospital. Reasons: hadn't a care, too reckless, too arrogant. Thought I was on top of the world. Wasn't. Night taught me a lesson in humility. No matter how great you think you are, always someone stronger. Best not find out the hard way."

Question had uncrossed his arms, pacing whilst he talked. "Conclusion: go back to my main point. Be careful. Be calculating. And make sure your willpower is strong enough to stand what you may encounter, lest you go insane from the revelation of the vile things people are capable of." He paused, then turned back to her. "Apologies. Go on tangents sometimes. Out of my control."

"Hunh. Lady in Red. Makes sense, I suppose." The faceless vigilante said, reaching into his pocket to pull out a sugar cube and unwrap it. He did so, pulling his mask above his mouth to pop it in, before pulling the mask back down and munching on it, savoring the sweetness. "You're doing good job. Seen you intervene in three different crimes over last week. Powerful, but lack refinement in technique." He added the last part almost absentmindedly, crossing his arms.

"Seem young, naive, so figured just warn you: be careful. City can and will chew you up and spit you back out if impulsive. If doesn't kill you, will break you mentally." A hint of venom could be heard in Question's normally monotone voice as he shifted his body almost unconsciously, a shudder running down his spine. "Just giving warning. Don't want to go out one night and find your corpse." He paused, as if noticing something. "Also, might want to invest in a mask. Keeps identity concealed."

With that, he went silent for a moment, then asked: "Any questions?"

This was the third time Question had found her taking out criminals. He had been rushing to the scene, having heard the woman cry out, and was just about to take action when she appeared. He couldn't see her features, she hid them well behind a hooded trench coat ('That's my look,' he had thought to himself when he first saw her), but she seemed to be a young woman. Definitely powerful, judging by the quick way she dispatched the thugs, if a bit inexperienced.

After dispatching the thugs, she offered to take the woman to a shelter. "Hurm." He hummed to himself, pulling out his journal and scribbling in a quick entry. Question's Journal, November 27th 2019, Entry #3; Following woman in red coat. Will speak with her.

Putting the journal and pen back into his pocket, he climbed down from his perch on a rooftop via a fire escape, discreetly tailing the lady in red and the other woman. He kept the brim of his fedora low, in order to avoid anyone noticing his mask, continuing to follow the two women. Before long, they reached a shelter, and the lady in red made her leave. It was then that he made his move. "Been seeing you around." He said from behind her, aiming to startle her. "Who are you?"
@Crossfire

"Pew pew, aggggghhhh, pew pew!" Ace played with two toy starships while waiting for the crew they were supposed to meet, making noises as he played out a dogfight. A few of his crew members chuckled at his antics, though Kira had shot him a glare, causing him to gulp and pocket the toys. A few minutes later, the ship they were waiting for had docked. Standing there with his hands in his pockets, he put on the sternest expression he could to put up a tough front alongside his allies.

Alessio greeted the captain of the ship, talking with each other for a moment before the captain told Alessio about a contact he had to meet before they could head in. He went off to see said contact, who was pretty close by and gave himself away too easily. The captain lampshaded this, causing Ace to chuckle a bit. It was then that Ace noticed the Nekross who was with the contact, chains shackled around her. "Huh. Never saw a Nekross before. Thought they'd be uglier." He muttered to himself, chuckling once more.
