Most of that works, except the "left behind to help the Rangers" part, since there were no Rangers after they sacrificed themselves and Zordon locked Bandora's Nanosuit away. It wasn't until the earthquake in Antarctica I mentioned that Zordon's ship was dislodged from the ice. So, the world was without Power Rangers for quite some time prior to the current team.

I would advise against having Sacha be centuries old like Zordon, though - even if he is a fully trained sorcerer, he should probably still be fairly young so he can better relate to the teenage Rangers. "Fully trained" does not have to mean "experienced master," and he could still be legitimately seventeen and in high school like the others. For instance, there are teenagers who have blackbelts in Karate and are considered "fully trained" in a sense. A Jedi Knight can be considered "fully trained" even if they are still quite young.

Hmmmm. I'd like to propose an idea, and see what you think:

Sacha is seventeen and a senior like the others at Angel Grove High School, but he just moved to town recently. Granny Udonna, his caretaker and mentor, had been experiencing visions over the Summer, and she had a growing sense that Angel Grove would become a place of great importance in the near future. Part of her powerset included passively sending her own energy backwards through time, giving her past self fragmented glimpses of the future. These visions were never crystal-clear, with many details fleeting like a dream you had just awakened from.

But this vision was a lot stronger than usual, pulling her to Angel Grove. Thus, her and Sacha relocated there and he enrolled at the local high school. She instructed him to keep an eye out for anything unusual around town, and on the first day of school, Sacha can sense a strange energy coming from Tommy, which happens to be the Nanosuit capsules sitting in his backpack. Then Sascha secretly eavesdrops on Tommy telling the others about the suits, and reports back to Udonna. She then reveals to Sacha for the first time that she is in fact many centuries old, and that these Nanosuits must mean that Zordon has re-emerged, which means it's likely Bandora is back as well.

At this point, Udonna brings Sacha up to date on her time with Zordon fighting Bandora in the past, and she instructs him to do whatever he can to help the Rangers. He then approaches them at school the next day to offer his aid, they don't trust him at first, but once he mentions Udonna, Zordon vouches for him.

What do you think? I feel like that is a good fusion of our ideas that will make for a great team dynamic.

My character will be slightly flirtatious, and I’m sure everyone in the school would know of him since he likes to host fundraisers for various charities and such and is always smiling and bringing joy even though he’s internally troubled by his own demons. So, in regards to the Zords , I know it’s a nanosuit but you never answered my question about my character having ties with Udonna and has ties with magic to a degree. I was wondering about his Zord if he could summon something and fuse with it to remain within the limits of 11-12 feet tall. He’d summon a mythical Siren/Banshee and fuse with them to initiate Banshee Mode which would be his Zord mode.

If none of that is okay I can work around it. Just thought it would be cool to do. Kinda wanted to blend my characters magical heritage with the technology involved with the suits. Nonetheless, I’m extremely excited.

Oh shit, sorry, I completely forgot you had asked that. I actually didn't know who Udonna was, so I had to do a quick search, lol. While I have watched all the openings and a few clips and episodes from the later series, I generally don't actively remember most of the names beyond the Zordon-era episodes. Mighty Morphin first came out in 1993 when I was like 11, and I watched everything PR-related religiously up until Tommy left during Turbo. Once Tommy, my favorite character, was gone, I didn't really care anymore and stopped watching. He was the only reason I kept watching Power Rangers into my teens, lol. I didn't touch anything PR-related again for many years, only getting hit with the nostalgia bug when I was in my early 30s (I'm 39 now).

So, anyway, about your magic question - I am okay with him having ties to Mana-sensitive bloodlines, but for the most part, special powers should not be public knowledge until the emergence of them as Power Rangers and the monsters Bandora sends out. I propose two suggestions - Sacha either does not know of his magical heritage until the Nanosuit unlocks it, prompting specialized solo training with Zordon until they find him a proper instructor, or he already has some magical ability but is sworn to keep the existence of his kind a secret.

As for your other question, since this version of a Zord is power armor that does not have the same molding properties of the Nanosuit, I'm not sure your Banshee Mode idea would qualify as one. That being said, I am still perfectly fine with you having the Banshee Mode as a power-up, perhaps an advanced version of the Siren's powerset that implements his unique magical talent. I suppose if you'd rather not have a mechanical Zord, we could say that the Black Ranger's mech got destroyed or is somehow inactive, so Sacha uses Banshee Mode to compensate.

As for the mechanisms behind Zord use, I envision them as sitting in escape pod-like chambers on the ship, ready to be deployed when needed. If you'll recall, I shared a link to Iron Man summoning the Hulkbuster armor a while back, and I envision the calling of Zords looking similar to that. Zordon could have the ship cloaked orbiting the Earth and just as the Hulkbuster pod fires off from the satellite, the Zord pods fire off from the ship.

Another option for you, Winds, would be to have Sacha not as a Ranger, but a fully trained sorcerer who comes to assist the team. Perhaps one of his ancestors knew Zordon and fought Bandora's army. That would give an explanation for his non-Ranger appearance and you can use Banshee Mode as a power-up all your own.

And yet another alternative is to say Sacha is quite skilled in Alchemy and Transmutation, and he uses that to further alter his Nanosuit and Black Ranger Zord. If using this third option, the Zord could be used as extra matter for a body-mass transmutation that fuses the Zord with his body to enable Banshee Mode. But since it is so fundamentally different from how the other Zords work, it might be better to go with one of the earlier options suggested.

Just some ideas to mull over. Sorry I left you hanging on that before, lol. While I don't know a lot about Udonna, feel free to use her in your backstory however you see fit.

So I was going through various image searches trying to decide the name and faceclaim for my character, and I think I've settled on Tomoyasu "Tommy" Miyazoko, the son of a Japanese father and an Irish-American mother. While he is definitely tech-savvy, he's also an experienced martial artist despite his young age. However, he did have some trouble when he was younger, and spent a few months in juvenile detention when he was thirteen after he brutally assaulted a gang of bullies to defend a classmate. One of the bullies would go on to walk with a limp for the rest of his life, and this event helped motivate Tommy to better control his temper.

I will flesh him out more in his CS. For the faceclaim, I'll be using a younger version of Jon Foo, who has had some kick-ass fight scenes, a few of which are linked below.

How do you plan to include Zordon? I was thinking he could be basically our Cortana, talking tactics to the rangers through the HUD and helping them use their powers.

Yeah, sort of. As mentioned in the original post, Zordon is an AI similar to Ultron, and is able to sort of "jump" into droids to control them directly. His primary way of communicating with the Rangers in the Command Center would be through a holographic projector of sorts, similar to how the EMH works in Star Trek: Voyager, though localized to only a small pod about the size of his warp tube in the show. So, to start, that would give him a few methods of communication - when he's in his pod, inhabiting a droid body, speaking over audio channels to the Rangers from afar, and syncing up with their suits' HUD when in full combat mode.

Although this version of Zordon is not a living organism as we would understand it, he still cares greatly for his Rangers, and exhibits a level of kindness and compassion many humans lack.

Hmmm. I was thinking over the best way to incorporate Nanosuits meant for combat that can also replicate various linen materials (such as for Winds' mage-type outfit), and I think we could make it similar to how the Vision can transmutate his appearance in the MCU, like his cape and outfits in WandaVision. For those of us that don't have a visible helmet, the Nanosuit could form a thin layer over their face and eschew the features, similar to how Vision changes between his human face and synthezoid face. Winds, for yours, you could say that once he first bonds with his suit and sees it's default appearance, he's like, "Oh no, this won't do," and he subconsciously changes it, afterwards being like, "Ah, much better." You could say he is a huge fan of fantasy themes and roleplaying games, and that could be part of his inspiration for the suit. And to insulate him against damage that would normally go right through loose cloth, perhaps it can shift localized density to reinforce certain areas at moments of considerable impact and pressure.

Also, since the suits should have some kind of HUD in the visor similar to Iron Man, for you Winds, it could be the equivalent of contact lenses or something. They could alter his true eye color so as to mask his identity and also provide visual data on his suit's statistics and anything from scans and sensors and such.

It will depend on the individual characters me thinks. I don't want to say before I see the sheets. No sense in everyone being friends if they share no interest, for example your guy sounds science oriented, so he would probably not pay much attention to Helia until he starts looking for his ranger team and sees her protecting others from bullies etc.

Even if they are different, there are ways to have them know each other. For instance, in MMPR, most of the Rangers don't have a whole lot in common, but they are all still friends. Of their few shared interests, martial arts, fitness, and hanging out at Ernie's Juice Bar seem to be among them. If Helia works at Ernie's, chances are she's already well acquainted with the others.

Since we all will inevitably be the heroic type, we could say they all became close friends the previous year at some charitable event, perhaps a city-wide trash clean-up or fundraiser.

I'll have the new thread up within a few days, in the meantime, feel free to post your characters here so we can all get an idea of each other's roles and such. We don't all necessarily have to use the same exact CS layout, but mine will be a fusion of what I posted above and the layout Forsythe used.

Everyone should also use this time while waiting for the main thread to hunt down any images you want to use for your characters. Base form, what their Nanosuit looks like, any upgrades, your Zord, any special attacks or moves that you want to include images or GIFs for, etc.

As mentioned before, the Zords are not giant mechas that can stomp out an entire city block in this RP, they are more akin to the Hulkbuster armor and act as enhancements to the Nanosuits. I showed a GIF of the Hulkbuster earlier, and the Gizmoduck transformation from DuckTales is also a good reference for a larger suit that pieces together over the Rangers:




As for the exact appearance of each Zord, feel free to use a design that matches your Nanosuit theme, but the Zords should each be no taller than like twelve or thirteen feet. I know in the shows the Zords usually join together, but since such a thing would be difficult to RP together and would take forever to finish a single combat action, we won't be doing that.

At the start of the RP, it's the first day of our senior year at Angel Grove High School. Do you want us to all know each other already and be friends, be loosely aware of one another, or complete strangers? Either way, my character - I haven't decided on his final name yet - will be on the look out for people he can trust with the other Nanosuits. If we want them all to already be friends, perhaps he has sent them all texts asking them to meet somewhere quiet during lunch, where he will reveal the secret to them or something. As for why he didn't say anything sooner, perhaps there were some delays in him returning home from Antarctica, and he only arrived back in Angel Grove the night before school started. We could even say he tried to get them to meet that night, but they were like "Dude, it's late, we'll see you at school tomorrow" or something.

Biography

Sebastian was born into a difficult time for his tribe, the Uhyt Eywaho Lah (Wolf Mother's People). While his birth mother was native to their land, she had been impregnated by an injured Irish explorer who had sought medical care with their local shaman. Because of their forbidden romance, she was nearly exiled from the tribal forest, until the shaman felt the growing energy inside her and knew she was pregnant. She insisted the mother stay under her care until giving birth, after which she could be exiled. To prevent further strife from occuring in the village, the father was asked to leave, and he did so peacefully so that his son may live.

Nine months later, Sebastian was born, and as was custom for their people, he underwent the Hachu’a ish Usugwey (Trial of Visions). This was a ceremony to peer into the souls of newborn children to determine whether or not they were gifted with an Uhyt Oyosey (Wolf Spirit). Not only did that prove to be the case, but his was a legendary Laquay Uhyt Oyosey (Sky Wolf Spirit), named such because the fur would be white like the clouds.

This bewildered the entire tribe: Not only was this half-breed bastard child host to a Wolf Spirit, but a Sky Wolf Spirit? Many tribespeople felt angered and jealous, considering the fact that a Sky Wolf Spirit hadn’t been born for nearly a thousand years.

Sebastian’s childhood was not an easy one, and he was the victim of rampant bullying for most of his youth. With the exception of his mother, the shaman, and the Chieftain, most of the village harbored a deep hatred of the boy. They felt as if he had stolen his destiny from a pure-blooded child. At age fifteen, as was custom, he accompanied other gifted teenagers out to the Iyatohica (Proving Grounds) to undergo the Hachu’a ish Tenebwey (Trial of Growth). This was basically a test to see if the children were ready to be deemed adult warriors in the eyes of the Wolf Mother.

During these youthful years, Sebastian had grown very fond of Liwaiyeh, a girl of the tribe about the same age as him, much to the ire of her father. The older tribesman was distrustful of the "half-breed bastard," urging his daughter to stay away from the boy. She, of course, ignored his request and spent time with Sebastian whenever she could.

The day before the Trial of Growth, the two teenagers went picking flowers together, frolicking and joking and laughing. He gave her piggy-back rides, and when night fell, they laid down in the soft grass and watched the stars, telling each other stories and singing together. After they turned to look each other in the eyes, they shared their first kiss, making them both blush fiercely.

It was at this moment Liwaiyeh's irises turned silver for the first time. Among their people, this was a sign that, through the Wolf Mother's guidance, a woman had bonded with her Eysapadwey (True Mate). They were both elated by this revelation, but the girl had admitted she was worried the instructors would be too rough on Sebastian during the Trial, especially now that they were joined. He waved off her concerns, claiming that once he returned to the village as a man, the tribe would give him the respect he deserved.

However, once they arrived at the Proving Grounds, the instructors revealed the true test was to see if the others could kill Sebastian and remove his stain from their people. They revealed that, at that very moment back in the village, a handful of warriors were rebelling and would assassinate the Chieftain, the shaman, Sebastian’s mother, and anyone else who were loyal to them.

Terrified for his mother, Sebastian tried to run back home to protect her, but he was attacked from all sides. After a bloody, desperate fight for his life, he managed to kill them all - even the instructors. He stood there, heart racing, chest heaving, fangs bared, claws out. All around him were the torn corpses of his fellow tribespeople. His white fur, the grass, the stones - everything was soaked in red.

After regaining some control of his senses, he turned and ran to the village, but he was too late - his mother was dead, surrounded by her murderers. Not only that, but Liwaiyeh had been fatally injured in the chaos. Sebastian ran up and held her, looking into her eyes. They glowed silver one last time as she lifted a weak hand up to gently rub the side of his fur-covered face, uttering his name. Her last words were "I will find you again, my love," and then died in his arms.

Overcome with grief and anger and hate, Sebastian launched into full beast mode, and within minutes, had slaughtered dozens of the rebels. It was apparent by then to everyone just how powerful a Sky Wolf Spirit was, and that it was a mistake to earn his wrath.

The surviving tribespeople dropped to their knees and begged forgiveness, immediately swearing allegiance to him as their new Chieftain. But this only disgusted Sebastian, as he could see in their eyes this was only out of desperate fear. He growled and howled loudly before turning and running away from the village, never to return.

He spent many months living in the wild, hunting and gathering to survive. Eventually, he began encountering human encampments, keeping secret his wolf abilities. He passed himself off as just a tribeless wandering native, and soon found himself as a laborer for Louisoix Leveilleur, head of a merchant caravan. Through this man, Sebastian learned both English and French, and spent a number of years as his right-hand. During this time, he hired another wandering native to ink tribal tattoos on his body, detailing out how he wanted them to look. They were identical to what he was supposed to have received after his Trial of Growth, and that was his way of finally making peace with his troubled past.

But the wolf began to notice his aging slowed to a crawl between thirty and forty years old, and once he realized that the Sky Wolf Spirit had gifted him with extreme longevity, he left Louisoix behind to avoid suspicion. After that, he stayed on the move, never staying in one place for more than a few years.

Sebastian always remembered Liwaiyeh's final words, and knew their people would sometimes be reincarnated. Although he never returned to the village, he did occasionally pass through the nearby forest to see if he could feel the Aura of his lost loved one. But after many decades passed and she hadn't resurfaced, he eventually grew disillusioned with that belief and assumed she must have chosen to leave him behind and cross over to the Other Side. Unbeknownst to him at the time, she had indeed been reborn, but in another part of the world entirely.

He embarked on a number of adventures in the centuries to come, ultimately finding himself within the ranks of the Watcher’s Guild during World War II. This was an international organization of Magi, an umbrella term used for all people of magical affliction. They fought to shield Unmagi from Magi operatives during the conflict, and continued that role in future wars to come.

By the turn of the Twenty-First Century, Sebastian had been living in a large secluded estate amidst the forests of western Oregon, pretending to be his own heirs as ownership passed down. The Watcher’s Guild had helped him with documents and legal proceedings in that regard, but that meant he needed to take a new name every few decades to keep his passport up to date. He had kept the surname Dane for several generations, continuing that trend when he had taken the first name Sebastian in 2015.

By this point, he spent most of his time in his manor, driving to a nearby town periodically for food and supplies. Occasionally, he’d still pilot missions for the Guild, but he had mostly retired, finally having grown tired of all the violence he’d seen in his long life.

That was, however, until he was asked to safeguard a young witch who would light his heart - and his groin - ablaze, and bring his past crashing down on him...

Biography

The Aedrasari have existed in some form since time immemorial, but even they, in all their greatness, cannot fathom the full extent of what was once known as the Vultrimako Expanse. A cluster of multi-dimensional worlds wherein many planes of existence intertwined, it was considered by many to be the center of the Astral Sea. However, despite its importance and firm anchor within Aedrasari history, remarkably little is known about the Expanse.

This is the result of the Scarlet Calamity, the details of which are equally eschewed. Those who grasped on to scattered fragments of their memories recalled unending waves of destructive, crimson mist that seemed to bleed out of the fabric of spacetime itself, tearing their reality asunder. Time and space lost all meaning, and the few who survived barely retained their sanity and sense of self.

Those who were not present in the Expanse during the Calamity were not unscathed, as even they found their memories of the location becoming scrambled. The harder they tried to remember, the farther apart their recollections scattered. Even forms of technological recordings of sights and events of the Expanse became corrupted and distorted. It was as if the Astral Sea itself wanted to erase all traces of it from history.

Any travelers who attempted to return encountered a gargantuan, galaxy-sized whirlpool of chaotic, destructive energies, equally visible from any plane that touched upon it. Thus, the Vultrimako Expanse became forever known as the Infernal Maelstrom, and was considered off-limits for thousands of years to come.

A rare few who were trapped inside did manage to break free, one of whom was Sadowa the Relentless. After experiencing a multitude of temporal distortions and causal loops wherein he relived the first few days of the Calamity endlessly and encountered Remnant Clones of his past, present, and future self, he lost all comprehension of the flow of time within the Maelstrom, and the ability to recall aspects of his past was severely diminished.

He doesn’t recall precisely when or how he made his escape, but he eventually found himself washed up on the beach of a tropical island in the South Pacific on Earth, completely devoid of all memories and sense of self. It was only after years of trying to piece together his fragmented mind that his amnesia began to fade. He reconnected with his fellow demons and began to understand the true scope of the Scarlet Calamity.

Over the following nine centuries, Sadowa built a luxurious life for himself within Aedrasari society, rising up through the ranks of the Hydra Consortium, one of the largest State Guilds in the Echoverse. They dabbled in a number of different industries, but their most lucrative business venture by far was the Thrall Services Division, which handled the tracking, capturing, training, and marketing of slaves.

Sadowa became one of the Consortium’s top Thrall Specialists, combining the responsibilities of both a hunter and a trainer. He was on a clear path to one day be elected the Lord Speaker of the organization, but his most recent catch proved to be absolutely life-changing for him...
