I don't really get why people think 'randomness' equals 'funny'. Also, why are so many... for lack of a better word, 'undesirables' prevalent in RP-ing communities?

I see this a lot in anime fandom RPs.
I'd like to see it in part due to some animes and a general lack of comedy-writing abilities.
Many protags in generic shounen anime are socially "undesirable" with bits of dark edgy undertones, social awkwardness or badassery. In an attempt to emulate this and the harems said protags often acquire, said RPers will use that same "undesirable" base to make a "cool" character and mix them in with other dark/metal/edgy/failosphy effigies, metaphors, powers, speech and quirks. People want to be like them and thus mix them with self inserts to some degree wither they're aware of it or not.
As for the random=funny, comedy writing isn't the easiest thing to do, especially if you're looking for a long drawn out sequence of humor across multiple characters and RPers. Unfortunately, most people want their character to always take center stage meaning that there is no support for the main push or punchline leading to a joke falling flat because everyone is trying to hog for the spot light. The fact that OOC discussion about incoming events/posts don't happen too often doesn't help thing either.
That and that adding a goat to everything makes everything a bit more humorous. Trust me, I speak from experience.

Again, the entire assassin thing isn't what he mainly does, its the information collection he does on behalf of his father and by extension (in a convoluted way). He can kill if needed but his main task isn't that of a killer as much as a stalker or any task that requires a bit of finesse.
