Sorry for my absence! A Volunteering position suddenly turned into a Volunteer Leadership position I was not expecting at all so things have been hectic.

Look at you posers, having to bang dragons or sell your soul for magic when you could just play a lute for some. Anyways, here's Wonderwall. - Bards

I swear that democracy is poor this world's version of communism. All these revolutionary government talking about giving power to the common people and the masses and making the rich and powerful equal to that of the poor and downtrodden.

Viva La revolution I guess.

@Oak7reeAnother idea could be that they where and army of a long forgotten kingdom, marching back to a kingdom under siege that awaited their return but their heroes never came.
@CycloneCan I ask what rolls are crunch and which are just for flavor for clarification?

@TheArhive Thanks for your work in the map thus far
@CycloneFair enough, I'll keep my pop roll then but can I ask if fireworks are a thing? I wonder if it wouldn't be too far a stretch to say that my people would have a fascination with them.
@Cyclone Thanks. I'm thinking of a Aztec/Medieval/East Asian mix with a potential civil war being the reason for the rather poor state of things. The old royalty pissed off the military who ended up aligning themselves with the rebels. A wave of new Democratic patriotism explains the mass if volunteers eager to prove themselves and defend the ideals of the notFounding Fathers. The need for money for post war reconstruction has given the wealthy an easy way into the poltical system. Lord if hunters and spear militia who served in the wat have become professionals through experience and mages also aligned themselves with rebels after the incompetent monarch fucked everything up.

I would like to ask if I could bend the military reputation, population and urbanization. I'm envisioning a race of half human half long dead race who have a natural disposition towards engineering with a religion that is sun, stars and moon based.
Derp. Disney internet doesn't work well in lines it seems.
@Cyclone I'm on vacation right now but could I have some rollios? You basically got everyone on board so might ad well hop in!
@Mercenary Lord The question isn't what interests me the mist, but what interests you the most. Its your character, not mine after all.

@Paradoxial Neat idea. I guess make a CS and we'll judge from there.
Could there be magic-inhibiting substances, anomalies, creatures or materials?

Some ideas I had where:
- The realm from which the mages draw power from (lets call it "Arcanum" for right now) could be a fickle thing and waxes and wanes in terms of how strong it is.

- Some illegal drugs could possible have a strong sedative properity that interfers with magic. Hell, sedatives or stimulants in general should make it harder since they will mess with your brain.

- Using certain forbidden or extremely powerful spells has a chance of conjuring up a magic demon beast or something and not even master mages can completely negate that chance.

- There should be some normal beasts that can "see/feel/sense" magic and thus can track people, espeically mages, across otherwise impossible terrain and hunt them.

I have some more ideas on materials, but that's another list in it of itself.
