Sorry for my absence! A Volunteering position suddenly turned into a Volunteer Leadership position I was not expecting at all so things have been hectic.

Look at you posers, having to bang dragons or sell your soul for magic when you could just play a lute for some. Anyways, here's Wonderwall. - Bards

My biggest issue with this site is the obsession with breaking down every incessant detail in a character sheet. I believe this detracts from the purpose that we apply in the first place: role-playing. In my opinion, I find a reference sheet or sample post more definitive of if someone can fit your collaboration than if they can write seven paragraphs about their backstory. I understand the utility of having a sheet to reference for notes and the tiny details, but it is so exhausting writing a lot of information for it not to be utilized or even relevant in the scheme of things.

Honestly I think it all boils down to whose doing the GMing and what they prefer; it just so happens that a particular style is the most commonplace because a lot of people use it.

That said, there are plenty of times where I have gotten really into a character or nation and wrote incessantly out of passion, making it all pretty with elevated language and such. And I know I'm not the first. One part of role playing people enjoy is making the roles in some cases.

Personally in my experience as a GM, I've allowed people who've written a solid 3 page story for their character's history, I've accepted people who wrote one. As long as it gets a general enough idea of that character's history and can justify what they have and how they act, its enough for me.
I'd like to implemented some homebrew lore: The Hunting and Sporting Goods department is a dangerous land full of bloodthirsty carnivores.

As a sub-idea, it would be cool if it was overgrown with flora, perhaps due in part because apocalypse and maybe the Garden Department is next door, so the plant life has spilled over and basically over run the Hunting and Sporting Goods department.

If permitted I'll write an actual piece on it and submit it to our benevolent overlord to check and add to the lore. (Probably after I write my IC post).

I'm in favor of that idea; parts of Sporting is filled with machines, the other is a true "hunter's paradise" to say and then the rest is a mix. Gives me the idea of a primal jungle where reptiles from Pets have managed to mutate into dinosaurs or something like that.

While we're on the topic of lore, I guess I should point out and describe two bits I made up for my own post:

Suburban Knights: A pun of "suburbanite", they are the knights to the castles of "every man's home is his castle" that Homeware people follow to extreme lengths.

Wallord: Not a mispelling, it refers to an Warlord within the Wal, typically a brutish tribal leader although others who don't fit that descriptions have taken the title.
@Mercenary Lord Found this and was reminded of your Knight of Nye/Nyght idea:

Sounds like fanaticism
@Mercenary LordHonestly I would have to be given specific examples to give judgement; I can't really blanket it.
@Mercenary LordPeople like familiarity, especially since the lore we're working off of is shakey, completely unique and otherwise a bit nebulous so people are playing it safe.

Think of it as an opproptunity to make your own meat viking/breakfast chinese warrior/technophile!
@Paradoxial I don't see why Leroy would be "Feral", crazed maybe but its not like he was born in the wild with no one to raise him. It seems much more logical by your Bio that he simply became obsessive of his work to the point of display some anti-social behaviors but I find calling him "Feral" is a bit too much of a stretch.

As for your equipment, I have an issue with the bombs and the gas mask. What goes into the bombs? How does he get the containers? Overall I'm not convinced he would be able to constantly obtain the parts and things; I would recommend that he uses a poisoned blowpipe or some form of poisoned blade (Skaven Weeping Blades from Warhammer Fantasy come to mind), I say that would make more sense than use of bombs. I'm also curious as to where he would get a functioning gas mask from the old world. The leather coat I can see where it would come from, but a gas mask? My suggestion is that Leory has a Plague Doctor bird mask filled with his own herbs that sort of act like a gas mask instead, I feel like that really fits his character.

Second thought, I think that a Plague Doctor/Alchemist/Potioneer/Poisoner theme works perfectly for him but that's just my opinion.

@MonsieurShade Saw this and I immediately thought of Jak for some reason

@Tsar Gatto A little late but thanks ^^
@Aeonumbra Seems good; curious as to what the language her weapons are in though. Just to confirm since I'm reading this less than an hour I woke up, she's a Bargain Hunter for the fame and prestige of it?

@Mercenary Lord Magic of RPing mate :p
@Mercenary Lord Don't worry, go an enjoy your love life ^^
@Raddum For what I have lined up really soon, it sure will be. Looking to hit the ground running once introductions are done.
I am totally not going to find a reason to get Jak-Jak high on helium
