@MonsieurShade@Paradoxial No my issue is that beyond the name change, nothing acutally changed about that aspect. To me that speaks volumes on the player's attitude. In addition, antisocial isn't about being Machiavellian and mistrust or being nihilistic about death. Its about not giving a shit for social norms. Think of Trevor from GTA 5 who can be considered antisocial, not only does he have random fits of violence, but will go around naked, piss on people in public and break all kinds of societal rules. Antisocial is defined as:
adjective 1. unwilling or unable to associate in a normal or friendly way with other people: He's not antisocial, just shy. 2. antagonistic, hostile, or unfriendly toward others; menacing; threatening: an antisocial act. 3. opposed or detrimental to social order or the principles on which society is constituted: antisocial behavior.
Compare that too:
Antisocial - due to spending most of his life alone as a scavenger, he has become extremely antisocial and vicious, and has no qualms about violence or death. He is also very mistrusting and sees people as rarely more than an ends to a mean.
While also on that note, how long has he spent "most of his life a scavenger"? It seems that most of his life was spent in his department, trying to make potions and stuff. Did he decide to run away when he was a teenager? How did he survive up until this point then if he isn't willing to make friends, mistrusting and acting vicious? If he was practically alone for all of it, fending off against actual malicious groups would be a very hard challenge seeing as Leroy isn't marked as a warrior of immense skill. Bombs will only be able to do so much unless the enemy is stupid enough to walk in a single file line or run extremely close together. In this case, I would like to ask for a bio rewrite from @Paradoxial as it would be helpful as to understating how did he manage to live so long in an very hostile world.
Even in Fallout, Mad Max, and 40k, you rarely have one person completely by themselves fending off a horde for years on end. Even the player character, the great hero of the all, is still reliant on the help of others in the form of supplies, fire support, etc. Think of all of the merchants in Fallout and companion who stick to your side. Think of Furiosa and Nux in Fury Road whose skills were crucial to helping Max. Think of the massive infrastructure behind the Imperium which allows the Space Marines to kick ass. Even if they are alone on the battlefield, they are never a single entity unto themselves. As such, I would also like to ask again that you change your bio, Para, since I'm not seeing any difference than last time besides "Feral" has become "Antisocial" with none of the weight behind it to support the change, literally just a relabeling to try and slip it past the radar.
@Paradoxial Not quite; you seem to have just replaced the words "Feral" with "Anti-Social". I thought there would be a difference in writing, I'm still not convinced on his "scavenger turned him into a mistrusting and vicious person who has no qualms about death". Honestly, I doubt anyone in the Wal would have a qualm and that most are mistrusting of others and can be quite savage. I think you are using irl standards to built a character personality instead of an IC standards, remember this world is nothing like our own in many more ways than one.
Putting a WIP here so I can work on it sometime when I'm more cognitive than right now.
Age: Assumed to be around her 20's Personality:
To say Ifanyr is ambitious is a bit of an understatement. She is driven to accomplish her goals by any means neccissary with few moral reasons as to not do things most others would shy away of. She knows full well of her own skills and capabilities and exploits them as well as she can exploit others. While not antisocial or uncaring, there’s certainly a disconnect and an uneasiness if what she is going is truly from her heart, or from her devious mind.
Hardly a moral being, Ifanyr would be considered a sinner of the highest order by any old world religion. Good thing that she doesn’t care enough about those old heretics for there is only Sky Father Tengri and Wild Mother Valvani who watch over and approve of her deeds. She weaves not a web of lies and deception, but a single fine thread of ambition that wraps around any who fall into it.
Weapons:
Even being so far down the chain of royalty still means that you are royalty. As such, Ifanyr was always given access to the best stock of weapons that the Blackbark tribe could produce. Provided none of her older siblings laid their own claims to it.
Vehicle:
While not her original vehicle back when the Blackbark tribe was still around, Ifanyr has since made the former caravan truck into her own “Savage Dominion”. Over the course of her migration with her warriors and refugees she has added to it and personalized it. Armoring it up, attaching a dozer ram to it, adding spiked hubcaps to destroy enemy wheels, a roll up tarp over the back with a flamethrower on the back of the cab roof and a harpoon tucked under some floor plates that can be brought up facing the back. And as is so common in the wasteland, there’s an abundance of hidden weapons. It has been decorated with several skulls and iconography gathered from the course of her travels and boasts a durable engine and some extraordinarily comfortable human leather seats.
Bio:
Ifanyr was born as the tenth child of Warlord Xerakt of the Blackbark tribe in the Wildlands in the west, her mother one of the dozen of maidens in his harem. Being so far down the line of succession, there was no chance of her ever inheriting anything of note provided she even if she could. But the silver lining was that her father cared little for what she did as she didn’t have any political value attached to her.
While her older brothers and sisters toiled away, being groomed into proper heirs and princesses, Ifanyr was free to perused whatever she wished. She showed great proficiency in the arts of persuasion and conversation, not afraid to get physical in ways which didn’t require fighting. Her charisma was positively brilliant and she made damn sure to take advantage of it at every opportunity. Beyond that she also proved herself a competent commander but more importantly, had a natural gift for remembering numbers. Using her royal blood, she managed to snag the position of Scrap Master (the person in charge of logistical and economic subjects) after seducing one of her siblings and killing them in an “unfortunate accident” involving a flag pole soon after. Ifanyr had taken steps to ensure that her own hands where clean and no one ever suspected that she performed the act with people assuming it was one of her older siblings playing politics.
With the position of Scrap Master under her belt, her father’s domain saw a spike in raids and loot; his armies now more efficient than ever. Not because they had new weapons or wheels, but because of the woman who expertly managed their supplies and budgeted their training time and planned their raids. During this time, Ifanyr took on two more husband, both of which “died gloriously in battle” and leaving her with their possessions and positions. Considering they were both wealthy and had a number of warriors under their commands meant that her resources grew and she had her own personal retinue which rumor had it that she spent more than a healthy amount of time with on long, cold nights; sharing a rather intimate bond with them.
Ifanyr probably would have probably staged a coupe had things continued this way, continuously amassing manpower and influence. But when she was entering adulthood, her rapid rise to power came crashing down when another tribe in the Wildlands, the Red Rivers, invaded with their own vassal states. Despite putting up a valiant fight, the Blackbark stood no chance. Seeing that everything had gone south, she had her remaining warriors gather up any supplies and civilians they could, load them on to transports and ride into the sunset. As the modest fleet of vehicles rode away, the Blackbark tribe was being burnt away from the history book, all of Ifanyr’s family dead unless they too got the idea to run.
Eventually, battling terrible weather and bandit raids, Ifanyr’s convoy reached a safe haven: the Iron Hills. With some negotiation, she found a new home for the refugees who joined the settlement and her former warriors as guards. She herself became a Sentry after having taken an oath to never again let a settlement be razed to the ground. If she truly believes this creed or is simply once again playing her power games, only time will tell.
Basically you start from nothing, usurp the king who only has an army of 200 peasants while you rock around with an army of 400 full plate knights. And then you basically play CK2 until its time to lead an army where you do it mount and blade style. Oh, also marriage requires you to go through an obnoxious courting ritual which may or may not end up in a dual with the dad.
@Raddum Since you are from the Dorfs, how would you feel about RNGesus being an actual deity for Dorfs? Also, I was talking with @Aeonumbra in the discord and I feel like that the relationship between dorfs and nevergrow is very similar to that of dorfs and goblins (namely in Warhammer fantasy). Also, the nevergrow might be all over the place because apparently we need that kind of terror in our lives.
@ROADWARRIOR Question: Am I allowed to use this discount female notImmortan Joe as a character design?
If not, I'll just use this guy instead or find another picture.
As for character, I'm thinking of something a bit more wild. I have some car pictures in wait and I'm naming the thing "Savage Dominion" regardless of what I end up choosing. Also, have some free scenery:
