Sorry for my absence! A Volunteering position suddenly turned into a Volunteer Leadership position I was not expecting at all so things have been hectic.

Look at you posers, having to bang dragons or sell your soul for magic when you could just play a lute for some. Anyways, here's Wonderwall. - Bards

Here is the CS guide. I am going to say that given the number of people, I will have to cut some people out since there is no way I could properly manage a group as large as this. I will judge you gets in based on your character and what they can bring to the team composition. If you have any questions I will be here to answer.

Good luck everyone, the Emperor Protects

@PrinceAlexus A Harliquin would definatley be intersting however you'd likely have to forgo any actual flare and pomp to blend in better.

@Skwint Abhumans are okay.
@BCTheEntity All three of them seem to be good picks although it does seem like we already have a tech priest.
"And now, their spirits lay in the horizon beyond, one with the United Nations. May their voices be heard and their afterlives pleasent, Amercia bless."

"Amercia bless."

The signing of the peace treaty with Troy wouldn't mean the war was over. For many, the aftereffects would still be there long after the nobles returned to their estates and castles and citadels. Boys would never see their fathers again provided they didn't die themselves and vice versa. There would be a drought of healthy men to farm the fields and tend to the other services for a time as new apprentices were trained and farmhands taught. War was no uncommon formality for the peasants of Nittany, but it was never something they took lightly too especially seeing the brutality of their most recent one. In ages past, the Men at Arms and the Bannermen had only fought lesser duchies and tribals along with the odd raiding fleet. This was the first true war with a kingdom that could rival Nittany to the point it forced a stalemate.

The dead would be burred, the ruins repaired but the souls of those would take more than mere hammers and tools to fix. It was here where the High Oracle Gispid found his truest callings, much to the chagrin of his compatriots. He started as a simple preacher to the masses and even in his high office, he enjoyed preaching more than anything although burials at a scale such as these always tested him slightly.

The crowd slowly dispersed as the gravekeepers and undertakers burred the bodies, piling earth upon the lost warriors of the Lion. The High Oracle himself stayed behind, uttering words under his breath, contemplating on what life meant for the divine deities until interrupted by a boy.

"Mister preacher sir?" the boy lookd young, still exuding a naive and innocent aurora only a child could. And sporting a brazenness only a child could display to the High Oracle.

"Ahh, young boy what is it you need?" Gispid looked around to see no adults in the vicinity, "Where are you parents."

Without a word the boy pointed to a wooden plank sticking out of the ground marked "Alica and Jonah Krask". Instantly Gispid knew the circumstances for he had seen many an orphan before who were stuck staring at their parents graves. But this boy was different for his eyes posessed not fear nor hatred like so many others. Gispid could almost say that he had a strange apathetic acceptance of his fate.

"Sir, why do people have to die?" the boy asked with nothing less than the purest of curiosity, "Is it because the gods will it?"

"Everyone must fight to protect what is nearest to them. But someone always dies in the end."

"But why do we fight to protect?"

"It is part of human nature."

"Is it human nature to die however?"

"Tis one reaction to stress along with escape."

"Then why do we create stress that we have to fight or run away from?"

There was a kindling of philosophical thought in his child, Gispid could tell. For his age, the boy was remarkably level headed and inquisitive; he would do well reading from the texts of olden philosophy and thought. He had no hesitation in asking questions to even the High Oracle. Great promise showed within him and with no parents to live with, he would likely end up in a church orphanage at some point or later so Gispid gave him an offer, "Boy, what is you name?"

"Hilan, just like my grandfather."

"Very well Hilan, would you like me to bring you to a church where you could learn the ways of old?"

The wind went silent as the world slowed. The birds paused their singing leaving only the breath of the aged man and his young partner audible next to the sounds of shovels and dirt. A near inaudible "yes" was heard, as the boy looked up at Gispid with eyes of yearning.

"Very well Hilan. Come, thou hath much to learn."
Looks pretty cool. Are assassins allowed to be part of this? I've had a craving for an assassin of some sort lately.

What kind of assassin do you have in mind?

A Dark Heresy-Inspired 40k RP

======================================================================================================

Inquisitor Karthis Talvyrn was a pious man if not a bit loose in his interpretation of the dogma pushed by the Holy Inquisition. Rather radical in his ways, the Inquisitor was well respected by his peers and always kind his followers as far as Inquisitors go. However, framed for something truly heretical he was to appear before an Inquisitorial Conclave to defend his innocence and dedication to the God-Emperor.

But that day never came.

At 0800 hours on the world of Hadriun Prime within the Hadriun System in the Segmentum Pacificus, the body of Inquisitor Karthis was found and in his room, incriminating evidence of heretical dealings were found implicating not only him but his entire retinue of heresy. Now hunted by the very organization they once served, the retinue of the Inquisitor swore and oath to clear not only their own names, but also that as Karthis so that his soul may rest untarnished. Or they may be able to live just a bit longer. Either way, they now face down a conspiracy greater than themselves where every shadow hunts them but entering the light can only mean death.

======================================================================================================

Welcome all. This is an idea I got after coming across some Dark Heresy rule books and also attempting to make an Imperial Guard homebrew regiment. This RP will focus around trying to solve the mystery surrounding Inquisitor Karthis's death and his retinue's quest to prove his innocence. It will take place in the Hadriun System will fluff being filled in/provided as needed.

As for your characters themselves, Karthis is radical inquisitor (in)famous for his tolerance of xenos and using them to combat heretics and daemons citing that of all the threats to humanity, xenos were the only ones who could be reasoned if not controlled. While this means you'll be able to play more than just various shades of humans, there will still be limitations and there will still be repercussions for your presence (having a random ork or eldar or tau walking around on a human world is going to raise suspicion to say the least).

The twist of the RP is that none of the characters have any Inquisitorial powers and the Inquisition itself is now hunting the former retinue of Karthis believing them to have also fallen to heresy and thus needing to be purged. Or just because they aren't blindly zealous humans.

Before denoting your interest however, I am going to give you some fair warnings. If you or your character some how seriously screws with lore or the overall story, they will be met with Ork Snipers. I do not care if it tramples on your "creative freedoms", if I determine its a possible detriment then I will confront you about it. Preferably however I will not have to do that. In addition, I will admit a degree of nepotism; people who I know and trust are likely to be able to get away with more things than someone I do not know.

Now, how far does your loyalty reach and what will you uncover next as you are chased and followed every step of the way.
For the sins of the father, are the sins of the son.

+++ THOUGHT OF THE DAY +++
Man is not punished for his sins, he is punished by them.
@BrokenWashing No its more that its been dead for nearly a year. If people are really interested in it, I might reconsider bringing it alive again.
@Letter Bee So I had an idea. What if at the beginning of the RP, the two of us have been fighting for some time now and it was decided that there should be some form of peace between us like a royal wedding between less important family members to try and seal the deal. Provided that whatever Dinh has planned doesn't screw with this idea, it could either be that the first posts could be like one of the last battles or just skipping that and talk of peace and wedding preparation.
