Malphas
In The Woods
@Rune_Alchemist

It seemed that Malphas underestimated his ability to jump. Rather than leaping to the treetops of this forest, he instead found himself face-first into the ground! Not realizing that one of the hunters had followed him, Malphas wondered if this was truly the end set up for him. Perhaps those scheming against him had finally decided to act against him! And to do so while he was already taking his leave? So uncivilized...

About twenty seconds later, and about fifteen seconds after Malphas resigned to his fate, he was lifted up by the villager who had tripped him earlier. It was from there that Malphas had recognized her in full, the huntress he had gotten to know a lot of the night prior! Was she here to continue their nightly escapades now, or...

"Ah, how could I forget? Malphas, although I'm sure you're quite familiar with calling out to it last nightx" Malphas chuckled as he was lifted up, dusting himself off rather quickly. For a man such as Malphas, who loved his followers like they were his own, recalling the names of past lovers was child's play, no matter how drunk he was. "I see now that you have a talent for making me fall for you then, Soyala

"It is a shame you caught me with my pants down, again. I've never traveled through the woods alone, much less used something like this." Malphas blushed as he drew his bow out, flexing the string. "Not my style, admittedly, although I still wish to learn how to use it as it was given to me as a gift. I'm sure you understand."

Malphas was quite surprised that Soyala had known about his quest. Disregarding how loud he might have been about it, Malphas was sure that the vision he had regarding that place was something of his own. Perhaps he should keep his big mouth more closed next time. Still, to see that the huntress is granting her aide regardless... Perhaps Malphas can indeed make something of an ally out of her.

"Whatever do you mean? You were quite fine following my directions earlier." Malphas gave a teasing wink as he let his tongue out, walking ahead. "Very well, then. I'll lead the way. Feel free to do as you please. All I ask in return is that you believe in me." With a playful hum, Malphas continued his march for the temple, keeping an eye out for that same flower the foxy merchant had asked him to find.

"I must ask, by the way, Soyala.... but is there anything that interests you about the temple? Perhaps something interesting enough for you to follow me to it? I'm quite new to this place, so I'm not too sure of the tales surrounding it, myself..."

When Lew set off on his quest to seek his friends, he did not realize it would have been soon, moreso with the specific person he had found. Calace, of all people, making some sort of scene at the Gakui-Rei recruitment tent. Lew thought she didn't play anymore, or at least had her own little group to play with. The more Lew thought of it, however, the more he'd rationalize the one thing that would make sense as to why the little healer of their group wasn't with them anymore: She probably got lost, again. Shrugging either way, Lew made his approach.

"Didn't expect you the type to join with the Gakui-Rei, Calace. Does this mean you think you're cooler than us?" Lew asked, trying his best to sound cool as well, possibly failing. Looking Calace over, it seems that Lew is much more well-equipped than she is. He wondered if she was also underleveled like Ari, but quickly realized it probably wouldn't matter. Calace is a healer, and Lew is as close to a tank as he can be at his level and class. All they needed was a primary damage dealer, and they would be set up for leveling.

"Eh, I don't mind helping you out if this is the faction you're settling with. If you need a tank to party with, I guess I'd help an old friend out." Lew scoffed, raising his Nuclei-embroidered arm with a smug grin, although he looked more creepy than anything. Still, Lew allowed the electricity surging within his armband to surge slightly, hoping it'd make him look cooler along with the rest of his gear.

Whatever the case may be, Lew opened his menus and sent the wayward healer a party invite.
To what extent can our starter talents be at? I'm assuming nothing on the level of true ESP, like in Re:Monster, but more like uh... the passive race bonuses in Skyrim?
Yo I've been getting into Re:Monster recently. Totally up for this!

As Khol laid there, his consciousness fading, countless thoughts raced through his head. How he was useless, weak, nothing but a tool to be utilized... Such thoughts ached at the brigand's very being, gnawing him from the inside. As his vision shifted darker and darker, the many voices taunting him also began to fade one-by-one until there was one remaining. A deep, guttural voice, one that spoke in a low growl.

Weakling... Don't you remember what tonight is?

Recalling the restlessness he suffered from the prior night, Khol had realized something vital, something he would normally scorn if not for this very moment. Last night was the full moon, and if Khol remembered the movement of the heavens correctly, tonight would be one as well.

As Khol was being mended on by Hawks, something most peculiar had occurred on the half-giant's body. The tattoo on his chest also glowed with a silver flame, more intensely so as the dragonborn worked his magic. It seemed as if the healing Khol was receiving was far more effective than Hawks had anticipated. The healing magic seemed to cause the burning sigil engraved upon Khol's chest to flare mightily, a blaze of blue and silver flames exploding forth. While it was indeed quite warm, the flames themselves did not seem to harm Hawks or anyone else nearby, but instead it accomplished the opposite.

Everyone would feel their magical reserves increased by Khol's presence, although such a thing would likely matter little to a troupe of spirit-casters. What followed, however, was something much more peculiar, much more frightening. As if brought forth by the flame, a strange spirit floated above Khol's unconscious body. It appeared to be the upper half of a dire wolf upright like a man, its silvery fur about as metallic as the bits of armor it was encased in. It bared its fangs at the blight-spawn, its clawed fingertips jutting outwards, almost as if they tore through the very air. And at instant just like how it appeared, it charged forward, unleashing a tornado of tooth and nail as it zipped directly at the large blight's center mass, cutting down every lesser blight in its path.

As the beast tore through the enemy ranks, it bellowed out a harrowing howl, one that was quite familiar to those who have ever traveled to the Hallowood. Indeed, while it sounded like the howl of a mighty wolf, there was something off about it. It's as if the howl was uttered by some sort of madman as it carried a hint of lunacy.

The voice spoke in Khol's head once more, chuckling softly as if satisfied. As it did, its voice sounded less distorted, less beastlike, and more... familiar? In other words, it sounded like he was speaking to himself, but with its own autonomy separate from his thoughts. In a mocking tone, the voice uttered a taunting phase.

What a wonderful night to have a curse...

The recruitment office for the San-Li looked quite impressive. It seemed like Lew was indeed making a smart choice in joining up with this faction. He did have a few questions regarding the intricacies of membership and what sort of role they would play in the coming battle. At the same time, he was more than eager to just join up and get those formalities out of the way afterwards. He stepped towards the desk, his hand motioning for wherever it is he needed to sign...

That was until Lew glanced at his menus once more, seeing the messages of his friends. Their concerns for him sung to his heart once more. It was then that Lew, in a sense of clarity, realized the true reason why he bought this game. The realistic monster girls was a draw, sure, but if it weren't for his friends' goading, he would have never likely played this game in the first place. It would be a shame if they ended up on opposing sides of the battlefield in the end, more so if this locks them out of adventuring together.

Such a fate was soul-shattering, to say the least.

After standing there for an uncomfortably long time, Lew bowed to the recruitment officer before turning back from whence he came. Perhaps instead of gaining influence through a faction, he would do it in a less restricting matter. Quests from Shin-Yu Temple were likely enough to boost his levels and his fame simultaneously. Before he made his way to the boards, however, he opened his Friends menu once more to see if everyone is still partied up or not. Even Ari was someone Lew was willing to quest with. She might have gotten him killed, but she still is his friend through and through... Though, perhaps Lew will offer to take the lead in that case.

Whatever the case may be, now it was time to seek them out!
