Hello.

I'm The Dancer or Nine. I'm close to thirty, respond to any pronouns, and my time zone is mostly irrelevant as I hardly have a schedule nowadays anyway. Outside of Roleplaying, I'm a full-time student pursuing my second degree in Microbiology while studying Women & Gender Studies on the side. I also work as a barista during the academic year and own two wonderful cats.

In terms of Roleplaying, I've been Roleplaying for about sixteen years on a variety of clients and sites ranging from Amino to Tumblr to Facebook to VK and so on. As of late, I've been looking to write specifically on these forums. As a Roleplayer, you can expect from me:

  • Quality over quantity.
  • Past tense, third person, A- grammar.
  • Many, many characters played at the same time.
  • One-liners up to five paragraphs, depending on circumstance(s).
  • Optional romance (heterosexual, LGBTQIA+, and poly-ship all welcome!).
  • A love for Found Family, Hurt/Comfort, character development, and much, much more!

Fandoms.
Green means "I'm interested in this fandom, no matter what!"
Yellow means "I'm hesitantly interested, but you can convince me!"
Red means "I like this fandom, but you'll need to really convince me to write it."

Plots.
Any details for each of these can be changed upon request!

Vague Ideas.
  • Let me write a dating sim for your character(s)!
  • Zombies and disease arcs are always a yes!
  • Exploration stories? Maybe even with a curse?
  • Human experimentation stories, maybe?

WIP. Please do not post here, thank you!

Welcome, Shard. I like your avatar. Although you're not experienced, here's to hoping you can find something enjoyable to write.
Oh welcome back! You leave roleplaying behind but it always seems to pull you back in, huh? Join the fun!

Roleplaying will never truly leave me even when I'm practically dead when classes are in session. I just haven't written on here in a while. There's a niche fandom I would like to write for, though, and for some reason, I thought I might have some luck here? Maybe. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Anyway, thank you for the welcome (back)!
Thank you so much for the wonderful advice! I know I could have used that stuff growing up. Keep on being amazing!

I think that sentiment is true for a lot of us.

Now that these resources do exist, I'd like to think it's our duty to share them whenever we can, especially for the younger folks who are still finding themselves/not fully in control of their lives. Abuse, trauma, mental illnessβ€” These are topics that we do not need to be ashamed to discuss though there's always a time and a place. I'd be happy to spend a little time helping people find these places as needed.
I also vote for The Noise.

I really like the idea of Quiet as a concept though I don't think it met its full potential. It felt a little rushed near the end and I would've liked to see more of Momo before we're unceremoniously reminded of the passage of time. As a pet owner, I think a short story like that could really have been a bittersweet gut punch. It really just felt like it needed a little more time to bake in the oven, both with a bit more content and a little bit of editing (some grammar mistakes stood out to me here and there, but nothing egregious).

The Noise is admittedly a bit wind-y for me in that the sentences are quite long and I tended to lose track a bit while reading it. The rest of it is pretty fun and quirky though! I like the bits of world-building we get as well as the personalities of both Stacy and Kate (though I did find it a bit interesting how Stacy and Kate are in a world with much more fantasy-coded names, haha).

Great job to both writers!
thank you, but i still have my family and friends' support and it's enough for me :)

I'm glad that you have their support then. Cheers!
Hi, OP.

I see based on your profile that you're on the younger side and this seems like something I would have posted at your age as well. I come from a history of abuse and it was very much a cry for help on my part. I don't know if it's the same for you and I don't want to presume, but I did want to echo the sentiment of the user above me. If you're in a position where you can safely ask for a therapist, it might be worth it to do so. If you're not able to do so, I might suggest Teen Line or some alternative to discreetly discuss what you're going through (here are some resources from a family member who works with teens in the USA):

Journaling is also a great suggestion though it's a difficult habit to start on your own. Guided journaling apps, such as Bearable, are much easier to get used to in my experience. Sports and creative outlets are also a great way to deal with anything you're going through. I personally did Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a teenager to deal with what I've gone through and maybe you'd find some luck with a local team for whatever fuels your interests. As for creative outlets, Roleplaying is an excellent start and there's always poetry, lyric writing, drawing, sketching, etc. Volunteering also helps and I know there exists Teenage Advisory Boards in libraries as well as junior volunteers for the SPCA (at least here in the United States). All of these could be outlets for you to cope with anything you might be dealing at with home, at school, or elsewhere.

If you need any further specific resources for whatever you're going through, I'd be happy to hunt them down for you. A Roleplaying forum is not the place to be discussing these matters, but there does exist hotlines, websites, support groups, etc., that we can find for you. Know that you're valid, your feelings are valid, and you are not alone. There are people out there that CAN help you.

Stay strong and take care of yourself.
