It will be post serenity only in the fact that faith has fallen in the alliance due to large circulation of rumours.
None of the cannon characters exist or will be interacted with.
Just to keep things simple for me.

I was torn between it being an application to join the team and an Alliance report. (They have info on everyone!) also do you think there should be a general items section?
Anyway here is my reasons and rebuttal.

Okay now to address the Character Sheet which I as a Table Top GM love but have found might turn away many RPG players in the guild beyond the Advanced threads
"Well let them flee! We will only take the truely interested.Yea I love character creation but understand sometimes it can go too far. I was aiming for an in between that required some depth of thought and commitment. But I will look at simplifying it a bit further.

I love everything up till we reach Personality which often gives Out Of Character information about a character which their friends might know but people who have never met them would have to learn on their own; might I also add most players alter the personalities of their Character as play progresses so that in the end they barely resemble the initial draft.
I have done that very thing! Written up an in depth personality and then totally change it in my very first post. Hopefully your basic likes and dislikes won't change too much but that part is always open for edits and adjustments. Really it's more for me so I can personalise things towards characters.
Love cats? Illegally smuggle 100 of them.
Dislike clowns? Oh fill in as transport for the circus...I won't expect too much in the final section. Just a few lines.

The stats are lovely when you have a dice powered game but confuse a lot of guild members and add a mechanic that might slow the game play. I could see people being asked to rate their Primary to Weakest Stat...IE. Pilots and Gunfighters would prefer Agility over other stats, Brawlers Strength and so on. The weakest stats are the lovely little points where Grunts need Nerds and Nerds need Grunts.
XD I like stats to stop one person being great at everything. If you want to be super bulky it will cost you elsewhere. It also just acts as a comparative value but I won't focus too heavily on them.

Love Talents and would say that they only have two at the most though one might be best 1 good one or 2 little ;)

The quirks are a nice addition but some are personal and might only be known to those that are familiar such as Phobias and Mental Issues. Deformities such as battle scars and such could be listed in the description
If you want to keep it secret PM me but this is here to balance the talent, A scar would only count if it was visible and hindered your appearance. Or a bullet wound that caused a slight limp and hurt in the cold. Maybe your diabetic? But yea feel free to PM it if you want to keep it secret. it should hinder your character in some slight aspect.
Sorry to be so critical but Please understand none of what I’ve pointed out is an area that I can’t deal with if it is your decision to use it all.

I am bored and filled with a need to write about anything.

Treating bullet wounds and broken bones = easy.
Diagnosing an illness or unusual condition = *shoulder shrug*
"But I thought you were a doctor?"

XD sounds like fun!
Maybe you can even seek out some assisting technology later.

These are the main roles I would like filled,

• Pilot
• Mechanic
• Doctor/Medic (some level of fixing players up)

There are plenty more useful roles like Chef, technician, linguist, negotiator, ect.
But we need the others to fly (and live).

If it's alright with you guys I'll start on the OOC after I get a few character concepts.

I'm also thinking this is a brand new crew, first flight.
You may have known each other before.

Lastly... Who owns the ship? Joint investment? Single captain? Dual partnership? None of the above? Perhaps a silent partner that influences the jobs and takes commission/rent.

As soon as the ship was stable Arex exited his room and went straight towards the kitchen. He could hear signs of the rest of the crew around him, noises from behind the dorm doors and down the hallway but he wasn't feeling overly inquisitive or social.

Once in the kitchen he began to search through and study the quality of their rations. After all this would compose his main diet from now on. Plenty of nutrient heavy packaged processed foods lined the shelves with powders and pastes by the plethora. The fridge and freezer held a bit more promise but segments were rationed and locked, only to be accessed by the chef.

Knowing where the cameras were Arex subtly pocketed a few bars and pouches with some simple sleight of hand. It was a selfish move but he would not rely on the good will of the others should they become stalled in deep space and short on supplies.

Tearing open the packaging of a dense dry chewy nutrient bar, he eagerly begins gnawing away at the near flavourless snack. It wasn't until now did he realise just how hungry he was.
A short moment later he sat at the table with a drink and bowl of semi solid mush before him. The food in the bowl was the instructive result of mixing one of the powders with liquid then zapping it.
Flavourless would have been better, but right now he didn't care.

@Dark Light@TheUnknowableI’d like to warn you that many people will seek to play River or a Twisted version of a Companion and I find those strange because the fact that Serenity had a Companion was a rarity and let’s face it River was basically a one off

I could allow a companion even though it's rarity but it would have to be a proper educated companion. Although rare it adds a certain dynamic to the group. However we would probably focus very little on their work.
But no River like characters for sure.

I would probably put this Rp under casual because I don't always expect massive posts but I would like some depth to them.

Since we got a bit of interest I might start looking up ships.

I think the key is finding the right ppl!

I've been thinking that each character should have a bit of depth and plot hooks so that small stories can grow that revolve around their past and interests.

Have you got/seen any good character sheets that would fit this?
(I'm kinda feeling too lazy to build one right now.)
