I'm gonna be honest with you: I prefer that the leaders look that way.

For one thing, there's not enough artwork for all the leaders. For another thing, I'm not even sure there's any way to replace the leader's talking audio. And for a third thing, as I said, I like to think that they're all just various representatives of their nations, and they're REALLY into cosplaying. I swear, Sotelo should hire a different diplomat...not to mention Arnold....

Regardless, in time, I'll replace the textbox stuff to where it's a more obvious indication that they're just cosplaying representatives. Methinks it'll be funnier that way.

I'm coming at this with minimal experience since I basically haven't played any Civ game since Civ 2 where the advisers were live-action. Also the direction I may be going will probably trigger Vilage so I'll just chunk it in a hider.

Hider

There's a mod for Civ five that adds MLP nations from, of course, the MLP community. Now I don't know the extent at which the mods goes into detail, so I don't know if the guy who put it together got any number of the hundred of amateur Voice Actors to do any lines. But I suspect that as Vilage suggested, then the best bet would be to use static images as I think they no doubt used. Case:







There is of course the massive art world or screenshot archives for this guy to utilize. But it works for him.

EDIT - I dived into the world of nasally Let's Plays for your sins and can confirm that the portraits in the MLP case are only stills.

And I may be lazy and slow to arting, but some inspiration and purpose never hurt.

It's purposefully vague because between Vilage and I we settled that the Ethiopian communist party would be there petitioning to the International, and they wouldn't like a plan rescue of Ethiopia without the International plying for some way to transition or force Africa to up-front communism.

Of course, they can't have all of it since China is pro-Yaqob and some other parties might swing in his favor (Cambodia would be sympathetic, being a constitutional monarchy in a sense, where-as Yaqob is a sort of son-of-China having been educated there and lived in exile in China). So if off the bat the purpose was to kick out the Spanish and then do what they were trying to do but communist wouldn't turn over very well.

So of course they're settling with a vague promise and deciding to decide to see how things are after-the-fact. If Ethiopia needs a new government for reconstruction and the role of the Solomonids rolled back: so be it.

But this is something I plan to go into detail later when I get the chance.

Last thing I read was a history of Byzantine philosophy and the broad impact the declining Empire had on the renaissance in western Europe, its impact on the Mu'tazilah and Falayasaf movement in the Golden-Age era of the Muslim world, and on the development of the Slavic peoples.

It was pretty interesting for a read I did idly while playing Banished or going on long-ish car-rides.

Speaking of which, how are things looking for Mexico? Anything important I should know about? Has anyone taken it up in my absence? If not, I might just like to pick it back up....

I probably could have used you earlier, but I guess you will have to fill in later. But of recent events:

The Third International's central Politburo elected that yes, there's grounds to go to war with Spain. This comes with agreement from most of the member nation's fifty-person delegations.

I want to go over the exact terms later, but to keep certain areas in synch with activities abroad I'm holding off until @Vilageidiotx and I do something with Azima and Hou. But the general premise is that the International has declared a state of war between it and Spain to drive the Spanish out of Africa and broadly "reconstruct the African regime". It'll probably take a while for further nations like Mexico to catch wind, so don't worry about it just yet. And though it's not a formal declaration of war on behalf of all the nations involved it does establish certain minimum obligations to contributing to the military state of the war. So Mexico will be expected in time to deploy at least some troops to Africa to back-up the Ethiopians.

On an informal basis this may be a move some individuals might use to drum up full war support depending on what's going on at home. This will come into play later in Asia.

Writing up an extensive murder scene for a roleplay like

That said the obvious choice for describing a crime-scene is through puns and metaphors related to any CIS show/spinoff, NCIS, Criminal Minds, and/or Sherlock. Perhaps The Wire if it's high-class.
