Current Its a fun feeling to just sit and think about what to do for responses. The flipside is feeling locked in place, waiting for another to go first on something.

You ever take a look at the forum board, not see anything of ready interest, and decide to just go about your day? Figured I'd see if a new game was interesting, nope, ah well.

Writer's block is a pain, but if I happen to owe anyone apost, I'll be working on them tonight, hopefully. Might go surfing, see if any games catch my attention.

Bio

I already did an earlier introduction, but this is something one could always see, so let's roll.

Serene is the pen name that I use over on my old G+ account, which if you're able to find the account before the site shuts down, is Serene Selphia, but no fancy url, lol. But to those I'm close enough to, my nickname is Chris, and if I ask you to not use it, its nothing personal, I'm just not ready for that level of friendliness. That isn't to say I'm not a friendly person, just that I can be a bit professional when it comes to stuff. I've been rping since like...2011 I think? If I could find the Minecraft rp forums I started on(yes those were a thing, it was actually full of good rpers, but all good things come to an end of course), I'd have a precise date.

I roleplay a lot of things, well, that was the old system. About four years back, I settled down in a roleplay community on G+ called Temple of Glory, and began to stick to just one character who I kept working on, using other characters as I felt the need. That was my current primary character's father, a character I'll call the Professor for now, as I intend to post a version of his character sheet later. Probably when doing so wouldn't spoil what became of him in a storyline. Anyway, after a point I burned out as him, and switched focus to his daughter, who I use primarily in the old roleplay hub I come from. The Good Doctor, and here, no spoilers, mostly because ahaha, I'm shy about that.

I love a lot of series, but my heart goes out mainly to Rune Factory, Sonic, Mega Man, Metroid, Mario, Pokemon, and Duel Monsters. Especially Rune Factory and Sonic, though lately I've fostered a love for the Nasuverse, Fate Grand Order is a fun time. I love to read a variety of things, and I'm always online unless sleeping, so feel free to drop me a line if you need it. While I'm relatively new to the site here, I'm an rp veteran, and a skilled writer, as you'll see whenever I post the Doctor's current profile.

Ah right, more on me. I'm a college senior presently, I just had my capstone for my history degree wrapped up, and I'm proud of my progress. While I am a loner by nature(I mean my writing often keeps me trapped in my room to meet paper deadlines), I'm still a sociable person, and if you can't reach me here, my Discord is Serene Selphia#1064. So I suppose that's a bit of a spoiler, but to who, I won't say. Just be forewarned, if you ask me about a character of mine, there's a risk I'll write a lot, so make sure you're totally fine with that.

In terms of roleplay, while I do mainly fantasy/science-fiction, I can roll with just about anything(as far as I know), but if I tell you its not working for me, don't take it personally. I'm a fairly detailed writer, and in terms of style, I'm good with both combat and non-combat related narratives, I mean, my current main was built for combat initially, whereas her father is more the sociable type. The most detailed things tend to when I describe the world around, or when writing profiles for characters I adore. Basically, if I'm in tune or really love something, you could get a lot. I once wrote about twenty pages on a google doc in two hours because I loved it so much. Weird flex sure, but you can understand it. I don't look for much in rp partners, so long as you can write me enough that I understand either what you're doing, or what's going on, I'm usually good. I'll generally drop a line if I need more information.

I love learning, so if you ask me about something, and I don't have an answer, I'll gladly take the time to do at least a basic amount of research. And if you're ever stumped for ideas, drop me a line, I'm always glad to help fellow veterans or the newer folk. Heck, at one point for a friend's group I wrote an entire(albeit unused) document full of random plot ideas for the group drawn from throughout film and video games. Point is, if you need someone to talk to, unless I'm in a bad mood, or its a bad time(aka I'm about to go to bed, or in class), I'm always up for at least a quick chat. I do take commissions, so if you want a fanfiction written, give me a holler, or if you just want a custom story about a character of mine, or just ask for them to give their input on something in a non-serious setting. Still debating what to set prices for, or if I work totally free...I mean I should charge something, but anyways, wew, talk about a ramble, eh?

Anyways, that's about it. I'll probably rewrite this as needed.
Restating ways to reach me as needed!

Indiana Jones

Oh, that was right, he wasn't one of the guild's population, and to one unaware of the whole...messaging system, it would look pretty weird. Indiana didn't speak for a moment, but he did compose himself, slipping his clawed hands into the pockets of his traveling jacket, before finally responding to what Astra said. "The hunting party ran into a Silver Wolf, odds are they're currently getting mauled, handling it, or running for their lives. They sent me a message, that's what the funny actions were. Sorry."

Unless Astra remarked further on what he had said regarding the whole message system, Indy kept silent till the workshop was reached. He did, however, take in the sights prior, offering polite nods to those he passed. He had to admit, this place was already a lot livelier than he had expected, and with such a large workforce...anything was possible. That said, once at the workshop, he'd begun examining it, finding even a few things that he, as a lower level Artificer compared to the one that was currently missing, hadn't yet unlocked to work with. It excited him, shown by a few remarks under his breath that indicated intense joy, realizing just what they could do. Unfortunately, he didn't get much time, realizing Astra was leaving him behind. This prompted him to hurry after, a light grin on his dragonic face, thinking of all that they could do. Why, the thought of building a magical airship came to mind...they had the resources probably, it would just require figuring out how to put it all together. He hurried onto the elevator platform, feeling it creak just a tad under his weight, before it steadied. He looked around again, marveling at what he saw.

"I suppose I do have a fair number of questions. Regarding the ores, do you know if the prior Artificer had done any work with them? Could any be harnessed as a fuel source?" He was glad that as a dragonkin, he had better eyesight than say, a human based model. Still, he wished he'd brought along the goggles of night vision, or a potion for it. Note to self: Make more goggles, they'll come in handy later. "Also, do we have any gunpowder in storage? Or boom sticks I can remove the powder from? Need it for an idea." That was another idea that he felt in his mind, the thought of trying to make a rudimentary portable cannon. They were around the tech level already...factor in magic, then China having invented gunpowder long ago...Granted, he had no idea if Astra knew what he meant by gunpowder. So much to do, so much to see. "Also...any chance we know if there's not say, a giant rock monster or demon boss whose lair is being dug into?" That was another thing to worry about, a lot of magical ore...it could be possible a boss slept nearby, which concerned him more than what the crew on the surface with the wolf were in the middle of. They at least could run, or possibly get help. If a cave in happened...him and Astra and anyone else, short of a miracle or good timing, were finished. That made him shudder involuntarily...and made him think of Meg. Hopefully she was doing much better, right?

Margaret

Meg whistled to herself just a tad as she pocketed the second half of the payment for the completed item, waving good bye as she turned away from the actor's understudy who had been waiting, a spring in a step. The gold would be a good step closer to paying for more of Indy's various researches, and perhaps even enough to improve their living quarters. And if there was enough left over...she could send the extra cash home to her family, or even pay for transporting one of her sisters up to the city. Indiana wouldn't mind a second big sister, she was sure of it! Or perhaps a little sister...

Come to think of it, where was Indy? She checked, and well, he wasn't in the guild, based on what she'd seen. She pulled out the Sending Stone he'd given her incase they were a distance apart, and tested its locate function. After a few moments...she put it to her ear, and got...static. Checking the stone again showed that... "Out of range? What...I hope he's okay." She was worried, that wasn't normal. It only happened if he was near a boss, too far away, inside another guild base, or...deep underground. Hopefully it was fine. Meg thought about it for a long moment, and sighed to herself, the elf walking down the corridors, past the quest board for the guild, down another corridor, and into her quarters she shared with Indy. She'd at least do something while she waited for him to come back, and she'd try calling again in an hour. Hopefully he hadn't forgotten the stone somewhere, that was another possible issue. Sitting down on her own bed, she pulled out her harp, and began to practice with it quietly, occasionally having to retune the strings. It wasn't exciting but...it beat being worried, right?
@Rabidporcupine
That's understandable man, rest well!
@AThousandCurses
What's the elemental affinity you wanted to go for?
@OtomostheCrazy
Well, I'm quite glad I piqued your interest! Do you already have something in mind, or are you waiting to see what others post?
If you mean the CS part, Jerk wrote it actually, he helped me out a fair bit.

Its just: Do you have a notable skill for magic? And if so, what affinity?
@Slim Shady
Inquire as in? Do go on.
@AThousandCurses
Anyone in Rune Factory can use magic, its just a matter of whether they put the effort forward to train, or if they have magical reserves greater than the average person. So you want to do a doppleganger? Also, you should make an introduction post in the introduce yourself tab when you can.
@AThousandCurses@Slim Shady

Wonderful, really. Do either of you have ideas for what you might want to make character wise? Never hurts to have an actual idea before the IC goes up, y'know.

Josephine Lifebringer

Josephine's Room, 7:30 am.

"Mom, I'd talk more, but I have to go. Need to be early to class, you know how it is. Give dad a hug for me, alright?" After the customary chatter on the end, Josephine sighed softly, a smile gracing her lips. "Love you too Mom, I'll see you this weekend." And with that, she hung up, slipping the flip phone away on her person, somehow. Thirty minutes. She checked herself. Everything was accounted for. Perfect. Eyes flicked around her room, before grabbing the only thing she took to class, a leather bound binder type item, which contained a slot for papers, a notepad of paper that was eight inches by eleven, and of course, a pen. And like that, she was out the door, but not before grabbing a water bottle on the way. Feet hurried down the corridor, her short height making it easier to duck and weave around people, avoiding them with relative ease. But it wasn't five minutes later before she was inside the classroom, moving to the back, taking her seat in the corner furthermost from the front and exits. Call it edge or whatever, but she wanted to be alone for the moment. At least until others filtered in.

Once seated, she opened her bottle of water, and took a single sip, before closing it, wiping her lips with her sleeve, placing it down with a silent impact. She opened her binder, and pulled her pen out, hitting the end that pushed the tip out, beginning to sketch something on a free page of paper. Hopefully she wouldn't get interrupted. It wasn't until the teacher came in, that she glanced up, pausing her sketch. Seemed most of the others had filtered in already, making her smile under her breath. This would be interesting, one way or another...

Rune Factory: Tales from Frontier Village

Hello, and welcome to the official interest check for Tales from Frontier Village, a semi-sandbox roleplay set within the world of Rune Factory! I’m your host and GM, DocRock, and let’s get into things!

As far as I’m aware, this is the first proper attempt at a Rune Factory fandom tale, and honestly? That doesn’t surprise me due to its nicheness. However, dear reader, don’t fret, you don’t need to know anything about the series to join this tale. As we won’t be delving into some grand adventure of heroism and light vs. darkness, no, this tale will be much more down to earth, and grounded in realism. While there will be chances for heroics, the story won’t end with some great evil being vanquished, because frankly? That’s just not how the series works. Sure, you can save the world, but afterwards? It's back to daily life.

So without further ado, let’s introduce our setting, shall we?

Frontier Village: A stop on the Norad-Sechs Golden Road, that often acts as the last point before the Norad side of the border. Contains the basic qualities needed for a village, but doesn't stand out that much otherwise. Has a few dungeons nearby, and a few folks who ran out of money and couldn't keep traveling, so they settled in here. Or have their reasons for staying here. Even with the world at peace, this town’s status can make things...tense.

That’s pretty straight-forward, isn’t it? Either you’re a long or short term resident, or you’re just passing through on your way to the border, or deeper in. Plenty of room for mystery, fun, and adventure. Now I’ll admit, this isn’t the first RF themed narrative to deal with border towns(just look at Rune Factory 1 and 4), but I’ll be honest, that’s because it's something familiar to work with. Everyone has their secrets, their backstories, and that’s to be the point of the narrative. Sure, there will be larger GM planned and player participated backdrop stories, but this is a tale of village life. Further details, such as the first overarching storyline, will be on the actual roleplay post OOC.

Now I’m sure you’re wondering “what can I do as a character?” And well, just about anything is possible within the verse, and a link below leads to the World of Rune Factory Wiki, which does a decent job of explaining stuff regarding overall world details, if you absolutely want to dig into deeper stuff.

https://therunefactory.fandom.com/wiki/World_of_Rune_Factory

That said, here’s a quick list of the races you can be, with a blurb about them. Restricted/forbidden races will be noted, as well as the why. I know, why say anything is possible, but then restrict stuff? There’s a fair reason, I promise. I’ll probably come up with some custom races to fill out the usable races.

Double posting since it fits both areas.
Edit: Forgot the wiki link, this has been fixed.
