I have my own question. Are Light/Dark Apprentices limited to only wielding Light/Darkness? I only ask because I'm kind of interested in doing a Character that sort of blurs the line a bit, like a Light Apprentice with Dark abilities or vice versa?
Hmm... anyone know if Card is still here or not?
*Raises hand* Make that 7, now?

I'm willing to fall in on whichever side seems more shorthanded, though personally I'm hoping that will be Dark.
"Quark?" asked Thatch in response as he keyed something in on the ship's computer. On screen, a star chart was loaded up, showing them various dots, some labeled with names and others labeled as uncharted. He continued typing, doing so with a single hand while the other was kept firmly on the ship's controls. He keyed in the name Quark and the chart on screen zoomed in a bit on one of the dots, and showing a highlighted line that traced from the world to where he presumed was the ship's current coordinates, "Hmm, well it's a bit of a trip, according to this, and it says there's a WDS there as well, meaning there's a good chance we'll have to go incognito somehow. But it's our only real chance so I suppose we'll just have to cross that bridge when we get to it."

And that was about when Serene came back into the bridge, beginning to ask questions in rapid fire mode, "Alright, hang on. The ship's got a captain's log so we'll just see if it has any answers." he said as he keyed something else into the computer. At that command, the screen switched from a star chart to series of journal entries that were signed by the ship's previous captain, "Come on, old man. Don't let me down now." said Jared as he scrolled through the entries, "This one looks promising." he said before clicking one of the selections, allowing the entry to be viewed on screen by everyone in the room.

It was a pre-mission log, detailing the purpose of the ship and the assignment it was being used for. Like the old man said, it was an exploratory vessel, meant for the purpose of finding uncharted worlds and establishing contact with them. Along with the mission summary, the log explained some of the dangers the crew would likely face, namely the Heartless. Heartless, as the log explained, were creatures from some kind of parallel realm referred to as the "Other Side", that often emerged into this realm and fed on the darkness in people's hearts, preying on them and turning them into Heartless themselves. This knowledge was credited to a report written by someone called Ansem, who had apparently conducted thorough research on Heartless and the "Other Side" over a thousand years ago, even learning how to create his own "synthetic" Heartless marked by a Heart-shaped emblem they bore on their body somewhere. Just like that armored thing. So this Ansem guy created it? Weird. The entry went on to explain that all things, even the worlds themselves, had "hearts", and these hearts were like a doorway to the Other Side where Heartless came from. The heart of a world, as written in the report, is symbolized by a Keyhole hidden somewhere within it, one that only a weapon called a Keyblade could seal, effectively locking out the Heartless and preventing them from consuming the worlds. Keyblade...? Isn't what Dion called that thing I obtained?

"Well, I guess that answers some of our questions..." said Jared, closing the entry and reopening the star chart, "...but we have a slight problem. Quark is probably our best chance at rearming this ship. Problem is, it's a bit far way, and the ship's shields and engines are likely to run out of power before we get there. But don't worry, these things run on special energy cells that automatically recharge over time when the ship isn't in use. So if we just make a couple of pit stops along the way we can keep them good and charged. Here," he showed them the route to Quark, pointing out that a handful of other worlds were on the route toward it, "see these other dots? These are other worlds that we'll have to pass by on the way, so we should be safe to use them as pit stops to recharge the ship. Looks like we'll be arriving at the first one momentarily. It hasn't been charted yet, so we won't know what world it is until we actually arrive. Kind of exciting when you think about it, like opening a birthday present or something, you know?"
Posted. And I chose a different image for my CS. Hope this one actually works.
"Surely this is a mistake." said Tom under his breath when he finished watching the tape. He'd just received it barely fifteen minutes ago, when some guy in a trench coat just forced it in his hands, insisting that Tom had dropped it. He was obviously delivering a message, Tom had deduced that much on his own. But he had no idea just what the message entailed. An invite to the Justice League? The Justice League? Why would they want a washed up scholar like Tom? Surely the League still had access to more powerful magic users than him. Of course, there was that incident with Brainiac. An entire section of Metropolis was taken over by him, including many senior members of the League itself, "Then it's a rescue party of sorts. But again, why would they want me? I know nothing of this technological virus, I'm not even sure my magic would have any effect on it."

Still, he couldn't deny the temptation of such an invitation. It was the Justice League after all, known for it's seemingly limitless resources. Resources that he knew could prove very useful to him, "I suppose there's no harm in paying them a visit. It would be very rude to just ignore the message, after all." he said, having made his decision. Whether or not he could be of use to the League remained to be seen, but the fact of the matter was that they could certainly be of use to him, and that, Tom decided, was reason enough to hear them out. And so he donned the hooded cloak he'd adopted as his costume. It wasn't particularly fancy, mostly dark gray but it did have red accents, particularly at the hems, where old runic symbols were sown into the design, giving its wearer a bit of protection against opposing magics. He also put on the white ballroom mask before pulling up the hood, ensuring that his identity remain hidden from those who gazed upon him. Once he was suited up, took one of the spell tomes from his collection and, with a wave of his hand, opened a dimensional portal and stepped through it.

It took him nearly a half hour to reach the headquarters mentioned in the tape. Unfortunately, it was too far away to reach with a single portal, and so Tom had to use the technique of traveling as far as possible through one portal and then do so again until reaching the headquarters. It wasn't the fastest mode of transportation, but it would have taken longer to simply walk or drive, so he took whatever advantage he could get from his portal spell. Now standing in front of the building, Tom could tell it hadn't been used in a while. Likely it was either a previous League base or one that was used in emergencies. Still, it seemed pretty well defended. He entered, Tom following voices he could hear from another room and deciding to follow said voices. He then found himself in a conference room of sorts, other costumed heroes sitting about a round table in a fashion reminiscent of King Arthur's court. How appropriate, he thought to himself before clearing his throat, "I apologize for my tardiness. I wasn't sure the message I'd been given was legitimate or not, but I can see now that it was, indeed."
Trying to figure out how the League would go about contacting Tom since I imagine him as the antique collector type who doesn't really bother with computers unless necessary. Not unless they have some kind of magical communication to reach people like him (and given the nature of some of its past members, that wouldn't actually surprise me).

Also, been looking for some other pic to use since the one I have never seems to work for anyone but having zero luck.
Guys no one's posted in nearly a week. Talk. Interact. Something? This is downtime so you can't expect me to just immediately throw us into another world already. Nobody even knows each others' names so for pity's sake at least start with that. /rant

Sorry, sorry. I just don't want this thing to die before it can even truly get started, and if I forcibly move us along any more we'll just end up powering through the plot at a break-neck speed and that's no fun.
You saying that has me thinking that my own character is too fantasy and not enough superhero... He's a cultist wizard after all. <_<
So what happened to everyone? :P
