Name: Dr. Thomas Arturo

Alias: Warlock

Age: 38

Powers: Sorcery: portals, energy shields, and conjurations. Given the proper materials he can cast many other spells and rituals from other books as well, but those usually require time and preparation, hardly practical in the heat of battle.

Weaknesses: Magic is not unlimited. The bigger the spell, the greater the cost. Energy shields are only strong as his own stamina, once he has been exhausted, so too will his shields, resulting in them being broken. Conjurations can vary, and will drain magical stamina depending on the size and complexity of the object being summoned.

Personality: A quiet man, Tom keeps to himself more often than not, usually burying himself in work or research. Even so, he is hardly one to allow an evil act to go unpunished, and will indeed fight if he is provoked.

Appearance:

BRIEF Bio: Thomas Arturo was born in Rockwell, Arizona. During and after High School, Tom worked as a librarian to put himself through College, where he earned a PhD in Mythology/Folklore, even later deciding to teach the subject himself as a Professor. During his college years, Tom joined a fraternity made up of other Mythology majors, led by the then Professor of Mythological Studies, Henry Caine. Over the years, Tom came to the learn that Caine and his inner circle of students were actually part of obscure cult called the Keepers of the Forbidden Lore, devoted to searching for and protecting the most dangerous magical secrets in the name of an entity named Vecna, the Lord of Secrets. Each member of the cult is identified by a mark on their right palm in the shape of eye, the symbol of Vecna. Tom was inducted into this circle himself and, in its service, learned to use magic and rituals of various kinds. The Keepers were not the only cult devoted to Vecna, however, as one day the group was attacked and massacred by dark sorcerers calling themselves the Spawn of Vecna, claiming to be his children and divine inheritors of all knowledge. Tom was the only survivor, managing to save a handful of the books and scrolls the Keepers guarded and going into hiding. He moved to Metropolis, hoping the larger city would conceal him from those who would no-doubt come looking for him should they learn of his survival. Of course, that hasn't stopped him from occasionally using the sorcery he's learned to defend the innocent under the moniker of Warlock.
...Sure, why not.
Posted. Nothing plot-moving, so the down time is still going on. Instead I have thrown in a little something extra to get the characters thinking. The ship has no weapons currently which means they're screwed if they engage in any space battles. This idea is, surprisingly enough, NOT something borrowed from Ren and instead came from an experience I had while recently replaying KH1, where I used one of the blue prints only to find out that for whatever reason it didn't come with any pre-equipped weapons, meaning I had to complete the flying section without being able to shoot. It was pretty cool so I decided to use that scenario here.

The Enterprise
Being the only one who knew much about this ship, Jared found himself in the captain's seat, where the main controls could be accessed. For a while he stayed quiet, choosing instead to concentrate on flying rather than be reminded of the fate that had befallen the group. He especially didn't want to think about what the old man meant when he said he would buy them time, and what that would imply about his fate. Dion was tough as nails, Jared knew that much, but those Judges were like a whole other level. He quickly tried to erase those thoughts from mind. He would see the old man again one day, he was sure of it. So instead he thought about the ship he had apparently just inherited, and remembered something vital about it.

"Guys," he said, probably sounding like he was changing the subject, "the good news is, this ship's armor is still fully functional. She won't be shot down any time soon." of course, because he began that sentence with "the good news is..." obviously meant he had to follow up with some bad news, "Unfortunately, she was also decommissioned some time ago, which means her weapon payload has long since been removed. That means if any ship engages us we won't be able to shoot back. It'll be dangerous, but we need to find another Gummi Ship port and soon if we want any chance of defending ourselves while out in space."

"Plus," he began, adding another thought to the discussion, "we won't get anywhere by just aimlessly wandering. We need some kind of plan, and I say we do what the old man suggested and find the ones who are truly responsible for what happened. That all being said, does anyone have any ideas for where to start?"
Ship has a holo-deck so, yes. Yes it is. More or less.
Posted. Sorry if it seems rushed I was just eager to go ahead and get us on the Gummi Ship and to reveal our roles in the plot and the meaning of the Prologue's title (Enemies of the Light).

Anyway, I'll be waiting a bit before moving us to our first official world. Until then, consider the time spent on the ship as down time for conversations and discussing the situation the party now finds itself in.
Without much chance to speak or argue, Jared was roughly dragged into a sprint by Dion. The old man also seemed to wish for the others to follow but... why? He obviously needed to get them to safety, sure, but Jared could see it in the man's expression. He had other motives for bringing the others along, but what were they?

After a few moments of running, and cutting their way through Heartless stragglers, the group found themselves in an old hanger, not used in many years. Jared recognized it as home, where he and the old man lived. Once inside, he looked quizzically at the older man, "Hold on, what's this about? We could have helped back there!" he said, only now protesting to being brought back home and out of the action, "Those Judges need to know that this..." the key-weapon appeared in his hand, "...is the strongest weapon to use against it!" the sight of the weapon garnered a pause of surprise from the old man.

"...Keyblade?" he asked, staring at the weapon in awe, "Could it really be...?" he then shook his head and got back to the point, "Never mind that, for now ye lot need to get off this world, and I mean now." without waiting for any response or argument he walked to a door, one that led into the main bay of the hanger, "I don't know how. And I don't know why, but those Judges are convinced that ye all are to blame for what happened. Even showed me images of ye sneaking right into the control center." as he said this he was undoing a series of locks on the door. Whatever was behind it was surely valuable to him for it to have such security measures, "But I know you're innocent. Ye must be. The lad," he said, referring to Jared, "doesn't know a thing about computers, much less how to hack them or sabotage them. So you all must leave before the Judges finish off that brute outside, because ye will be next on their list."

Jared was stunned, "But how?" was all he could say.

"You're only hope to find the ones responsible. I wasn't sure how you could do it... but then you showed me that Keyblade. Lad, that weapon is the stuff of legends. Saved all the worlds from those creatures outside, it did. But that were a long time ago, before our time, before even the Judges," he paused, as if unsure how much he should say, "but now's the time. Take the Enterprise, boy. I know you've always wanted to, and now she's yours. Use her to get off Lunaris and hunt down the bastards who are truly responsible for all this."

The name he spoke, the Enterprise, was a ship's name. An old exploratory gummi ship from an age ago. It was built for long distance travel, and for accommodating her crew during long trips. Jared knew this from the stories he'd been told, that Dion had once been the captain of it once upon a time. He stood in stunned silence as Dion pushed open the door, showing the group a sizable vessel, an older gummi ship but a reliable one, and one that could just as easily be a home away from home for the crew. Its hatch was already opened, and Dion gestured for everyone to board it, "I'll be staying behind. Got to buy ye as much time as ye need to escape." before he left, he tossed his spear to Jared, "Here, just because ye have that Keyblade, it doesn't make ye invincible. A backup weapon is never a bad idea." And with that he left, leaving the group to take the ship.

Minutes later, the ship known as the Enterprise blasted off from Lunaris. An unauthorized launch, to be sure. And now its crew would be known across the worlds as the outlaws who sabotaged Lunaris' WDS system. As Enemies of the Light.
Still looks good to me.
Pretty much, yes.
When you make up a Shotlock, you'll decide what the Command Meld is for it and will need to know the two Abilities beforehand.

Sezir, Command Melding was a mechanic used in Birth by Sleep for learning and leveling up Abilities. It involves combining two Abilities you already know to create a new one more or less. Shotlocks were often techniques that were learned by this method. For example, Meteor Shower was potentially learned by melding Thunder with either Fire or the Blitz attack. Most Shotlocks have various recipes for learning them. In the RP, Shotlocks will be learned as Major Abilities, but to be able to learn them you must have already learned enough abilities for at least one of the Command Meld recipes. In the case of Meteor Shower, that would mean you'd have to at least learn the Thunder spell and, say, the Fire spell before being eligible to learn Meteor Shower later on.
