Also, this is Joshua doing his job. Priority one is to protect Amaya. Priority two is to make sure she is happy. Priority three is beat the shit out of anyone who tries to hurt her.
Everything else is pretty much not worth Joshua's time when he's on the job.
And he's being a dick about it. Not berating you or anything, just making the observation.
Calling it now: Mach and Joshua are gonna HATE each other.
A its name suggests, this Keyblade can (on very rare occasions) cast the infamous Doom spell upon a target it strikes. It offers no enhancements to strength, but along with physical damage it can also "damage" a target's magical energy (MP) and siphon a portion of it back to the wielder.
Its slim blade allows for quicker, more precise strikes that can even pierce the enemy's guard. In exchange for this, the slimmer blade is poorer at parrying and deflecting than most others.
Heart type: Valorous
Spells: Haste, Protect, Reflect
Bio: The Keyblade War is often spoken of as a great calamity, but that alone is an inadequate portrayal of just how horrible it was. Cyrus Grimm is one of a few who can truly testify to the horrors of the Keyblade War. Originally born in Radiant Garden, Cyrus first summoned a Keyblade at the tender age of 14. A young boy becoming a Wielder of the Keyblade may seem innocent enough at first glance, but then one realizes that it happened during the height of what would become known as the most calamitous war in history. Only then is the reality of Cyrus's life truly understood.
He was almost immediately drawn into the conflict. Various players in the war would always be on the lookout for fresh Keyblade Wielders they could manipulate for their own agenda, which was always to obtain the forbidden X-blade. Cyrus was no exception, and soon found himself with only one terrible choice: fight... or die. The choice was obvious, and Cyrus became one of many child soldiers participating in the conflict. Among other young Wielders, there was another who also hailed from Radiant Garden, a boy named Ren. Fighting under the same faction, Cyrus and Ren became fast friends.
But war has an unfortunate tendency to destroy families and friendships. While Ren increasingly detested the violence and soon just wanted to make it end, Cyrus began to see it as a necessary evil. By then the two had been fighting in the war for a few years, and Cyrus was definitely being changed by the experience. Where before he fought simply for his own survival, some time after his first official kill, he began to fight with increasing callous toward his enemies. Such was his coldness that others in the conflict began to call him by a different name, one reflective of the scythe-like nature of his Keyblade: The Grimm Reaper.
Cyrus, like Ren, wanted to put an end to the chaos. But that was where similarities between the two became skewed. Ren wanted to end the war through peace, but Cyrus believed that only the X-blade had the power to end the suffering. As such, the two drifted apart and a battle between the two became an inevitability. Fight they did, their battle even becoming a famous affair after the fact, and the battle ended with Cyrus killing the man he once called his best friend. Cyrus, though hardened by the war, was not so cruel as to not show respect to his former friend as he held the dying Ren in his arms. As it turned out, Cyrus's victory was due to Ren's unwillingness to fight, him even actively pulling his punches and essentially allowing his friend to kill him if that meant an ending to the war.
In his last moments, Ren said these dying words to his former friend, "Even as my enemy, there is none with whom I would more gladly entrust my heart. Take it, my blade, and use them to finally put an end to this bloody conflict." Thus Cyrus, after killing Ren, took upon him his friend's heart and, with it, inherited Ren's Keyblade, which he henceforth named Trusted Heart. Throughout the war, Cyrus had become well-known for wearing a dark cloak, especially after he became known as the Grimm Reaper, but he discarded that name and that persona after Ren's death. Instead he began to wear the attire of his fallen friend, a set of red armor along with a long, crimson scarf.
In honor of his fallen friend, Cyrus took it upon himself to carry on Ren's goal of ending the war and restoring peace. This goal has brought him to Twilight Town, a world that thus far managed to remain completely untouched by the violence of the Keyblade War.
"Oh, we're tourists, can't you tell?" replied Mach with snide tone. By now, the cool down was finished and he could move again. As such, he used his newly recovered mobility to walk up to the newcomers, answering their questions in the oh-so-charming way that only he could, "We heard Confederate America is just the loveliest little vacation spot this time of year and came for some R-and-R." at that point he removed his helmet and dropped it on the ground. As useful as it was, there were times when he wanted to just breathe the air. After that he dropped the sarcasm and started responding with as much hostility that Joshua was showing. Hey, if the guy was gonna be an asshole, he'd better be able to reap what he sowed.
"First off, I have no fucking idea how you got here, or why. Secondly, no, we're not the ones who fucking brought you here so quit screaming at us as if we were." he looked Joshua dead in the eyes, not afraid whatsoever of the guy, "See? I can swear just as easly as you, pal. But seeing as how swearing like a sailor isn't gonna help anything, I'll just say this instead. Those two jerks were just that, jerks, trying to help their even bigger jerk of a boss become a God or some such ridiculous thing like that. We're basically the good guys trying to stop that from happening because, you know, we'd like the universe to stay intact and all. We're just looking for some Princesses with special powers to help us stop them. Translation? That means you better buckle up, Dorothy, cause Kansas is going bye-bye."
Well, I suppose my question is aimed more at Trade Evolutions. I don't know exactly what kind of team I'll end up using here, but I'd rather avoid using metagame methods for obtaining a Pokemon like, say, Gengar or Kingdra.
Abrupt? Maybe a little, then again the plot is basically starting to thicken so it's not unreasonable. Anticlimactic? That's more a subjective thing. For example, I might think it wasn't, but someone else might think that it was.
So, in regards to evolution, will our Pokemon's evolutions be more a naturally occurring thing like in the anime, or are we following the games' rules? Was just wondering if I'd need to invest in a Razor Fang later, XD
"Sounds great." replied Trey. By that point Glider had left its perch on his shoulder and was now on the ground, in the mood for stretching his legs a bit, "Glider and I were gonna head there ourselves later, anyway. Right buddy?" the Gligar looked up at his trainer and gave a happy nod of agreement. The girl who approached earlier, Lily, mentioned training. As she released her own Pokemon, a Ralts she called Ruby, Trey gave a small shrug and could only offer one answer to her question.
"Best way to train is to have yourself a good sparring partner. You could always have a go against one of us. Heck, Glider and me make a point to never turn down a challenge."
At around this point, a trainer silently passed them by, who also seemed to have a Ralts since he had one sitting atop his head. He didn't say anything though, so Trey decided not to be pushy and respectfully let the trainer pass without interruption. But there was another one shortly after that. In fact the only reason Trey could even tell he was a Trainer at all was because he spotted an Eevee peeking out at the group from the trainer's backpack. But the sight of that particular Eevee was pretty cool, seeing as how it was silver, a rare color for that species. Meant it was probably rare, and whoever that Trainer was they were super lucky to have found one.
"Whoa..." Trey said in a lowered voice when the trainer had gone, "...did you guys see that Eevee? I've heard of them being silver before, but that was the first time I've ever actually seen a silver one. So cool." he felt small kick at his shin, and he looked down at to see Glider giving him a jealous look, "Well, not as awesome as you, buddy. Never." the Gilgar then happily jumped back up on Trey's shoulder.
I don't think I really specified where Mach ended up after his stunt, but given the small crater he made and the dust he kicked up it's not likely he landed nearby anyone.
