Titans of Gotham [Spots Available!]

For a while I thought I was on to something with the wet thing, but I was wrong about even that. The whole "being wet makes them too heavy to fly properly" is more of an insect thing, since their wings are essentially thin pieces of exoskeletons and much more fragile due to insects being smaller creatures overall. Somehow I transplanted that vulnerability onto bird wings. In essence, Zero was kind of useless overall this time around. Oh well, it happens.

How would he not have heard about what's happening? This shit's bound to be all over the news, since it's a global invasion by alien robots and all. I'm sure he's capable of sneaking into the city just fine, the issue is I can't really think of any good motivation for it. As for Sir William, well, yes I'm sure he'll sense the demon and vice versa when they are in proximity, but I don't really see Alastor wanting to investigate him. He'd be more likely to want Shay to turn around and get the hell out of Dodge, preferring to avoid the problem altogether instead of facing it or solving it head on. Now Shay might be curious about the source of the divine powers, but curious enough to risk exposure or attracting unwanted attention? Hmm, that would be a tough call.

At this point I almost may as well have him mistake Maxus for Brainiac/Superman and rush in expecting the League to be under attack.

As far as the cold? Dozens of owls and birds function without problem in arctic temperatures and still manage to hunt 7-12 mice per day no matter the circumstances. These birds are bigger than 'Squatcho with the same large amounts of feathers covering their bodies as any owl would have.

@The Kid Lantern Let me start by saying this: I'm a Dungeons and Dragons player at heart. That being said, I've always approached these RPs with that kind of mindset in my head. Sure, I can make my character do things, but like in D&D, it's up to the Dungeon Master (Game Master in this case) to determine the actual outcomes of my characters' shenanigans, generally by pointing the kind of damage an attack has on enemies so I know how to act or react. Obviously, yours is a "do it yourself" kind of mindset, wherein you essentially entrust us to take care of things for ourselves unless it's a huge thing. That's fine, and I did do that in the instances where Zero was facing a single opponent (Mister Freeze, the one Owl he managed to kill on his own, etc) but, frankly, the magnitude of his sprinkler gambit is one that could potentially affect ALL the owls and, well, I felt like something of that scale should have fallen within your authority to decide how it turns out, since it could have potentially ended the fight right there on the spot.

@The Kid Lantern Erm... I can't really think of any real reason for him to sneak into the city. ...Or the camp for that matter. Guess I was banking on some kind of attack happening that he could get himself involved in, but my timing for being in the area is proving to be quite terrible. xD

@Weird Tales That was kind of my thing as well. Gym is wet, sure, but the owls had no response to the condition Zero put them in. Oh well, I've posted my response and in the interest of it leading to a character arc I don't mind leaving things as is on my end.

So our attacks basically did nothing? Feels awesome being totally useless. And yay, saved by the League... again. I'm starting to sense a pattern here. Team gets wrecked, can't do a damn thing for itself so the League sends someone to yank our asses out of the fire.

Unfortunately, Zero wouldn't get the chance to actually cover his ears, or hear Wildcat's orders for that matter. When his attack seemed to do nothing at all, he finally dropped. All that exertion on top of the blood he lost was not a good combination. Frankly, by the time Wildcat showed up he was ready to drop at any moment. It was adrenaline and a miracle that kept him going up til that point. But all that seemed to dissolve away when he saw the gambit he'd risked his life for be of absolutely no help. It was amazing how quickly one's determination could fade away in the face of such demoralizing failure.

"Can't keep... up... useless......." the last couple of words he rasped out wasn't even a complete sentence. And now, there he was, slumped over over on the water covered floor and without any consciousness. And with his going down, all his icy handy work broke and dissolved away as well. Not that that actually mattered, since the damn birds weren't so much as slowed down even by being soaking wet in sub-arctic temperature. How was that even possible? Only penguins and polar bears were supposed to be able to survive that kind of environment, but these dumb owls just shrugged it off like nothing? Apparently owls were tougher creatures than Zero gave them credit for, and now he was paying for that mistake. Oh well, better luck next time, if he even survived this time that is.

So did Zero's attack do anything? It's hard to tell.

1. He's not really a metahuman.
2. No, he's not actually there on behalf of the League, or anyone for that matter.
3. Lying about any of that isn't really characteristic of him.
4. Not even the Demon would bother lying since he was against going there in the first place.
