Hello!

I'm Pollen, hope you're not allergic. I like writing a myriad of characters in all kinds of genres, so I'm pretty much down for anything roleplay-wise.

Come talk with me if you want! I'm friendly.

This still accepting? *peeks around...*

Yup! We had a bunch of declarations of interest, but one of them (Vile) hasn't confirmed it or submitted a character, even when I Mentioned him. So if you can get a character up within the next couple days, I'll give you a spot!
@Drifting Pollen Oh whoops I forgot to send you a fighter did I

Well since everyone's posting theirs, I'll post mine here too. Probably the lowest power fighter I've ever made.

Well, you got him submitted now! :)

There's some things I'd like clarifying, however, as well as somethings you need to tone down:

- First and foremost, 'Unkillable' is only a way to remove him from battle (thus forfeiting) so you can use him again in the future, right? This would probably seem obvious, but I once fought someone with a similar ability who literally used it to revive their character mid-battle and keep fighting... so I would like confirmation that this will not be abused in such a manner.

- Secondly, the rings. You mentioned they charge before activating, would this work similarly to prepping a spell? Would the charging of the rings be perceptible to an observer in any way?

- Thirdly, the ring of Frost 'instantly' freezes anything within its reach. Maybe it's just the wording, but wouldn't this make the attack virtually impossible to avoid? There's no way for a fighter to know how far the cone extends (unless they've seen it before), and if the freezing is instant it would be impossible to get out of... perhaps the cone could expand outwards from the ring, and/or take some time to freeze what falls within the cone.

- Lastly, the Titan ability is fine in concept... but 'several hundred sledgehammers at once' is waaaaaaaaaay too much strength. You've already given him enhanced physical abilities with Superhuman King, so I'd recommend either removing Titan entirely or toning it down to something like Shen's Qi enhancement (which adds up to around one sledgehammer of extra force per blow, and costs him stamina at that).

Hope this isn't too much trouble... but yeah, would like to get this stuff sorted out before approving. Thank you!
@Drifting Pollen I'm fine with the Eon form being locked for the duration of the tournament. Do tell me if you reconsider them, though.

As for the Selenic form, I'm guessing you're not fine with it becoming completely invisible? I was thinking the hilt could be seen, so an enemy would know where the blade is pointing, however they wouldn't be able to estimate the weapon's length until after the initial strike.

Okay, good to know. I'll let you know if I make any alterations or anything to power levels, although I do prefer to keep things stable.

The Selenic form was less overtly powerful, but I was worried about its invisibility being used to set up impossible-to-dodge strikes. The hilt being visible would make such attacks less easy for her, which is definitely enough.

Thanks for working with me on this. With the restrictions you specified, Iolanthe is approved, I'll add her to the list now!

That gives us 6 fighters registered so far, so we'd only need a couple more for a good number to start. @Vile @DJAtomika you two still interested?
After looking over a few times, I hope her weapon, Hyperion, isn't too strong for this combat tier.
I counted it's usage in as one of her 3 magical powers, whilst the 3rd practically isn't magical.

Anyways, here's the character I'd like to enter with!

Interesting character! Power-wise, most of her unique abilities are more enhancements, which fits in well. However, as you suspected, Hyperion could be a problem. Its regular abilities (toughness, brightness/heat and cold/invisibility) are fair enough, given that they only apply to the spear. A couple questions, however.

- When you say the spear becomes invisible at night, do you mean transparent, or completely impossible to see? Would any distortion be noticeable to sharp eyes, if the weapon were being moved quickly?

- The spear's Eon forms (the dawn/dusk ones) are probably too powerful for this tournament. Would you be alright with forgoing these for now (we could just have none of her fights take place at dawn/dusk)?

The Eon forms are the main issue, really. I may need a bit of time to consider, but I think if we can figure out a way to work around those, I can put her on the list :)

I'd say it's something like having an extra 11-12 pound weight attached when Qi is infused, only Shen doesn't actually feel said weight and, um, it's just extra force.....

So, imagine 11-12 lb weights on Shen's staff and limbs when he infuses Qi. That's the best way I can describe it, because damn words fail me.

Thanks for the clarification :) Shen is approved.

Seems mostly good! Before I approve it though, I'd just like to get some clarification: when he infuses his staff or limbs with Qi, to what extent is the force of the blow increased? Doesn't necessarily need to be exact, and it can vary depending on how long it's prepped, but it'd be nice to have an estimate or average to go on.

An underdog would like to reserve that 8th spot.

This is a perfect opportunity for me to claim a few ranked cookie points.

If you'll have me.

We'll have you! Putting you up on the list now, hope to see your character soon.
@Drifting Pollen

If canon characters are allowed I'll enter with Tifa Lockhart of Final Fantasy VII.

Canon characters in an original RP... I'm afraid I'll have to disallow that. That sort of thing never ends well, from what I've seen. Besides which, what I know of Tifa's abilities puts her well above the power tiers intended for this tournament.

You're welcome to enter with a character similar to Tifa, or somewhat based on her, so long as you had a full character sheet.

Are you interested in any thoughts or concerns participants have on submitted character sheets or would you rather leave it as your judgements being final? I'm asking because I've typed out some other fairly significant issues I've noticed on a cursory observation, but I don't want to provide unwelcome advice.

Thoughts are definitely welcome! Like I said, I'm aware I still have much to learn here. However, I would prefer that you PM me about any issues you've noticed rather than posting them here. While I do want to keep things as fair as possible, I'd rather not clog up the OOC with quibbles over details.

Can you define the restrictions as far as power levels go for this tournament?

The "The Contestants" section in the opening post lays things out pretty clearly, I think. If you're still confused after seeing that, this post (http://www.roleplayerguild.com/posts/3277092) will hopefully clear things up a little.
Was not aware of that... on the other hand, nobody seems to be using poison so far (indeed, it's something I hardly ever see in fights), and even if they were, it would be possible to remove or destroy the brace. It could be a problem if someone came in with a character who made heavy use of, say, paralytic darts... In the unlikely event that this happens, we may need to bring it up again, but I think it's safe to let it slide for now.
@Doc Doctor Thanks for clarifying! It seems that the bit I was concerned about is more of a general physiological enhancement than anything else, which is allowed... so long as it doesn't let him make weapons out of his blood or anything really unexpected, it should be just fine.

Also, nice catch there from ShidenBlades! If it's an internal immunity then there's no problem, IIRC Sigurd had something similar.
