So... If it's shonen action, how ridiculous are we allowed to get with it? As in, um... How over-the-top are we allowed? I mean I know it's not going to be DBZ-levels (at least not from the get-go), but will I eventually (as in, nearing the end game) be able to punt someone into the sun just because that would be amazing? >.> <.<...I am being a bit silly here. But I love the craziness inherent in shonen action manga, so I just want to know if we're allowed to go all out and eventually end up with something completely ludicrious in scale.

Well, as one if the original writers, I'll give you an idea of the original endgame:

The main characters each led a small militia force protecting a city from an army of villains. Each hero pushed into the enemy advance using their specific powers, and had to battle one-on-one with a superpowered alcolye(think a enemy general). After hurting them, they were teleported to the main enemy citadel for a huge final battle where things exploded, things fell from the sky and all sorts of cool stuff.

Also my character had a cool battle in a church once. I suppose in terms of craziness it was more akin to Advent Children levels than DBZ planet destroying levels.

I'll let Gowi field the majority of the questions here, but I'll put in my own stuff too: there is an overarching plot (group of bad guys, fairly evil, causing lots of problems) but for the most part the adventure will be left to the discretion of the roleplayers. Also I should mention that while the action, magic, and over-the-top nature of things is rooted in the world of shonen action stuff, there's a lot of characterization and emotional involvement beyond the simple: MUST FIGHT THE NEXT BAD GUY mentality of a lot of stories.

As far as a swamp dwelling witch/magic user; well good news! The major arc of the early story takes place in a huge region of swamps! That fits perfectly. Also I think witches are a-okay for the setting, but Gowi gets final say.
