We didn’t say that was the best solution... Only the easiest. Considering that mahz considers it a non-issue, the point is slightly moot.

We see two effects possible and probable of such deletion... Either everywhere else is plagued by that crowd, or a good portion of them disappear from the guild. Neither of them benefit the guild, really. Some might say that the loss wouldn't be bad, but we believe Mahz would not agree with that sentiment.

If anything, the other two solutions (even we don't consider #4 a solution) would be far better for the minor inconvenience this issue presents.

Easiest solution to that? Delete the spam section.

Second easiest? Put a restriction on smiley count per post, say 20-30.

More challenging solution? Restrict post lengths in sections like spam.

Bad solution? Make it take extra DB space so you'll notice it better.

That can be blamed on Advanced still recovering from the participant-loss from guildfall and the past year. Given the right setting, mindset and RP, we could probably easily reach that limit, mahz.

With fewer advanced players, it simply takes longer between each such IC post appearing.

Agreed on the sufficiently different from others bit, Shienvien. And as joke things go, we'd say one or two max, depending on the total number available. There should also be a limit on the total number of ratings. Preferably something in the single-digit region.

@Mahz: Is it by design that the @Mention buttons remove any non-character space between the position the code appears and any characters, including new lines?

RP Tag Requests

Well, @UltikanaRe, if you look at the popup text on the "Historical tag", it says "Events of the past or an alternate one", so we'd say alternate history is covered.

Some form of tags for marking whether an RP is utterly original, inspired by something or a full-on fandom would also be useful, @Sage.
A bit of a discussion on what each of them should be is something we think would be very helpful. As would comments on the tags currently listed as suggestions in the OP.
We cleaned up that list a bit now.

We think it would be fun to have a "here, have a goblin!" button. Fairly nonsensical, but surely someone will find uses for it.

ugh. White background. The only ones who truly prefer that are the ones who don't know exactly how much sharper a white background with backlight is upon the eyes than a dark one...
