Awesome! I'll fix the formatting when I get home from work, but thanks! EDIT: Actually, I'll do it now. Thanks again!
Name: Mako Moritomi Gender: Male Age: 17 Appearance: Somewhat short, slim, wiry, but with good muscle tone for someone his size. Shaggy dark brown hair, shoulder length, tied back in a messy ponytail. Wears glasses over blue eyes. Angular features, has a faint tired look to his eyes on occasion. Despite everything else on him being somewhat disordered, always wears his uniform immaculately. Sometimes seen with his hands wrapped, as though for sparring, for no immediately apparent reason. Arcana: Moon Personality: A man of extremes- has an unusual tendency to swing quickly from calm and erudite to loud and bombastic, favoring the latter, though he always seems to be happy for some reason. He has an unquenchable thirst for life- he loves seeking out new experiences and new ways to entertain himself as the days go along. He throws himself into life with an unmatched passion, though he's no fool- he never takes any unnecessary risks, if he can help it. In short, on the surface he seems to be ruled by his passions in many ways, but by paying attention, one can notice a keen intellect lurking beneath the surface. Equipment/Skills: Skilled martial artist, keen strategist, though the latter trait is sometimes undercut by Mako's commitment to spectacle. Quick and light on his feet, agile. Generally keeps sports tape/handwraps on hand, "just in case." Background: Information on Mako's history is rather sparse for as long as he's lived in Warakuma. All anyone knows for sure is that one day Mako and his father arrived in Warakuma, with barely anything to their names except what fit into their car. Mako turned out to be only slightly more forthcoming than his father, saying the two of them left Tokyo after his parents split up. Being the small town that it was, rumors abounded regarding the mysterious origins of the man and his son, though nothing was ever confirmed in any concrete manner. Eventually, as the pair of outsiders settled in, the rumors died away, and the two were gradually accepted as simply another landmark of Warakuma. Nowadays, most of the talk concerning the Moritomis falls on Mako's somewhat lamentable reputation as somewhat of a prankster. Though the ghost of a question will always remain, about just how the duo came to be in their sleepy little town, of all places... Persona: Logia Appearance: A long, white-and-gold dragon, almost mechanical-looking in nature. It shines with an unnatural luster. Abilities: Hama- Light: Slight chance of instant kill, 1 enemy. Dia- Slightly restores 1 ally's HP. Double Fangs- Deals light Phys damage to 1 foe 2x. Resistant to Light Weak to Electricity
First IC post for me! WOO-HOO!
Gavin Ashcroft Gavin would be cursing his luck if he hadn't known how fortunate he'd truly been in the last few years. Released from the hell that had been Curdun Cay, moving to New York City, getting a fairly rewarding job- he even might have an opportunity to go to school in the fall. He definitely didn't have any right to complain about any facet of his situation, to most. There were many that would give quite a bit to be in his situation, in fact. And yet, he was still cursing the fact that a perfect opportunity had come and gone before he'd quite known what was happening. A Rogue Conduit, right in downtown... and he'd missed it. His fingers twitched as he had a sudden and violent urge to Greek Fire something into splinters to let off some frustration. But such a thing would have been counter-intuitive to the image he was trying to construct, so he reined in the impulse. For now. If he was truly being honest, it wasn't even that he was trying to be the hero he'd envisioned while wasting away in the Cay, though that was definitely part of the frustration. It was that he was so Hades-damned bored. It made him sick to consider, but he almost missed some parts of the Cay, at this point. Not the experiments and the needles and shit- he still twitched whenever he passed by the hospital on his way to work. But the training? He almost missed that stimulation- the strategy, the intensity, the seemingly life-or-death scenarios- he was still uncomfortable pondering what, exactly, Augustine had been training them to do, but after seven years of near-constant adrenaline and battle, real life almost seemed... hollow. Gavin shook his head, trying unsuccessfully to dislodge such traitorous thoughts from his head. If he was being completely honest, compared to his fantasies while sitting around in his cell, real life was almost unbearably boring. And even when something did happen, there would be no guarantees that he'd be close enough to do something to aid the situation. With a deep sigh, Gavin crossed the street, possibly headed toward his apartment to try and sleep off his excitement, or, more likely, to his secret place to blow off more steam. And to destroy a few more heavy bags, potentially. Maybe next time he'd be able to do something about whatever Rogue suddenly developed a superiority complex...
Name: Gavin Ashcroft Age: 26 Gender: Male Appearance: Tall, slim build, somewhat-shaggy black hair, sharp, foxy featured face, neatly trimmed goatee. Used to dress rather shabby, but has made a concerted effort to dress more appropriate to his new-found identity as a respectable Hero. Often wears a battered dark-red fedora he got from... somewhere. Side: Formerly Infamous, attempting to go Hero Personality: Gavin's most distinctive feature is his hotheadedness. For much of his life, Gavin was severely lacking in self-control, prone to violent mood-swings or outbursts. This only got worse after The Beast destroyed Empire City, and Gavin began severely resenting the "Mortals" who blamed Conduits such as him for the disaster. After his stint in Curdun Cay, however, Gavin has resolved to better himself in order to atone for his actions during the disaster. He still is prone to losing his cool, though he's much quicker to catch and contain his anger, though he's not always successful. But points for effort, at least. Biography: Gavin was a simple delinquent living on the streets of Empire City before The Beast showed up and blew the entire city to pieces. He wasn't anticipating waking up in the wake of such a nightmare, much less with the powers he now wielded. At first, he sought only to survive the horrors of what came in The Beast's wake, but as he saw more atrocities committed against him and his fellow Conduits- as he watched innocent people killed for something they had no control over, just so the Mortals could have their precious little scapegoats- he flipped. He lashed out at those who tried to hurt him, as well as those like him. He began to gather the people he saved, an army against the panicked mobs of Mortals, a rising tide against their ignorance. Why should they bow to the whims of mundane humans when they held the very powers of the Gods in their hands? It was then that Gavin decided- if the rest of the world would not accept them, then they would cower before them. Thankfully for both Gavin and the rest of the world, it was not meant to be- the RFI being fired, the military reclaiming Empire City's ashes, the formation of the DUP- all these events conspired to end Gavin's reign of terror after it had just barely begun. Losing a significant portion of his followers to the RFI pulse, and the rest to the DUP, Gavin surrendered to their custody. For seven long years, Gavin wasted away within Curdun Cay, subject to the horrible ambitions of Brooke Augustine. For seven long years, Gavin pondered his place in the world, and looked on with regret at the atrocities he had committed, as well as the ones he planned to commit. And for seven long years, Gavin prayed- to whatever god he cared to name, whichever one he believed might listen- that he might have a chance to redeem himself of his sins. And then it happened. Delsin Rowe brought down Augustine's empire, exposed her lies and corruptions, and paved the way for Gavin and all of his fellow inmates to be released. And so, Gavin Ashcroft has his second chance. Only time will tell if he can truly do it justice. Power: Napalm- Creation, manipulation, and control of a flammable tar-like substance Di Immortale- Gavin is immune to heat and flame, and can absorb flaming or burning substances to regenerate his injuries. Hand of Hades- Gavin can produce tentacles of molten "Napalm" to ensnare and assault his opposition. Said tentacles can be detonated, either remotely by Gavin, or by outside stimuli (such as fireballs, electric blasts, or even powerful gunfire). Gavin can also use these "Hands" as a traversal method, lashing and swinging his way between buildings and other parts of the environment. Greek Fire- Gavin produces burning Napalm globules that stick to enemies and continuously burns them, and can also be remotely detonated as explosives. Scylla Ballistae- Launches semi-autonomous Napalm constructs shaped like snakes that seek out the opposition and explodes on them, covering the affected area with even more burning Napalm. Said constructs also move faster over already-existing Napalm pools and flows. Stygian Form- Gavin transforms into a liquid form, rendering him immune to most offensive actions and allowing him to flow through tight spaces or even up walls with some concentrated effort. Across the Styx- Gavin can transport himself between any pool of Napalm he's created. Phlegethon- Gavin's ultimate ability blankets an area in Napalm, granting him awareness of anything the Napalm covers, or of anyone walking over it. He can also manipulate the tar field to attack anyone within range of his "divination." Other: Gavin has heterochromia- his left eye is green, while his right eye is brown.
Sweet! I'll add my sheet to the Character tab ASAP!
Okay. I think I'll start writing a character up for the Moon Arcana, since Strength was already taken. Thanks for the info!
Are you guys still accepting? And if so, what Arcana are still up for grabs?
If this guy gets accepted, which I think he will, then maybe you should make him a member of the Vanguard. It seems like something he'd do, as the Vanguard is full of people like him, who want to help instead of hurt with their powers. Also, loving all the greek names and references with the powers, their pretty sweet.
Thanks! I've always had a fascination with Greek mythology, which has, by extension, infected Gavin. Perhaps he just had a lot of time to himself in Curdun Cay...?
Probably, between experiments and training their doesn't serm to be a lot else one can do, but a question if you will. What would Gavin absorb to refuel. Would it be oil, just any kind of flammable liquid, or just tar
I was thinking just any kind of flammable liquid or such nonsense. He's not really sure- he hasn't had much Conduit experience. Generally he just sets something like a car on fire and absorbs the resulting smoke/heat/vapors/what-have-you. I suppose it's something he still needs to figure out, especially seeing as he can't just go around igniting cars anymore.
