@Lmpkio That’s between you and the players, but I’d certainly like to see it, if so!
@Lmpkio Hey, that’s pretty good! Yeah, that’s generally the aesthetic you should be going for- giant bio-metal cyborg stuff. Very Eva.
@Lucky Your backstory is yours to determine. Obviously, the Prototype will be a complete rookie, since the newly-fielded Queen Unit is their Dragon, and the Veteran is self-explanatory, but it’s free game for anyone else- be a rookie, an ace, whatever.
@Lucky That’s fine! This is a very unconventional mecha concept, anyway. Rather than focus on the technical aspects of mechs or mobile suits or what have you, think of his more as a dragon rider with their dragon (hence the name). Mechanical they may be, Dragons are still living beings. A Pilot who forgets this fact is a dead man.
@Kitty I don’t plan on an upper limit for players or even Pilots, really. Just as many people as I can get interested. OOC, as mentioned, will be up this weekend.
@Cultural Titan Dragons have reptilian features across the species, but their form and function can be incredibly diverse. They just all have dragon-y features, even if just cosmetically.

Pilot candidates require only two things to become Pilots: physical compatibility with the implants, and mental compatibility with the Dragon. That’s all. So, yes, there are Pilots like how you described- willing to put themselves through hell just to feel whole again.

Some regret it. Some don’t. Depends on what you consider a fair price.
You know what? Screw it. OOC is going up by the weekend. Stay tuned.
If we get a couple more people, I can set up the OOC.
@Lumiere Physically, Pilots are altered using extensive gene therapy and cybernetic implants to make them more Shard-like, to integrate more completely with their Dragons. Mentally, they must train to commune with the AION (Artifical Instinct Override Network, essentially the brain of their individual Dragon) in order to operate in tandem with their personal alien.

Both regimens are equally difficult, enough so that approximately 1 in 4 Pilot candidates do not survive the process. Surviving Pilots, however, are physically stronger, faster, and more mentally acute than baseline or even most augmented examples of their species.

Plus, you know, they have a Dragon.
@Reflection Dragons are reverse-engineered from the flesh and blood of Shard warbodies, and thus are more a mix of organic and mechanical in design. If you want an idea of the kind of look you want to go for...

...then this might help.

Pictures won’t necessarily be needed- a good description might actually be preferable. Long story short is that Dragons are living mechanical organisms, bonded to a Pilot in order to achieve their full potential.
