Waves are emitted by all matter and energy in some form of another. Waves cause other matter and energy to be manipulated in some manner. All brains emit waves unique to their particular physical structure and neuron bridging. Codex have unique neurological structures that allow them to emit concentrated waves of specific wavelength and period. This allows matter and energy to be altered and manipulated by the frequency and intensity, each a very specific value for each Codex, which in some way per Codex alters the way these behave when in contact with other matter or energy. For example, Ma'at's would likely resonate with matter and energy, allowing her to direct vectors at will by overriding their natural courses and causing them to go in the direction she wishes. This is also why Codex must have immense calculation ability, for they need to direct these waves into very specific locations and tweak the frequencies within their range just enough to obtain the reactions they want to have.
