Messing with basic CS design for NPCs using your CS for our players. It's
incredibly simplified in comparison.

Finished basic location guide for what I imagine are our four main locations.
Can flesh them out a bit more later, especially after the OOC and we get some
outside ideas flooding in.

You need to stop staying up so late.

Microfiction&Poetry Contest #1 - Voting and Feedback

I can't vote for this. I have tried and spent an entire night reading through these and watching as each one climbs to the top and then another comes along and knocks it off it's throne. Some left me very contemplative, others in awe. One of them made me laugh and there was one that was just so cute and short and it'd probably be my ringtone. So, instead of giving critiques, I'm simply going to leave a comment on how a few made me feel and why they stuck out to me. There's a loose order here but I'm also half asleep with a terrible cup of coffee trying to pick up where I left off.

It's four lines but there's too much nuance in this. And the way it's been served to me; like a plate from a restaurant with a michelin star. It tastes amazing even if I don't understand all the flavors and it's plated the best by far. It's somber but I have an odd appreciation for poems like this.

Sensitivity to Initial Conditions
Appreciation for this grew on me after the second read. For being less of a poem and too real a thing. It's really sad in that way. Not because of a concept but because I could walk outside and run into this man.

The more I think about it, the more real it gets and it's too early for that.

I recently sat next to a fire pit with a mug of hot chocolate. This mug had the little marshmallows in it that remind you that you were once a kid but fuck it you can still enjoy this. So I did. Very content indeed. Also very warm.

Is there a word you really dislike? Why?

To make it interesting, we can leave out anything clearly offensive or derogatory. Like rural. Who did this to us and why?

Is forum Roleplaying beginning to slow down?

I can't speak for everyone else but as for me, I've simply grown up, found where my limits are and stuck to it. When I was younger, I could sign up for near ten games and play all of them until they died on their own. Nowadays, I'm too busy, too distracted with other things, too invested in my own life to have enough time for anything more than two.

If the golden age of forum RP was

probably 1998-2014

then many of those same players have grown as well and are doing the same. None of us have left (I started 2006). We're around.

So to answer the question, forum RP is on the decline, not because the hobby is dying but because it has expanded to include other forms of media and most of the ones who used to forum RP are probably doing other things.

But I'm no expert. I just live here sometimes.

Can I hire someone to say the word 'rural' for me?
