Current You'd think after like 15 years I'd stop feeling like a fraud when writing posts but I still do which is both a statement on my self confidence and a compliment to how good my partners are as writers

Considering the number of games they help put out on a yearly basis and how many of those games are actually functional out of the box I'd say they earn the 'good' title. Certainly they're better than some of their contemporaries like Ubisoft and Activision. Even without Battlefield and sports games, EA has their fingers in a lot of pies that pop out the video game oven.

Oh did the thing I planted a flag on win? Finna make that rival
EA is a good publisher and don't deserve the bad reputation they have, not when there are way worse devs and studios out there that slip under the radar because they don't have the money or undue vitriol from people still pissed about Mass Effect 3 and DLC.

I mean, LJN was a thing. They were worse!
Well when your show is honest about being pretty much a commercial then it's hard to fault it for being what it is.
To be fair to Attack on Titan though, it's been like three years since season one ended and season two isn't until April of next year so it's not like fans have had a lot of content to consume. I mean there's the manga but psssh who reads the manga anymore. Anime fandoms are weird because it's always a flash in the pan thing. You've got the long running stuff that is always there but then like clockwork some show gets super popular for a season until the next big thing comes along just as people were starting to realize the old show they hyped up was actually kind of shit all along. It's a vicious cycle. Attack on Titan, Sword Art Online, Kill la Kill, Gurren Lagann, Re:Zero, etc.

Orange is the New Black just turned to utter shit after season two so that's probably why people abandoned it. Also because Netflix shows are pretty mediocre across the board anyway and OITNB had the honor of being one of the first. See also: House of Cards.

Fandoms is fucked.

Sorry, fam, gonna have to bow outta this. But I wish you and your RP great success. Keep it cool
All shounen series are bad even DBZ come at me
In addition, Dark Souls does everything Witcher does with a much less of an obnoxious fanbase for me. Witcher is known as a hard game, Dark Souls is known as the game basically set up to kill you at every turn and you will die (coming from the person who literally managed to die within the first 30 seconds of DS2 by falling off a cliff), plus Fromsoft internally trolls the fuck out of its players like by not actually giving you a tutorial in cutscenes but in gravestones that you can destroy and render unusable. Also, until the day that Witcher has a contest that pays people money for trying to explain the lore, its tag of being a comprensive lore can go and fuck itself since its null and void.

While I dislike people who are like "The Witcher 3 is the best shit ever changed my life true RPG" which is all over the place, I dunno if I would call the Souls fanbase less obnoxious. Never have I seen a fanbase that forgets where they came from so hard. Just go to any stream or video where someone's playing for the first time and people will be backseat gaming in the worst way, complaining that the streamer didn't do this, spamming 'git gud' and generally being unable to realize that first time players aren't expected to know how to get this obscure piece of equipment or the best route to get through things in as min/max a way as possible. There's a clear divide between Souls players that gives them this really shitty aura of people acting like they came into Demon's or Dark or whichever the fuck as golden gods who did everything flawlessly.

There's offering helpful tips. And then there's "Do it this way or you're doing it wrong" and the Souls fandom leans more to the latter than they really should. The reputation of Dark Souls precedes it and people that advertise it as "Oh man it's fuckin brutal" are missing the god damn point of the game anyway.

The Witcher 3 is a better game than any given Souls game but the two really shouldn't be compared. It's easy to compare Witcher and Skyrim because those are games in the same genre and that's all people need sometimes. Skyrim is an easy target, especially for rabid Witcher 3 fans, because Skyrim is a deeply flawed game with a lot of problems in its overall design and Witcher 3's problems are less immediately obvious (but are no less there). Honestly half the reason the Witcher 3 fanbase is so annoying is because a good chunk of them are those unironic PCMR types who suck the dick of CDProjektRed but will still pirate their games.

It's six in one hand, half a dozen in the other. I'd sooner park my car in the Souls lot but then the Souls series has had two good games whereas Witcher has just had one and I am a whore for numbers.

@Eklispe Aye, I'll have a post tomorrow
@Azaria Blue The latter

But why not both
