A true representation of Marlowe
mean ol' talu.

Terhikki listened in as her 'partner' spoke. She tilted her head and made a 'whoa' sound of genuine interest in Marina's utterings, as if she earnestly enjoyed listening to others regall people with their experiences. Even if Marina was vague and abrupt, it was still information about the woman that Terhikki hadn't had yet.

"Awesome! I was right to pick you, I could tell you've seen a lot!" She grinned at Marina, before her smug demeanor resumed and she looked to Marlowe herself.

And by 'looked to Marlowe', she leapt to her feet and lifted a leg to rest on her chair, presenting herself in a dominant position as she shut her eyes and struck a, what was in her mind, rather elegant pose of 'I'm sticking my thumb up to get your attention looking at me because it's my turn to talk and tell my story'.

"Terhikki Vepsalainen is a Snow Hare. I'm sure you've heard of us- the best divers of the Frozen Sea. I've been in the water for four years, and I've been breaking ice for three. I'm the best ice breaker there is, and a mighty good swimmer to boot. Second only to my own teacher." Her eyes opened as she began her story. "The Frozen Sea is full of awesome stuff down in the waters, and I've explored a lot of territory...Not all of it, but I've hunted and scavenged those waters with my tribe for long enough to be familiar with it all. There are amazing ruins down under the ice, and I hope to see more of them in all the other seas."

She then pumped a fist heroically- er, what she thought was heroically at least.

"And that's why I'm here- to explore the seven seas, to make new memories, to build up awesome stories and collect cool things! That way when I return home, I can teach the Snow Hares all about the outside world and show them that the world outside the ice shelf..."

She made smug smile, as if finding this 'ending' to her tale pretty awesome.

"...Is as cool as the world beneath it."

She then sat back down and let out a sigh of 'I'm relaxing now'.

"Eh. Never seen one of the Leviathans though. Snow Hares avoid its nest; too dangerous to go near it, we wouldn't risk our people going there. Maybe one day I'll get a look at it."

She finally seemed to be drying up, at last.
Jesus, one week in and we’re sitting at over 200 posts. Keep up the hard work everyone!

Terhikki's eyes widened a bit at Marina's final statement.

What exactly does she mean by that? Intimacy can mean a lot of things- I'm intimate with all my friends in that I don't keep secrets and can be pretty hug-happy. But does she mean like-- Terhikki, just ask, don't let things confuse you! she chastised herself at the end of ther thought process, before retaking control of her eyes.

"What do you mean by 'Intim'---"

She found herself cut off by Marlowe and Marea, but mostly by the contract being handed to her. She took it with mild confusion.

"What's thi- Contract, right." she mumbled to herself, letting the others talk over her. She even flipped it upside down in her hands as if that might somehow help her achieve literacy through some miraculous ephiphany. Sadly, no such sudden realization came. She lifted her head when Marina spoke and asked the two to explain the contract, before she shut her eyes and adopted a smug expression.

"She called me partner, tch. Guess it's official." She giggled to herself, before opening her eyes and looking up at Marlowe and Marea.

"Can I just sign with an 'x' and someone else verify my signature? That worked when I passed through the Imperial Sea." She elaborated as she nodded, her eyes lingering on Marea due to her blue hair but eventually settling on Marlowe as she awaited his explanation. But before he got started, her eyes widened a bit and she grinned.

"Oh dude, you should be on our crew. I can see it in your eyes- the sea's in your blood, you're really excited." She then glanced at Marina and lifted a hand over her own mouth as if to shut herself up as she gestured with the other hand for Marlowe to actually explain the contract. She understood she could be a chatterbox at times and wanted to actually hear the details of this contract before more spontaneous thoughts escaped her mouth.
Deus Vult, my dude. Pagans be damned whether by hermeticism or by catholocism.@Bazmund
I'm also a tribal barbarian girl in an anime roleplay, if we wanna add to the sacrilege list.
I noticed almost right away and kept quiet because I ain't no snitch.

As an aside I'll be able to reply properly in a few hours when I get off work. Working weekends is great. Trust me. Fantastic.i would never lie to you about fantastic things
Tell that to the inquisition, buckaroo.

Hugo isn't a particularly 'honor' focused individual. He's a knight, still, meaning he values it and has a reputation to uphold- but as a Templar the only authority he answers to is Papal Decree. The Templar are beyond all law except the Pope's, historically.

So yeah. The overlapping of different rules and systems is what I was trying to make light of there, not specific people's morality. Some folks answering to the duke, some to coin and contract, some to ulterior motives, and one dude to a higher power/religious power. It'll be fun seeing all these people mesh for the sake of the quest.
*flipping through character sheets*

Well I'm glad I made Hugo. Moral Compass, woohoo. Not saying that anybody particularly lacks morals or is particularly dishonest, but it'll be fun being a full fledged Templar in the midst of this crew.
