Bio

You showed up.

One way or another, you've arrived at my profile. You've taken a wrong turn in an alleyway because you didn't pay enough attention to your map. You've heard of something cool and new and thought maybe you'd see what all the fuss is about? Or maybe it is that you noticed like me updating my status or were lurking through an RP or something I am in and just kinda clicked my profile, that happens too. Regardless, you'll come to learn that your actions have consequences. Not this one since you can always just, like, leave.

I have a few names and I don't mind being called whatever you fancy at that given time. KingofTheSpectrum, FamishedPants, ChadChadlainn. Any derivative of these is fine as well. Most tend to use Pants, however. I'm nearing my thirties and enjoy games, anime, V-tubers, and visual novels. You can find my still-obsolete list here as it contains everything important on it.

As for games particularly, I am a huge fan of Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Nier and its sequel, FFXIV, and recently, Project Wingman.I tend to lean towards shooters and action games, but I have also wasted 8+ years on League of Legends. I think the only games I tend to avoid are card games and sports games, but there can always be exceptions.

For anime, I tend to watch whatever looks entertaining. It doesn't have to be good. I've seen a lot of the generic, poor-quality isekai harems that are out there. It's difficult to remember what I actually genuinely like, but Chaika the Coffin Princess comes to mind, as well as FMA: Brotherhood. I'm currently enjoying Tokyo Revengers.

I've read my fair share of visual novels, as my list would tell you. I can't recommend going through Muv Luv Extra/Unlimited, then playing Alternative enough! Big fan of Rance, Grisaia no Kajitsu, and Demonbane as well. I could probably go on and on about them, but I'll stop here.

Also, fuck you, Broken.

"We're done here!"

A battle could be a great deal many things, depending on time, location, foe, and circumstances. A battle could be a waste of time. A battle could be a friendly spar. And a battle could also be a game of chess. It is this kind of game that the current fight fell under. Because Aleph refused to be beaten by this mage, and because said mage was overwhelmingly strong, it could not simply be a straightforward fight. Absolutely not. Each and every action and reaction had to have a clear purpose within one's mind if he was going to end this fight without being made a mess of.

And that is why the battlefield was as it is now. He had nothing more than a simple but effective plan in finishing this event. The pieces had been set as well. There was some distance between the two, he was not in her vision, and he had presumably led her into thinking that he was going to launch an attack by using the dust as cover. How critically foolish she was!

He once again tapped into his magical ability, this time with one he was more familiar with. As his was a supportive magic, he had used a spell that made his physical abilities even greater! Using this spell, he could jump higher, hit harder, and move quicker and react even faster, surely he would be a deadly foe with this once he got close!

Yet that was the problem. It wasn't possible for him to GET CLOSE. Even as strong as she was, he could hopefully overwhelm her, but she also knew this and would not let it get to this point. That is why he would have to do yet another thing he loathed being forced to do: He would have to unleash one of his secret techniques upon her. One that should leave her jaw wide open.

"It hasn't failed me yet, so I don't think it will fail me now!"

As stated before, the reason the dust was kicked up was not actually to perform an attack on her, but to remove vision of himself. That was the entire purpose of his sloppy magical blasts, and they had served him well since she had launched a rather frightening attack into the smokescreen. One would expect him to have continued charging either way, but he instead backed off before she had made the dust a deathpit, by leaping backwards. With the power of his magic supporting his fairly impressive physical ability, it was almost as though he was on the moon or in space. And with another leap, he would see to it that his plan had succeeded!

....except then somebody interrupted their fight, clearly pretending like the battle going on meant little to him besides acting as an annoyance.

"Stop this right now!" the strong voice demanded.

Aleph, being in the middle of the motion to perform yet another jump, almost tripped and fell, but managed to catch himself before the accident happened. That probably would have been pretty embarrassing. Who had dared interrupt their fight this time!? Aleph caught view of the intruder and... felt a bit of shiver. Somehow, he felt like this... uh, what was the name for them again? Oaks? Oars? Well, it didn't matter. This... guy? did not look like the kidding type, and he was far too preoccupied with this woman to deal with him as well. Besides, he could use this as a chance not to reveal his hidden technique to the people spectating the battle, or his very foe! Perfect!

Striking a pose with a puffed-out chest as though he was not just struggling with this fight a mere moment earlier, Aleph proudly declared, "Very well! It has become clear to me that fate desires this battle to be postponed! I am confident that such a spectacular fight must be delayed until all of the pieces are in place. A strong foe deserves a much better stage, after all. Until then, Aleph, the Hero, shall make his leave!"

With a hearty laugh and a very agile series of hops, Aleph swiftly vacated the scene. Boy, he was lucky, wasn't he?
@Lucius Cypher

I think basically it's because that Aleph is very delusional and Vesta thinks she's better than everybody else and those two traits don't mesh well, especially since Aleph's delusions involve him being a hero, Kyle being the Demon Lord, and Vesta being Kyle's minion (which is quite ironic.)

@Lunarlors34

I was tempted to do that, but you are incorrect in your assumption. Another hint: The interruption right now only helps Aleph.

Edit: I imagine that, although a bit odd, Aleph will be pretty bro to those he befriends.

O-oh yeah!? Well, I can almost get an SS on this on normal!

And, @Lunarlors34 are you implying my flawless hidden technique, my ultimate trumpcard, my noble phantasm would not instantly end the fight? FOOL! Combined with his SHSL Luck and his SHSL Mine's teigu's ability from AgK! (not that it really applies, yet), he could, without a doubt, end this fight, especially with the smoke (dust) screen dividing vision from the two of them. She would never seen it coming! Mwahahaha! You think Vesta has some sort of Xanatos Gambit going on? THINK AGAIN.

Well, all that being said... I actually my refrain from using it. I kinda want to see Avery and Vesta interact, considering one of them's in a bit of trouble.

I'll post shortly.
@FamishedPants Cough, use a hider for the spoilers.

I left things vague enough, I think. Unless you're referring to the Rie Kugimiya part? Or perhaps the general outcome of the anime, which is kinda obvious to begin with, though.
Wew lad. Season 2 of Re:0 is gonna be fun, particularly the first episode of it. Reaction videos out the butt, my prediction.

I really wish I could just write my post so Vesta knows just what kind of Hero she is dealing with, but FamishedPant's grandma REALLY likes to cause inconveniences for him. No internet at her place, unfortunately. Ah, but nobody wants to hear me whine, so I'll stop.

I will TRY to get a post up tonight, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I apologize for the increasing suspense, I'm sure everybody is prepared to see just how exactly Aleph is going to end this fight next post, but I assure you that on top of it being a rather defining moment in this RP, it is worth the wait.

Literally fuck Dangit, Ron Paul 3! I mean, I LOVED watching it. It was absolutely hilarious, and lots of memes were had, but it was all so... stupid. Stupid and pointless. Undermined the ending of DR2, all of the cooler new characters from the series died (plus my VA waifu), and it even contradicted things mentioned earlier in the series. Objectively like a 3 out of 10, especially with the ending being so cliche and happy, but yet my waifu is still dead. Sorta. Depends on if you count delusions somebody having of said waifu as alive or not.

But yeah it was fun as a meme.

The moment you all have waited for is soon approaching! Aleph has met every condition required to pull off the hidden technique which will undoubtedly end this fight. Perhaps if Vesta could read into Aleph's moves, maybe she would be prepared. But as it is now? Not even a prodigy like herself can do anything, like most people when Lancer from FSN shows them his Gay Bulge.

That all being said... I am currently busy and won't be able to post tonight, maybe later tomorrow! So I guess what I am saying is, this is... To Be Continued --- >
I have posted! But I would not be surprised if there are problems with what I did. Unfortunately, I had kinda selected Yang as my magic and only realized after the fact that there's like 2 friggin spells that have been used in the source material. One of them, though, was finger death rays so I figured a magic concussive blast would be acceptable.

If not, merely tell me and I'll rewrite. C:

I would be kinda scared. I would imagine it being similar to if you beat Laharl during the events of Disgaea 2.
Doubleposting op tbh xd

"A Hero always has something else up his sleeve!"

*CLANG*

Aleph's hilt met only a wall created by the woman's magic, which separated the two of them. He did not have to be frustrated as he was made to backpedal to avoid the wall crumbling right down on him. Yet more distance between the two, making this fight even more difficult for him. He would have to concede that as long as he continued in this way, she would eventually gain the upper hand she would need to finish him off. Perhaps he should stop playing pretend?

There was a small pause after the wall fell as he heard his opponent's voice. "I use basic spells because you're not worthy of ones which actually require effort Mr 'Hero'." she taunted.

"Don't let a little praise go to your head." Aleph replied calmly. "You've got the wrong idea of what kind of foe you face."

It would be a lie to say that Aleph was not holding back too. He wasn't using EVERY tool at his disposal, but that was because he always preferred fighting with his sword alone. He thought that the most heroic thing a Hero could do was fight on the frontlines, with only his skill with the blade assisting him. Anything else? Not as heroic. Magic especially. It would be especially cool to defeat a powerful mage like this woman with merely his blade alone, no? But that probably wasn't going to happen. A veteran of a fair amount of fights, Aleph at least recognized what this woman was going to do and without some form of assistance, there was little he could do about it. A predictable, but very effective tactic. This was assuming that she wasn't just bluffing pretty hard right now and claiming she was a lot stronger than she was. While such a possibility would be hilarious, the fact she didn't seem the least bit bothered by casting these spells in succession gave him the idea that she wasn't kidding. He would very likely run out of steam before she did. Were he better prepared for a fight with her, maybe he could overcome this without resorting to certain things. Well, since she was supposedly the Demon Lord's general, it would make sense he couldn't kid around. He could admit that effortlessly defeating the highest ranking generals without trying was the height of arrogance -- something he had abused quite a bit to defeat foes more physically superior than him.

He would not want to lose due to arrogance on his behalf. So now, he should at least try. It would be very nice to see the irritated look on her face if he managed to get her serious. That was always fun.

From Vesta's point of view on the other side of her wave attack, it would probably appear as though Aleph jumped with enough force to kick up a bit of dust from his takeoff point. And, of course, he cleared the wave of earth rolling towards him. He fluidly continued forth, but pointed his hand towards the woman and sprayed bolts of magic towards her, though only one would even hit her were she to just sit there. The other two hit the ground a bit in front of Aleph, kicking up quite a bit of dust, drastically limiting visibility. None of these bolts would be lethal, of course, but a direct hit would probably feel like a pretty mean punch. Their use was merely for utility, as was pretty much anything Aleph could cast himself.
<Snipped quote by FamishedPants>

Hint: She can do more than just throw rocks XD Also unless he suddenly has a ranged attack he's going to have a difficult time unleashing his trump card. Vesta isn't exactly going to stand there and let him get close to her, as stated in the last post she knows if he gets close enough she will lose.

Personally, my goal is to get her to get serious before the fight ends. Though I wouldn't mind Aleph actually defeating her, either C: Either of those would be considered my win conditions for this fight. Aleph, on the other hand, merely wishes to meme. But since Vesta is no weakling like the rest of the people he gets in fights with for the most part, he also kinda just wants to not get beaten silly. His ideal win condition would be her surrendering (So that's not gonna happen) or at least not losing. Something important to note is that being knocked out or otherwise disabled is what he considers to be "losing".

The ability I am going to use in this post I'm writing is NOT the trump card I was referring to, so remember that as well.
