You showed up.

One way or another, you've arrived at my profile. You've taken a wrong turn in an alleyway because you didn't pay enough attention to your map. You've heard of something cool and new and thought maybe you'd see what all the fuss is about? Or maybe it is that you noticed like me updating my status or were lurking through an RP or something I am in and just kinda clicked my profile, that happens too. Regardless, you'll come to learn that your actions have consequences. Not this one since you can always just, like, leave.

I have a few names and I don't mind being called whatever you fancy at that given time. KingofTheSpectrum, FamishedPants, ChadChadlainn. Any derivative of these is fine as well. Most tend to use Pants, however. I'm nearing my thirties and enjoy games, anime, V-tubers, and visual novels. You can find my still-obsolete list here as it contains everything important on it.

As for games particularly, I am a huge fan of Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Nier and its sequel, FFXIV, and recently, Project Wingman.I tend to lean towards shooters and action games, but I have also wasted 8+ years on League of Legends. I think the only games I tend to avoid are card games and sports games, but there can always be exceptions.

For anime, I tend to watch whatever looks entertaining. It doesn't have to be good. I've seen a lot of the generic, poor-quality isekai harems that are out there. It's difficult to remember what I actually genuinely like, but Chaika the Coffin Princess comes to mind, as well as FMA: Brotherhood. I'm currently enjoying Tokyo Revengers.

I've read my fair share of visual novels, as my list would tell you. I can't recommend going through Muv Luv Extra/Unlimited, then playing Alternative enough! Big fan of Rance, Grisaia no Kajitsu, and Demonbane as well. I could probably go on and on about them, but I'll stop here.

Also, fuck you, Broken.

"Take that, barrier-kun!"

Had Shade any real sense of teamwork hiding within her, she may have felt just a bit guilty she wasn't really involved in any of these colossal fights going on at the current moment. Each person here seemed to be giving it their all. Limits were perhaps passed, unfathomable techniques were probably released, and some may have given all. On both sides, too. Characters fighting for reasons much less selfish than Sil's own continued battling with not even a brief considering from the assassin.

Were she to stop and consider their ideals and convictions, maybe she would have been a bit jealous. Jealous that someone could care enough for some ideal, some selfless reason enough to battle in such a way. But Silhouette had only truly known the allure of a long-lasting life and good pay. A just cause was never cause enough for her to risk her life. Her sole exception was a perversion brought about by a cursed coin, one she would purge from herself eventually.

Yes, all she cared about now was the mission that would satisfy her employer.

No matter how 'important' these other fights were, what casualties might be suffered due to her negligence, she avoided all of them. Only one actually mattered to her -- the one involving her new VIP, Sue. So she ran, and ran some more. Her way was made towards the castle, where she seemed to have caught up with a couple of others who'd also desired to join the battle there. So long as they didn't impede her, Sil had no reason to care what they did. But it was shortly after that they'd reached a barrier, along with a large number of maids who, in any other circumstance, would have appeared to be making some sort of cheerleading routine. In this case, however, it seemed as though they were attempting to cross the barrier. Sil wasn't sure how strong if at all, these maids were, but they'd probably be a pain nonetheless. They certainly weren't friendly, that was for sure.

"Hmm..."

Shade was about to prepare to begin dealing with these maids when suddenly someone made quite the dramatic entrances to the room via the ceiling. She muttered something about failing Justine before going limp, which apparently prompted the maids to take care of her instead of attempting to scale the barrier from before. That saved she and the others the chore of dealing with them, so she mentally thanked the ceiling antagonist for its appearance, before turning to the barrier.

"Ummm... I don't suppose either of you can do anything about this, can you?" she asked rather innocently but she wasn't given a response that was to her liking. Despite her rather cutesy appearance, she was mildly frustrated. Under the guise of a cute skip she approached the barrier and gave it a rather strong punch.

The barrier did not react but then again, a barrier that weak might as well not even exist.

Instead, the punch was more of an attempt to vent some frustration. She was going to have to bare ChronoRend to remove this thing, as attempting to scale it was far too time-consuming at the moment and ironically, time was not something she had right now. Shade clicked her tongue, which would actually be the only obvious sign of her displeasure given the bright smile her idol disguise almost perpetually had, and then she merely summoned her special dagger. Channeling mana through the blade, the assassin wasted no time and made a few swift slashes at the barrier, and in stark contrast to her punch, these effortlessly cut through the barrier like a hot knife through butter. This left a door-shaped wound in the barrier, assuming the entire thing didn't shatter when compromised.

"Come on, there's no time to lose~!" she informed the two girls she was now partied with before hopping through the entrance she'd made. She still felt pretty irritated that she was forced to use ChronoRend, but thinking about it, it made no sense. Nobody here would recognize her and having it out meant she wouldn't be fighting with a handicap. Logically, there's no reason she needed to be upset, but she still was.

Thinking about something silly like that is only distracting, I'll worry about it later.
Zachary Ackerson

How cruel.

How unfortunate.

How... hopeless.

Zachary, much like the rest of the cast, had a very difficult time keeping up with this case. He'd offered what input he could, yet his involvement, in this case, was fairly minimal. Except for some small facts that ultimately seemed pointless, he may as well not have bothered trying to contribute at all. This case in which their lives were staked on. The frustration of helplessness was very present in the young man. But... something else was too. A deep sadness.

To learn that Mercy Evergreen was in the state she was in was heartbreaking. She appeared so nice, and even though he'd only been privy to the fact she even had a face days ago, Zachary still felt pain knowing that an ally of his was suffering. Worse yet, Felix was essentially collateral damage in this case. Another life that did not need to be snuffed out. The fact that he perished in the courtroom was very concerning. When they returned here, would that happen again? Zachary feared such a thought.

But perhaps the saddest part of all of this was the fact that Felix left somebody behind. Someone who quite dearly loved him. The Infinite Police Officer was apparently his brother, and it was quite obvious the death was affecting him. If Zachary was braver, if he was a stronger person, then maybe he would be close enough to the cop to express his condolences. Yet this was not the case. In his outburst, The Infinite Police Officer revealed that nobody here must have truly gotten close to him. At least, nobody still standing. Perhaps Zachary was overthinking it, but if that was indeed the case, then he may have even pitied the man. Experiencing loss in this place was now par for the course, but to lose an actual family member and have nobody to truly lean on?

Of course, despite the sorrow Zachary felt for the people who'd perished, there was at least the comfort in knowing Nariko was eliminated. He wasn't sure just how concrete this 'execution' was, but the less murderous robots, the better. Especially ones that trick their 'friends' and confine them against their wills. Good riddance to that bucket of bolts. Now if only Davis would follow suit.

"You look worse in person, maybe you should go back to hiding behind a screen." is what Zachary really desired to spit at Davis. He ended up keeping his mouth shut in realization that it would achieve nothing but perhaps giving his captor the satisfaction of knowing he was getting to the young archer. Instead, he merely glared at the man as he spoke. Other people would likely speak up and insult the man for him, but Zachary would prefer to just get back to the 'normal life' of their confinement.

When would all of this killing end?

"Crimson Caroline is my waifu."

To say there was a lot of action going on would be an understatement. This place had become somewhat of a war zone, with their tank being decommissioned and the sounds of people engaging in mortal combat resounding through the air. Silhouette thought this entire place had an "end of the world" feeling to it. People weren't pulling punches, they were pulling out all of the stops. Yet even so, Shade was not interested in the least about any of this, yet. Her role was currently one of an observer. The only reason she fought alongside any of these people was to keep her cover, or at least aggression off of her. Even as bad as her disguise technically was, the only thing anybody here seemed to care about was if she was being useful and not backstabbing people -- which she was proud to say she had avoided doing.

All of this commotion provided the perfect opportunity to have a quick chat with her employer. But first, she needed to deal with Suwako. That honestly wouldn't be difficult at all.

Silhouette cracked her knuckles.

"Mariette seemed concerned about you, I'd find her if I were you. She seems like the super scary type when she's upset," Shade told the young archer. "I'll see you later~!" and without further conversation, the idol quickly departed from the scene, allowing no time for chase. And once she had reached a suitable, quiet location (relatively speaking), she retrieved the object her employer had gifted her for this task, and spoke into it after kneeling down.

"Ohaiyo, it's--" Silhouette immediately cleared her throat as she caught herself needlessly keeping character. "I mean...this is Silhouette. The situation seems to have... escalated." she informed her employer.

“Yes, I'm starting to see it on my side as well.” Veronica remained calm. “I trust you are adapting to the situation?”

"Yes, that's correct." Silhouette answered after a short pause, her eye open for any potential eavesdroppers. "The disguise has yet to be compromised. I am fitting into their group - if you could even refer to it as such - quite easily." An average person might have only heard the mostly-monotone voice of hers, but someone like Veronica probably picked up the confidence laying underneath.

“Glad you're having fun.” Veronica did not sound especially glad.

"I assure you that the only thing that has entertained me thus far is the potential end to all of this." Silhouette lied in order to protect her image.

“Someone of interest has just used a black coin. That is to say she has become one of our allies. I am unsure how she's handling her situation, So I would like you to join up with her.” Sil could feel Veronica squint her eyes. “Her survival is extremely desirable. Make sure you leave the over city with her.”

"Is that so?" Silhouette thought for a moment. She recalled the desperate situation in which she was forced to utilize her own Black Coin. She also remembered the... state she was in during it. It was anything but pleasant. Would their new 'ally' be the same in that regard? In all honesty, Sil was much better at eliminating opponents than disabling them.

"Very well. Then I shall make extracting the VIP my primary objective." Sil confirmed. "But does this person have a name?"

“Sue.” Sil could hear Veronica shifting papers around. She must have been at her desk, but it was impossible to know if it was her own personal desk, or one for the police department. It might have even been both. “I'm unsure how the coin has changed her, but I trust you are familiar enough with the group to know who I'm talking about?” Veronica paused, perhaps to read something on her desk. “I do not believe you will have much luck extracting her without her friends. I'm also not sure how much longer we can let Justine's antics continue. She's starting to become more trouble than she's worth. Removing her and her followers might be in our best interest.”

"In that case, I shall attempt to help them do so as long as it doesn't conflict with extracting Sue," Silhouette replied. "I will contact you with the favorable results." the assassin spoke, before ending the call and standing up.

Sue? Wasn't she Amber's familiar? Quite odd that she used a Black Coin. I wonder what happened.

Because she now had a more clear objective, Silhouette could more properly focus her effort on achieving something. Sil was briefed on Amber and Sue back when she was made to sabotage the boat, so she at least knew their names and the relationship they had. It would make the most sense for Sue to be with Amber, given her status as a familiar. And, if Silhouette recalled correctly, Amber really wanted to lead the way towards the "big bad" so to speak. The most obvious place they could be is within the castle, probably confronting Justine. So, Shade deftly set off in that direction and would not stop unless something or somebody actively attempted to stop her.

"'Black Hole' had better be the name of this guy's Quirk."

@pkken

"Either you're so dumb that you've become numb to pain or your quirk isn't simply High-speed regeneration...but. Whatever your quirk may be, I want to see whether or not you can really comeback from my 'black hole'."

Toru had shrunk under Amane's threat. He had no longer been wearing the almost-tired expression he'd probably become known for later on. In its place was clear discomfort and perhaps a little disgust. He might have even been sweating a little bit. Toru had not been able to say anything back to the man as he left, and had stood there, rather silent, until the guy departed. And once he had? Toru had calmed down, and even sighed in relief.

...now that I think about it, he was probably referring to his Quirk. Black hole? Yeah, that makes much more sense than...

It seemed some sort of misunderstanding was the source of Toru's reaction, not intimidation. At least, not the kind Amane was probably intending. Either way, Toru'd perhaps be just a bit cautious around that individual on the offchance that his proposition was not a test of Quirks.

Toru left the Nurse's Office.

...

...

...

Given the strange cast of people he'd met in only a very short time of escaping confinement, Toru decided he would attempt to retire for the night. He met with some member of the staff, and after only a couple of minutes, he was allowed to leave and told where he was going to be staying. If he had to guess, the school was informed about his habits and they were either okay with it or they were going to surprise him tomorrow with some sort of punishment. He didn't care either way as he was mentally exhausted. He was really good at giving people shit, but wasn't exactly the best at taking it, so today was fairly stressful. And the only time his attempts at a prank really worked, it had been in a way that sorta backfired on him.

Yeah, screw today.

Toru found his way to the dorm lobby, where he discovered two people chatting up a storm. One of them did not seem to be in the best of shape. Is this why nobody cared about my arm? Damn this school already! Gonna have to get pretty creative at this rate. His bitter thoughts remained in his head though. He gave each of the students a quick glance before passing by them, headed towards the room he'd be staying at. He was rather fortunate to have bothered to check in with the school, otherwise, he'd be headed towards the wrong room. Apparently, they'd changed where he'd be spending his nights due to some complication or another. He just hoped he could sleep in peace.

Toru entered his room and looked around. It wasn't anything special, but given that he'd been stuck in a locker for a week, he was certainly anything but ungrateful.

There was... well, a discovery of sorts. It seemed that the badge had a bigger part to play in the murder than the group had originally figured. But as good as that was, they still needed more before they could find out just who had done such a horrible thing. And, unfortunately, Zach really wasn't too bright in this way. It frustrated him still. Though, glancing around, he did not think he was the only one.

“So the killer needed to get the mask on Mercy!” Zach heard the Infinite Caretaker exclaimed, causing him to turn to look at her. “Did anyone spot Mercy today? We need to form a timeline of where she's been.” There was another discovery. Well, two of them, and they were quite big and quite mesmerizing. Zach shook himself out of a quick daze before blushing. Now was a horrible time for this.

"...Ahem." he coughed, clearing his throat in an attempt to regain composure. "Perhaps it's not too important, but today at around 1 or so, I did see her ducking in and out of the arts and craft store while I was... doing stuff." he informed the group, perhaps realizing just a second too late that he might be forced to reveal a deep, dark secret.

This fucking image makes my posts look even smaller than they are lmao

"Eh, nothing crazy."

It was understandable that the poor young girl would be confused, and that she desired to be filled in on the situation. Sil preferred to be informed on what was happening at all times, so she could relate. Unfortunately, it was rather difficult to describe what had happened in that short amount of time, at least in the standard way. Thankfully, Sil was not Sil right now so she could make do.

"Umm...!" she cutely put a finger to her lips. "Since you decided to sleep on the job, nothing serious!" the mahou idol assured. "We beat the crazy girl, Caroline, just barely. And then Mariette wanted to send her to her friend in the creepy dark portal, but then somebody else came and then she kinda disappeared! At least, in relation to us. I think there's bigger, weirder stuff going on elsewhere though." she intentionally hinted towards the boat.

Sorry, short post since I technically owe Bork a post instead of here but sorry bb

"Call me L."

@Lucius Cypher@Melpaws

"Wowzers! Is that your quirk? Super healing? I wish I could do that. I'm stuck with these bandages for a few more days."

Toru rotated his arm around, almost as if he was getting used to it. "Regrowing" limbs felt weird in comparison to reattaching them, even if there was no difference between the two (other than if his old limb was damaged in some way). He simply was not allowed to go retrieve his old limb because that was a landmine waiting to be discovered by some unsuspecting victim. Intentionally causing a bit of trouble may end up putting him in sight of the teachers and staff, but he couldn't help himself. So, his old arm was probably still where he left it when he 'detached' it from his person earlier, and odds are SOMEONE would eventually find it. He hoped, so dearly, that it would be a damned janitor who left him locked up forever, but that was being idealistic, which Toru wasn't. Anyways, I digress.

"I guess you aren't wrong in that assessment, but I feel just 'super healing' is not giving it enough credit." he brought his new index finger up to his mouth. "Hmm, meh, now I'm just making it sound more complicated than it is. Yeah, super healing works." Ayanokoji's quirk had already gotten a name and it's easy to say... if he wanted to. Healing a limb was surprising to a lot of people, but he could do so much more and the name of his quirk kinda gave it away. If she ended up being a classmate of his, then he'd certainly desire a wonderful reaction from her later on. One that didn't backfire on him, of course.

The zombie student remained silent as she went on to 'answer' his question about violence in the school setting.

"Totally! Violence is inherent in the system! Why on my first day of class, I decapitated a student by crashing through a moving semitruck, dropped a couple tons of construction equipment on some kids I was fighting, and was ran over by that truck I crashed into after breaking my spine! Later that day as I was going to my next class I also got into a fight with ah... Thirty odd robots shooting at me with rubber bullets. Those hurt! Oh and I was thrown out of the second story window. Surprisingly not the worse thing that had happened to me that night. I stubbed my toe as I was getting out of the showers and that hurt like a bitch."

Something nobody knew about Toru was that his deductive skills were of a quality that even the most renowned detectives would envy. Much like a lanky, sleep-deprived detective in a manga about a killer notebook, Ayanokoji was able to make deductions that the average person could never come up with. One such deduction was that this girl was perhaps not telling him the truth about her first day on campus, which was something he was able to reach by utilizing key yet missable clues in her dialogue. And while most of this stuff was very believable and would not cause a person to bat an eye, she betrayed her untruths by leaving in something so obnoxious and blatantly untrue that he could only imagine she'd been victim to an untimely lapse in judgment. Perhaps her brain hiccuped?

Yeah, there's absolutely no way she just casually stubbed her toe and is here today. I hope she wasn't expecting me to believe THAT.

"That's all very interesting." he nodded. "I'll have to keep my eyes open. I am not the brightest bulb in the bunch, but I imagine black holes and low surfaces could be trouble. Your warning is appreciated, miss."

As the pink-haired megane skipped towards the busty nurse, the cat-eared girl who'd arrived with her had decided to depart. Were Toru dirty weeaboo trash, he'd probably jump on the chance to interact with such a person. However, Toru was technically Japanese and thusly was incapable of being a 'weeaboo'. He was an otaku or a NEET. Formerly, rather. You can't be a NEET while you are in school, a bit of information for those ignorant on the subject.

Ignoring yet more digression, Toru likewise nodded to the person. She didn't seem to fond of social outings, but considering his experience with the young lady was the few minutes she'd been in the nurse's office with him, that could always be an exception. Either way, Toru had no reason to stop her from leaving and awaited his turn to meet with the nurse.

I could probably just ask someone else what I need to know, but the huge arm-lady told me to ask her and I don't want to upset her.

...yet.

"S-she captured my favorite trick!!!"

@Norschtalen@Lucius Cypher@Melpaws

"Fool. Just don't cause any more grief for me or the next time you'll be paying an arm and a leg." was how the girl replied to his statement. Considering her tone, he almost wasn't sure if she had intended to make a joke there, but if it wasn't she would've had to be really dim, which is something he didn't want to think of her as without cause. He smiled a bit, stifling the laughter that was trying to come out as a result of the contrast between her appearance and tone to the nature of the joke. It really was something.

"Alright, alright, I will not actively seek to cause you grief. Probably." if he'd said he wasn't without uncertainty, then he might be a liar.

As they approached the nurse's office, Toru briefly contemplated informing his escort that this trip was pretty meaningless. What would a school nurse even do? Put a band-aid on a missing limb? Wouldn't it be better to take him to a hospital? Then again, it was a hero academy, so probably the nurse might've had some kind of healing quirk, like his own mother. Not that that mattered, though. A missing limb wasn't anything serious to Toru, so the effort was wasted regardless.

It was probably best not to reveal this to her.

Thankfully, although somewhat disappointing as well, moments after they'd arrived Tarata suddenly left. Whatever it was the head nurse was speaking about presumably intrigued her, and so she left him with some instruction and bolted out the door.

Today seems like a rather busy day for people, judging by the sudden exits I've seen so far.

His observation and alone time with the nurse was quickly ended with the appearance of other individuals. Most notable of which, in his opinion, had to be the pink-haired girl who entered first, but apparently some people had been 'sparring' and had gotten injured. The girl happened to notice Toru and his lack of a limb. ”Oh no! What happened to you!? You’re missing your arm!” she exclaimed in the most straightforward way possible. It legitimately surprised him as he was expecting her to be like the others and not have a strong reaction, so it was briefly apparent on his face. He was also a bit confused as to why she was casually dismissing her own injuries as if they were nothing. Was she some kind of weirdo.

Wait a second...!

"U-uh, yeah, so it would seem." he would go so far as to say she'd managed to screw with him, intentionally or not, in the very way he wanted to mess with others. Toru wasn't actually too used to others getting him, so he had a hard time replying. It was pretty embarrassing, actually, and not being in control of the situation made him feel a bit nervous. "Anyways," he began, wishing to regain his composure, "I've got to hand it to you, I didn't think to downplay a serious injury was a specialty I shared with others. You and your friends can go on ahead, I'll be fine."

Still, he had to wonder. How violent was this school?

"...do people beat each other up in this school often, though, or is this some special circumstance?" he glanced at the black-haired catgirl? who'd remained quiet but was quite obviously one of the people who had supposedly sparred. His question, however, was more directed towards either the pink-haired girl, considering she was the more talkative of the people there or the other girl who had come with her. And as he did so, his arm suddenly grew back as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
