I mean, part of the charm of wizards (at least to me) is how easily you could make one go full on mad scientist.
And my friends mocked me for being the only player to take advantage of the technology splatbook in base pathfinder, no I was just going to go technomancer and cybernetically enhance corpses do uh erm c-completely ethical uh erm biological research... :|

Plus, I can just imagine Jub learning new spells would just... insist on using them. Constantly. Even when he doesn't need to.

I'm excited for level 2, because Jub is going to become an illusion wizard and learn (improved) minor illusion.

I believe that's referring to a certain new race provided by the Wild Beyond Witchlight module.
...I'll be revealing that particular race in Chapter 2.
I was tempted to make a character using that specific race, but I chose Jub instead because I thought he would be fun to play in this particular scenario. I have yet to regret this decision.
