Jub has probably heard people describe him as 'eccentric' a lot, though he never fully understood what that meant.

I like to think the moment Zavakri starts talking to him his brain is suddenly like "OOOOHH that's what eccentric means"

Eh. Yes and no.

Jub definitely feels a little better about himself, but one non-goblinoid being nice to you doesn't erase all the times others have been rude or hostile.

Jub's thoughts right now are less "People will actually accept me?" and more Gabriel is a particularly exceptional and kind person.

In the same vein, Brutrumukk being really friendly to Jub doesn't erase the fact Jub's had less than stellar experiences with other goblinoids. It just means Brutrumukk is one of the nicer ones.

@Dark Cloud That being said, even if it hadn't been appropriate for their current plans, Jub would still have appreciated it.

He doesn't get gifts often, let alone magical ones xP

Then I was like "Well actually we just posted the last collab between Jub and Brut and he probably read it so actually he did that knowingly"

And then you said that and it's back to being a really funny coincidence xP

Jub blinked slightly and gingerly took the bag from Gabriel. He didn't open it right away, just taking a moment to look at the half-elf almost in awe. After a moment, he seemed to remember himself and, with a small mumble of "Thanks", looked back down at his hands. He very carefully opened the bag to see the contents and, recognizing as the pixie dust that had enabled them to fly earlier, his eyes lit up. He closed the bag and delicately put it with his other belongings. He recalled Brutrumukk's words earlier about escape plans should they retrieve the Mr Witch's watch, and this would definitely be good option to have should they need it. He sat up a little bit in his chair, looking slightly less uncomfortable than he had a moment before.

Then again, imagine how differently this whole campaign would have been if he DID have Disguise Self, and he been disguised as an actual gnome this whole time.

I doubt he and Brut would have been getting along as well if that had been the case.

He'd probably would have been hanging around with Miizel this whole time, being all like "How do you do, fellow gnome?"

Part way through the last collab, there was a moment where I genuinely realised that the entertainer background probably would have worked just as well, if not better, for him xD

But the idea of a charlatan wizard amused me so I went with it xP Plus, I thought the disguise kit means I wouldn't have to waste a spell slot on Disguise Self.
