Jub the Peculiar
Jub glanced up at Aurora as the elven woman offered to help him to his feet - not unlike how she had before the two of them had entered the carnival. With a weak smile, he let her help him to his feet. "Thank you," he said, before taking a moment to dust himself off.
When the human woman spoke again, Jub swerved to face her, only just managing to avoid falling over again. "Well, next time, maybe consider asking the rest of us before you do anything like that," he said. He was attempting to sound stern, but the affect was lessened by the fact he was slurring his words slightly.

Jub tried to start a fire. Zav immediately puts it out with Gust xP
Jub the Peculiar
Jub had been considering how best to respond to Brutrumukk's request for rest when the human woman stepped forward and spoke the magic words, turning the mirror into a doorway between dimensions. Panic started to surge as he watched the party start to go through the portal. He still wasn't sure if he was willing to go to... wherever this mirror lead, and was about to turn to Brutrumukk and suggest they take this moment to bail...
... only for Brutrumukk to start cursing up a storm before rushing after them, taking his shoulder goblin along with him.
Of course.
During the fall through the portal, Jub found himself tumbling from his perch and ended up falling face-first into the dirt. It took a moment for him to push himself up and wipe the dust from his face. "I'm ooookay..." he said, though due to still be disorientated, he certainly didn't sound okay. He took a moment to survey his surroundings as his brain took a moment to catch up with what he was seeing. "This... is definitely not what I expected. Did anyone else expect a swamp? I didn't expect a swamp." He attempted to take a step forward, only to end up falling over again. "Does... does anyone else's legs feel like they're made of jello? Is that normal?"
Nope actually I like the idea of taking Identify instead.
Thank the gods, because I ultimately decided not to have Jub learn Identify and I'm scared of us possibly running across cursed objects.
If it makes you feel any better, Zavakri can’t keep them either; she’s just not mystically forced into it because her ability was stolen.
Yeah, I did notice that on her character sheet back at the beginning of the campaign. At first I genuinely wondered if she'd lost the same thing, until I read about her backstory with her sister.
Currently looking through spells to see what to give to Jub and happened across Distort Value, and I'm very torn.
On one hand, I don't know how often it will be useful in this particular campaign. On the other hand, the spell is Very Jub(TM), and I'm kicking myself that he didn't have it at level one, considering he's a guy who partially makes his living off selling trash and making people believe it's valuable.
... of course, then I have to remember that Jub cannot keep a secret, which makes the fact he was gonna be an illusionist a little tricky xP

Lol, hey, who here are Arcane casters? With Tsak's Sketchy Imitation skill, Tsak can copy spells from bard, Warlock, Sorcerer or Wizards and add them to her list of known Spells. Right now she can only copy 1st lvl spells and she can use this four times per long rest.
You got Jub, Gabe and Zav to work with.
… also just made me realise that the only casters you have in this group are arcane
If you want, I could have Brutrumukk clamp a hand over Zavakri's mouth before she can finish the rhyme and tell her to wait until everyone is ready.
