Feliana hesitantly nods before making her way back across the bridge she had carried Prino over earlier.

As Dimple begins his prayer, he immediately feels the attention of something far bigger and grander than himself zero in on him. While his eyes are closed, he no longer feels as if he's hovering in the middle of Alula. He feels likes he's somewhere else, somewhere deeper within the Fanewick, standing in the shadow of some colossal creature, larger than even the auroch that is attacking the village, and much, much older. The sounds of Alula in chaos seem to fade away for a moment as Dimple is seeming trapped in this being's presence, as if under some divine judgement.

Then this being breaks the silence with a loud bellow, much deeper than the one the auroch had made earlier. Dimple is forced out of his mind, his eyes involuntarily opening as he finds himself back in Alula, floating over the auroch. The presence and the feeling of being somewhere else, somewhere ethereal and ancient, had faded.

But he can still hear that bellow, and it seems he is not the only one. Several villagers pause in whatever they doing, be they villagers starting to panic or hunters and guardsmen readying to fight against the auroch. Even the auroch itself lifts up its ears, and then its whole head to sky. If anyone were paying attention to its eyes, they're notice they neither look unfocused nor angry.

Its eyes look... wistful, as it is temporarily distracted from its rage.

@Randomguy

As Arnannel near the top of the ladder, a hand reaches down, grasping his shoulder and pulling him the rest of the way up. It was the older human hunter who had ascended before him. The other hunters are around him. A couple are still regarding Arnannel suspiciously, but most of them are focused on the auroch. At Pepper's magically-enhanced shout, the human hunter motions to his comrades. "You heard the girl," he said. "Light some arrows and starting firing at the bastard!" As the other hunters start readying themselves, the hunter turns his attention back to Arnannel. "You seem pretty good with a bow," he said. "Mind helping out?"

@Guardian Angel Haruki

Pepper's shout draws the attention from several hunters and watchmen, including the green ribbit who had previously called out to her, who were now hurrying to battle stations and readying their bows.

The auroch was thankfully too distracted by the sudden bellow from somewhere else in the Fanewick to pay attention to her... but her shout does draw the attention of something else. Pepper hears the sound of high-pitched buzzing as several bloated, fist-sized flies come flying out of the foliage, drawn by the scent of rot the auroch is radiating. Since Pepper is the closest thing when they emerge, they made a beeline for her and start swarming.

@Vertigo

Greenbeard, Mito and Spix all follow Capriccio out of the pub, and all four of them witness the chaos that Alula has become. Cappricio will just about hear Pepper's shout, drawing attention to where she is, currently being swarm with flies. He'll also see several hunters and watch-men readying bows and torches to rain fiery arrows upon the auroch, who is temporarily distracted by a distant bellow.

Who will Capriccio help?
I'll wait for at least one other person to post before I put Loch's next response.
Loch

Loch couldn't help but feel the tiniest pang of joy when Duck-Billed O'Malley recognized them. The more cynical side of their brain chastised them: Of course O'Malley would recognize them! Each of the animatronics at O'Malley's Pizzeria and Bowling Alley had facial recognition technology and a log of previously encounter customers. What better way to keep popular with kids than have their favourite characters recognize them on subsequent meetings, creating the illusion of a connection that kids would then want to keep up, begging their parents to take them again and again so they could continue to see and bond with their animatronic 'friend'. And all in the name of capitalism!

Still, it was pretty amazing that those systems were still working after all these years. Was the animatronic's memory internal or was it stored on a database somewhere? And how was that database still functioning after five years of disuse? Was the company that had run the establishment still keeping that information? If so, for what purpose?

Loch looked the animatronic up and down. He wasn't up to the standard of repair the Pizzeria and Bowling Alley would have normally kept him at, but he wasn't in complete disrepair either. Someone had fixed him.

But who? And why? And why bring him to this park?

Loch cautiously continue their approach, a grin creeping up their face as their inner child managed to wrestle some whimsy out of them from the grips of their near constant suspicion of the world. "Hey, big man!" they said. They raised their hand up as if to give him a friendly thump on the shoulder, before quickly deciding against it."Yeah, it's me. You look... good, all things considering!" They adjusted their glasses.

O'Malley would note that Loch's voice is a little deeper than it was five years ago, and their Scottish accent less thick. O'Malley might also note that the glasses Loch is wearing at the same pair they had six years ago... and therefore long past the time that they should have been replaced.

"So, err... what are you doing here?" Loch continued, trying to sound as casual as possible given the circumstance. "And err..." They pointed with their thumb to the door they had entered from. "You would have been the one who got that door open, would you?" Lockpicking did not seem like a skill anyone would give an entertainment animatronic, but they had to at least ask.
@rush99999 Question for my next post: what state is O'Malley in right now? Is he looking good-as-new, repaired but antique or in a state of complete disrepair?
The bugbear introduced himself as Voth, and it appeared they were now stuck with him, too. Could they not find a wizard instead?! Someone of even moderate intelligence?

The goblin was wearing robes, but... no, such a thing was unheard of.

Jub, with his newly increased intelligence score: Excuse the fuck out of you!

Although, one thing to note, that I haven't mentioned: Jub isn't wearing his wizard robe. He actually hasn't been wearing it this entire time, since giving it to Brutrumukk after his rebirth. And even after it was given back to him, he still hasn't worn it.

So yeah, Sschiza is (somewhat) forgiven for not recognizing Jub as a wizard. He isn't looking super wizardly right now.
Hey... most of it is black

Loch: Heh, just like my soul!
Cassidy, who can literally see souls: That is false.
@rush99999 Oh, note! O'Malley will at very least know Loch likes cryptids.

In fact, they are in this scene currently wearing this hoodie, featuring their favourite cryptid:
What comes next is going to to be a little more interesting then. >: 3

Did Loch go by her legal name prior to being a they/them or were they already using Loch as a nickname even before they went nonbinary?

Also, would O'Malley know that Loch is a conspiracy theorist?

I'll say Loch was going by Loch even before they came out as nonbinary.

They really do not like their birth name.

As for whether O'Malley would know if Loch was a conspiracy theorist, I'll say... not exactly? While Loch was always an eccentric, they were probably not as vocal about their conspiracy theorist leaning prior to Covid. Not in public at least.
I feel like Loch would work for the Help, even though it might be framed as more them doing so on their own instead of asking.

You mean this one: "They helped you at a critical point in your quest for revenge. Tell them what you needed help with."?

@fellsing
Was Loch a they/them back before Covid or was this a recent development?

That is a great question, that I hadn't considered before just now. Errr....

I'm gonna say they were not going they/them before Covid.

Go ahead and roll Investigate a Mystery. ^_^

Got a 9, meaning I get one question.

I guess the obvious question is "What happened here?"
Loch

As Loch made their way out of their car, they couldn't help but pause when they looked up at the dilapidated park, separated from the rest of the world by a large fence.

Tonight is going to be long night, they thought. The burst of adrenaline they had experienced all throughout the drive over here (and the various pit stops they'd made) seemed to be almost instantly drained out of them, replaced with a weariness. They glanced over their shoulder at the bulky backpack they had stuffed with a variety of tools, tech and snacks, then back over at the fence.

"Yeah, I definitely didn't think this through," they muttered to themself.

Thankfully, they didn't have to worry for too long about how they were going to get themselves and their gear over the fence unscathed because after a cursory glance at the perimeter, they noticed one of the doors in the fence was apparently open.

Convenient. One might even say too convenient.

With a grimace, Loch opened one of the side pockets of their bag and dug around until their hand wrapped around their flashlight. It was one of those heavy duty ones, the kind that would provide a good amount of light, wonderful for searching through dark, dusty places in search of clues. Also for blinding any one who tried to bum-rush you. And probably weighty enough that being smacked in the head with it would be incredibly unpleasant.

It was perfect.

Loch switched it on and shone it on the door, trying to see if it had been forced open or merely left unlocked. Once they'd found out all they could from that, they would enter.

Approaching the main gate, they would see a very familiar-looking animatronic standing a little ways away.

The heck was he doing here? Then again, how could he not be here?

Anxiously, they start waving an arm over their head, hoping to attract the attention of O'Malley - or the animatronic they assumed to be O'Malley - without having to shout and possibly alert any security guard or policeman who might be lurking about.
